Ever since he had taken the evolution serum, everything about him had changed. His senses had tremendously improved, just like how his strength and other physical attributes had gotten stronger.

In a situation where someone had sensitive hearing or sense of smell, it could be uncomfortable. That was especially in noisy environments, or in areas where there was foul odor.

But, after he took the evolution serum, despite the fact that his senses had been enhanced, it was almost the same situation with his strength.

He could control everything, limit his strength, or exert his full strength at will. For situations where he did not need to be disturbed, he just relaxed his senses, to be not that much different from that of an ordinary person.

Though, in his mind, he had a subconscious alarm, where, in case he detected some suspicious sounds or smell, he would be alert.

It was the same case at the moment. That sound of footsteps, it was clear that someone was trying to sneak around the mansion.

This mansion obviously had security, and the security guards did not need to sneak around. It was the same for the other house staff, unless they were trying to do something sneaky.

This was what Michael thought at first. And when he received a notification from Onyx, his expression hardened.

According to the information that he had received from Onyx, the intruder was someone unrecognizable. But, the method that this person was using, it made it so that he could not be detected by the security guards or other people within the villa.

As for why this person was sneaking around, probably, it was just part of the method that he was using. Or maybe, this person was cautious, despite the method that he was using being almost foolproof.

Today was the first day that he had gotten here in the capital. Not many people knew about his arrival, obviously including the Santos family.

Perhaps, there was a possibility that they might have gotten the news of his arrival after the incident at the auction house, but was this not too fast?

After all, he had just gotten to the mansion, and he came over on a helicopter. For the information to be transmitted to someone, before arrangements were made, it would still take quite some time.

But just a few minutes after he arrived, there was someone here, already looking for him. Or maybe not him, but they came for something from the mansion?

Onyx did not possess any information on this person. Clearly, this person’s background wasn’t simple. And Michael guessed But there was a possibility that this person might be a mutant.

Just as he was still contemplating about the possible identity of this person, and what his aim was, Onyx gave him another piece of information.

"According to the analysis that I have made, based on the way that he moves, judging by his physical features, and parts of his exposed body, there is a high probability that this person is an assassin.

I have just looked into the possibility of someone who has a conflict with you, making a move. And I have just found that Amos, the leader of the Blood Reapers Syndicate, recently withdrew a huge amount of money from the bank.

For a person of his caliber, most of the transactions that he deals with involve huge sums of money. So, it is extremely suspicious considering that he just withdrew $20 million dollars 3 days ago."

Michael’s expression shifted once again. Even though this was just a probability, there really was a high chance that this was something that had been arranged by Amos.

That old guy, he had not yet gone looking for him, but the old guy had already began making moves on him again.

Though, something that left him kind of puzzled was the fact that this person who had been sent over, came exactly where Michael was. Just what channels did this person use in order to be able to know about his current whereabouts?

"Transfer the image of this person to James, and ask if he knows anything about him. Tell him, I want a response as fast as possible." Michael instructed after a moment of thought.

James Edward, this was the assassin that had been sent by Death Shadow organization. He had taken on the bounty after Amos had posted it on the organization website.

Unfortunately for him, on the day that he arrived, he found Michael dealing with Bob and Gregory, the mutant from the Santos family’s silent order syndicate.

The guy attempted to use his push a bullet ability, a grade A ability, to deal with Michael, but it failed. Michael thought that there could come a time where he might need to use him.

So, he spent 40 SP to purchase the intent AI implant, which was something that ensured that James would never betray him.

It had been quite a while since he subdued this guy, and had not really found a way of using him. But now, maybe this guy could prove useful.

While Onyx was dealing with the task assigned, Michael decided to deal with this intruder. Currently, the identity of this person had not been confirmed, but no matter what, this person would have to be subdued first.

After all, while he himself and Kate were mutants, the same could not be said about the other people within the mansion. There was the staff quarters within the mansion, and the butler stayed within the main section of the mansion, on the first floor. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Additionally, there was Carol. If something suddenly happened, let’s say an explosion, Michael really had no method of dealing with that. That was of course unless he used the system to purchase something that could deal with that.

But by the time that he finished filtering through the system store items, maybe Carol would have already died. Not only her, but the other house stuff as well.

As soon as he got up from the bed, Michael’s ears picked up the movement from the room adjacent to him. Clearly, Kate had already noticed something off, and was preparing to get out of her room.

From what he could hear, and the cameras available within the mansion, Michael knew that currently, the intruder had just gotten into the mansion. He was approaching the stairs, clearly intent on going up.

Michael did not waste time, and neither did he bother to make his movements faint. He just went ahead and blatantly opened the door of his room, then stepped out.

The moment that he did so, Kate’s door was also opened, and Kate, dressed in white pajamas stepped out as well. Clearly, she was also getting ready to sleep when she noticed something off.

The instant that Kate noticed Michael, she recalled what had happened not long ago just after they had landed. Her face burned from shyness and embarrassment, and for a moment, she did not dare to directly look at Michael.

Looking at her acting like this, Michael felt that she looked so cute. But now was not the time to tease her. So, he cleared his throat slightly, and Kate seemed to realize his implication.

She immediately threw aside all the stray thoughts in her mind, as she focused. She approached Michael and asked, "What is going on? I have been feeling a little uneasy, as if something is about to happen. And, right now, I can hear faint footsteps from the stairs."

When Kate said those words, Michael was amazed by the grade SSS ability that Kate possessed. Clearly, this adaptation ability had enabled her to not only grow physically stronger, but all her other senses were also being strengthened.

During the time that she was still at the training camp, the enhancement wasn’t that high for her hearing. But things changed drastically after she began training in the training chamber back in Brenton city.

The advantage of the training chamber was that, some things could be customized, to match the kind of training that Kate wanted.

Kate understood the importance of enhancing her other senses. Those would allow her to be able to keep up with her improvement, making it so that the coordination between her eyes, ears, and the other senses could match the speed and strength of her own body.

Therefore, she had put in some effort, making it so that while her senses could not match Michael’s in terms of ability, at least, they were beyond what ordinary people could dream of.

"Don’t worry, we have an intruder. For now, I’m not sure about his identity, but it will not be for long. There is a high probability that this person is a mutant, and the type of ability that he possesses is currently unknown.

Still, there is no need to worry. I’ll just subdue him first, and later on, we can question him about his identity and the purpose of his presence here. After all, we just arrived, the probability that we are being targeted is quite low." Michael responded to Kate’s words.

Kate immediately nodded. Though, her expression became serious the moment that Michael mentioned the possibility of this intruder being a mutant.

Despite the fact that she was a mutant herself, she had really never fought against another mutant. Therefore, she was curious, but cautious at the same time when it came to facing a situation like this.

If this was something that involved a fight to the death, she was curious, how would she fare? Though, not even for a moment did she think of a possibility that Michael could lose.

"Let’s head dow-" Michael was just about to tell Kate that they should go down and meet the intruder when suddenly, he received a notification from Onyx regarding a response from James.
