Chapter 67: What!!

This was the first time he would be doing this. He got the idea from Lightning Dragon he saw in the Ancient world. But he must have underestimated the casual power the ancients used.

Because his technique resisted him. Lightning is something wild, something that wants to be free to cause disaster, not something to be contained as Thaedric was trying to do.

He glanced at the Iridessa who was ignoring him and his will doubled. He slammed his will down on his technique and started to compress it, lightning manifested around him and then came down together in his hand until he was holding something resembling flickering purple light.

It’s not perfect but it will do, he drew back his hand and threw it. "Malastrum ball!"

It was a perfect shot. Should have been but the Iridessa caught shut his chanting and turned suddenly, flowing like darkness, and spoke only one word, conjuring a giant mana hand that slapped his attack away.

The Malastrum ball hit the ground and the lightning exploded, it tore the ground apart, eating away at the stone and shredding it as both poison and lightning worked together.

Thaedric staggered. A single ball has taken so much energy from him but he still has enough to go for more, but not much. For now, he faced his opponent who was looking at him as if he was some kind of shit ant crawled up to disturb him.

Thaedric could only see his four eyes but they burned with so much hatred he took a step back. He didn’t know the Iridessa’s tier because he couldn’t get a feel for it but he knew it was high.

His attack has been slapped away a by conjured hand. And not even the stones touched the Iridessa. "You. The boy that should be dead." The voice was like that of a snake, cold and dry.

Suddenly, his idea of running here alone without any backups seems very stupid and dangerous. He raised his shoulder and met his eyes, all four of them. "Your work is to disable the guardians so my mother can not raise them."

The Iridessa chuckled. "You are wrong. My work is to wake them to destroy this place...."

Thaedric felt a chill at his words.

.....and you have disturb me. All for the better, I’ve used your blood that Cormac sent but it seems to be insufficient. The rest of the blood in your body would do just fine. Too bad though that you turn out to be the Scion, I want to study you for something else."

Thaedric couldn’t see it but he knew the man smiled. So he was the one that gave Orso the dark mirror portal! Who exactly is this man and what did he want?

His senses screamed in alarm as the man raised a black gloved hand. Thaedric reacted with panic, he flared his around and powered Malastrum, adding poisonous lightning, to it and then sent it all at the Iridessa.

The space around them boiled, shimmer as lightning explode between them. Thaedric was thrown back and the Iridessa made a wall of solidified mana in front of himself with a quick chant.

Thaedric picked himself up, just as the Iridessa collapsed his mana wall. "No, stay down." The Iridessa said softly. Then he chanted quickly.

The air around Thaedric changed and he turned in panic but before he could do more than take a single step a grey mana chain came out the ground in front of him, coiled around his neck and jerked him down.

"Urg!" His head slammed painful into the stone, he clawed at his throat but the chain was like trying to push an enchanted wall and it tightened the more he tried to break it.

"Stop your fussing. It’s not like your Hydraeus family is useful for anything. Let your blood be a step for new dawn."

"You fool! The guardians alone protects and will follow the orders of the Bloodscion."

"Yes. But I have your blood and now I’ll have even more. There’s a lot of things to do with such things. Your guardians will work for me and tear this place down. Your Bloodscion will be taken care of by that Elder."

Fear made give him spontaneous strength and he struggled again with the chain again but it only tightened and slammed his head down. "Bastard!" He raised his hand and threw lightning at him.

The Iridessa laughed and danced away, conjuring knives. "Time to harvest blood."

Thaedric took a deep breath and did the only thing that came to his mind.

They all watched Thaedric sailed through the air, Malak half expected him to surround himself with Sandskar’s power but the boy crashed into the edge of a roof and went out of sight.

"What..."

Malak looked back at his surround. The female one with the shield and the one with the knives was looking at him as if he was insane. He got that a lot and he was used to it.

In fact, he like to act like that. It helps to mask his natural love for blood and trouble. Talking of trouble. "I never thought I’ll be in this much mess when he asked me to serve him." He mumbled.

"What are you mumbling about." Zhilana said, she has removed one of the shield behind her, the one that looked like it was meant to bash something. "You just threw our Scion like a sack!"

Malak raised his claws. "You didn’t believe him just now." Not that Malak did either. Thaedric must be even more mad than him if he was claiming something like that. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

Zhilana grinned, her gaze on the blue shield. "Oh he’s related alright. He’s about the same height and all. He has the blood. And, bloodline above."

The blue shield flinched, they shifted uncomfortable among themselves.

Malak relaxed. "Oh...a shame then." He was looking forward for a fight.

"Captain Zhilana! You can’t just decide something like that!" The male boy that looks a bit like Thaedric but with green hair and bored eyes stumbled forward. He was breathing a little fast.

She rolled her eyes. "Oh come on! You should know your own charge!"

Kagerou took a deep breath, possibly to say his mind but he was interrupted.

A scream, loud and piercing raised high in the air. Coming from the direction that Thaedric went.
