When you are in hell, only a demon can point the way out.

With no doubt, Zane Atlas was in hell but no demons pointed him the way out.

Milo was forced to such an extent that her illness triggered.

And the illness did what it always does.

Smearing everything with blood.

But the illness didn’t know how to differentiate between a bathroom and the home of God.

Milo let out all the blood the illness brought to her throat on the Emberlord himself.

And the Emberlord didn’t know how to differentiate between an illness and a sin.

Therefore, after being drenched in blood, the Emberlord straight out reached a conclusion.

"Your sister is a demon, Zane Atlas."

And since she was called a Demon, a creature of darkness, the Emberlord took the initiative of protecting the light. And to protect it...

"She shall be purged right now."

The Emberlord dropped the nuke of an order.

His words rang inside Zane’s entire being.

His sister shall be purged?

She was a demon?

She was evil?

She was threatening light?

She had to die?

"Like hell!"

Zane erupted.

He was already behind the Emberlord and just like he had decided, he pounced on the Emberlord.

But the Emberlord wasn’t someone who could be just pounced on.

Zane was in the air and just when he was about to land on the man...

"Move."

One word.

The Emberlord spoke only one word and flicked his index finger.

Zane’s eyes widened as the air itself changed around him.

As if the air developed hands of its own and before he could as much as touch Coin...

THRAAM!

Zane went flying back to the stage.

And not only Zane, with him, Xavier and Tesla flew as well.

All of them crashed at the wall of the Cathedral.

Smoke arose from the impact and Zane’s head spun.

The ceiling of the Cathedral danced in his vision and the back of his head turned warm and wet.

His whole body cried in agony, he didn’t even have the strength to look at Xavier and Tesla.

All three men were stacked with each other.

At the back was Xavier, then Tesla and then Zane.

Being in the front, Zane suffered less than the other two men.

But his wrists were already broken, he was already chained, his neck was already fighting for breath the whole time and now the back of his head let out blood as well.

Each pore of his body ached and he felt grateful for his survival instinct that had stopped him to fight with the Emberlord earlier.

Just one flick of his finger was enough to reduce Zane in such a state.

What would have happened if Zane had engaged in a fight with him?

He shuddered thinking about it.

He stared at the white ceiling of the Cathedral, the sun laughing at him from the sky as its light stung his eyes.

Wait. Light?

Zane jolted up.

He sat upright.

His eyes widened as he remembered it.

"She is not a Demon! She is a child!"

He shouted from the stage, trying to get up.

He couldn’t get up so he dragged himself.

He dragged himself on the stage towards the Emberlord.

Coin still had Milo’s hair clenched in his fist.

Milo’s eyes had returned to normal and they were closed.

The Emberlord still had blood on his entire body from head to toe and it was the blood that wrecked everything for Zane and Milo.

But Zane won’t give up.

If he can’t fight the Emberlord then he would shout so much that Coin had to acknowledge him.

He won’t just give up on Milo and let her die in front of his eyes.

"She is sick. It’s her illness that makes her vomit blood. She is not a demon, you bastard! She is simply a child! Why the fuck you can’t understand? Let her go!"

Zane let go of all his manners.

He would use anything to make the Emberlord focus on him other than Milo. Even if that included calling Coin a bastard.

"Get away from me! I need to help him!" Xavier shouted.

He shoved Tesla aside from him.

Tesla groaned in pain and he would have abused Xavier for shoving him aside so roughly if not for the merchant seeing the condition of Zane’s friend.

Xavier’s hair was drenched.

Blood dripped from them continuously.

He was at the back when Zane had come flying. He had hit the wall hardest. He suffered the hardest impact.

Tesla and Xavier were nowhere near close when Zane was sent flying.

Tesla was holding Xavier but when Xavier saw Zane coming, he had deliberately jumped and it won’t be wrong to say that Zane’s head wasn’t turned to mush all because Xavier had jumped in time to distribute the impact.

His elbows were bleeding and probably broken and he breathed heavily as if each breath cleaved his lungs while coming out.

And yet, the man was standing and moving towards Zane to help him.

I thought it was me who suffered the most.

Tesla couldn’t even get up from the floor as he had also suffered but he was sure of one thing.

He couldn’t have possibly suffered as much as Xavier.

He is moving by sheer will to help his friend.

Tesla sighed.

He saw Xavier with a glint in his eyes and this time, he made up his mind.

He won’t stop the man anymore.

Tesla was afraid Xavier would also die like Zane if he rebelled, but now he got it.

If Xavier died alongside Zane, that would be a life well spent for him.

Tesla crawled towards the podium and with its support, he stood on his feet.

Zane had crossed the stage while dragging himself and now he was on the floor.

But someone else had also crossed the stage and now he was behind Zane.

"Let me help you." He said.

Zane looked and his gaze softened.

It was Xavier.

Zane nodded and Xavier returned the nod.

He then clenched Zane’s shirt from the back with his right fist.

Zane was lifted a few inches off the floor.

Xavier gritted his teeth as if going through tremendous agony but not once did he let out a groan.

He tightened his grip and when he got the best hold...

"Go and bite him too, fallen filth."

Xavier launched Zane at the Emberlord.
