Destined with You
Chapter 2284 - 2299: Why Is It Him? (Part 1)
Ye Yingsu quickly reacted, forcefully tapping on the partition window in front, "Stop the car, stop right now!"
"Shushu, I want to go see. Even if I can’t help him, I still want to stand with him." Gu Qingxin firmly held her hand.
Ye Yingsu frowned at her, but ultimately acquiesced...
...
Inside Jade Garden.
The Beiming Family had already gathered, intending to elect a new Family Head today.
Beiming Wuji and Beiming Jue were present, along with several important elders of the Beiming Family, discussing amongst themselves.
When Beiming Han arrived, the room fell silent due to his special status and his cold, distant demeanor.
Everyone feared him slightly.
"Sixth Brother certainly has a grand presence! So many of us are just waiting on you!" Beiming Jue commented indifferently.
"Is it me who has a grand presence? Or is it that you all made plans and I’m the last to know?"
Beiming Han just glanced at him coolly. All the important seats in the living room were already occupied, leaving only some unimportant ones empty. Because Beiming Han was known to be distant from family members, everyone today had a spectator’s mindset.
Beiming Han maintained an impassive expression, as if unaware of the situation or the mindset of the others, and walked directly to stand before a family elder.
That seat was reserved for the direct line of the Beiming Family, and Beiming Han simply cast a casual glance at him, causing the elder to feel an overwhelming pressure.
Feeling as though there were nails under him, he quickly sprang up and moved aside.
Beiming Han turned and sat down.
Only after the elder left did he start to feel regretful. Really, in today’s situation, what was he afraid of? With Beiming Wuji and Beiming Jue here, no matter how powerful Beiming Han was, he would only be driven out of the Beiming Family.
"Sixth Brother, busy with important matters, I heard that after the old man’s funeral, you’ve been at home accompanying your little girlfriend...it’s understandable not to know!" Beiming Jue remarked coolly.
"Not as busy as you, showing your wolfish ambition to take over the Beiming Family’s assets when Grandfather’s body isn’t even cold yet." Beiming Han replied with a cold stare.
"Words need evidence; without evidence, it’s slander!" Beiming Jue retorted unceremoniously.
"Then go on and sue." Beiming Han replied expressionlessly, turning his gaze away.
"My dear nephews, today we are here to elect the head of the Beiming Family, not for you two to engage in word battles. Since everyone is here, let’s begin."
An elder of the family stood up, stopping the two from their verbal spar.
"Elect? How come I don’t know that the family rules, passed down for hundreds of years, have changed? Since when is the Family Head elected?" Beiming Han sneered.
"Sixth nephew is correct; typically, the new head should be determined by the predecessor. But when the Family Head passed, he left no instructions nor appointed a successor, so we have no choice but to elect one!"
"How do you know my Grandfather didn’t leave any instructions?" Beiming Han asked again, leaving the elder speechless as everyone looked at him.
"Are you implying that the old man left instructions before passing?" Beiming Wuji stood up.
"Whether he left instructions or not...this seat isn’t for you to occupy." Beiming Han stated coolly.
"We are discussing matters here, can you stop being so provocative with every sentence?" Beiming Wuji said, turning red with frustration.
