Litty Reaching the Deepest Part of Douglade Ruins

The gargoyles attacked incessantly in waves. Even X-Piece, as expected, would be exhausted and run out of strength if they were to continue fighting them like this.

Their destination was the end of the dark abyss. The only one who had the means to overcome the current challenge X-Piece was facing was Kuufa.

“Aqua Road! Everyone, let’s break through!” (Kuufa)

They all entered the water column at once and accelerated in a straight line. As expected, even the gargoyles could not keep up with this.

The group, which had finally managed to leave gargoyles behind, was now hanging in midair looking downward.

“Ah! There’s the Diva!” (Litty)

“But she is floating in that place! The bottom appears to be as deep as an abyss…” (Roma)

“Ah, she’s gone…” (Kuufa)

Everyone was puzzled by the sudden disappearance of Cursed Diva. Currently, they were floating inside Aqua Road and were surrounded by walls on both sides, with the bottom still having no end in sight.

Kuufa kept the Aqua Road deployed, moving it on the walls like a snake reaching the place where the Diva vanished, but they still couldn’t find a place where they needed to go next.

“Don’t tell me that going to the bottom is the right move…?” (Roma)

“Let’s not assume that the bottom is the correct answer, Roma-san. I’m sure this ruin doesn’t provide such a simple answer.” (Litty)

“Nice, Litty-chan, you are starting to get it.” (Ennely)

“Let’s consider all the possibilities.” (Litty)

Litty closed her eyes. The only clue was the Cursed Diva. If they believed her, the answer would be somewhere around this area.

The bottom was an abyss, and if they fell into it, they would likely not survive. Then, she thought about the walls or ceiling on either side of her.

“Ah! There is something hollow in that wall!” (Litty)

“Kuufa-chan, can you get closer?” (Roma)

Litty’s eyes caught a glimpse of a depression in the shape of an emblem of some kind.

It was the result of learning Ennely’s powers of observation, in addition to her incredible kinetic vision.

Roma quickly pulled out the necklace belonging to the Cursed Diva. The shape matched the depression perfectly.

“Here we go!” (Kuufa)

Without hesitation, she placed the pendant in the center of the necklace in the hollow.

“Tei!” (Roma)

The wall suddenly collapsed. It would have fallen on X-Piece directly if Litty did not smash it just in time.

To their dismay, ruin was still as brutal as before.

For that reason, everyone was skeptical if this was the right way to go. But it was only for a moment.

Aqua Road turned upward, toward the wall where the block had been removed.

“I hope this is the end…” (Kuufa)

“This is a staircase. That means they were originally walkable, right?” (Roma)

“Come on, we’ve made it this far. It’s time to show yourself!” (Ennely)

Just for reassurance, they continued up the stairs without cutting off the Aqua Road.

When they eventually reached the top, they emerged into a space of unprecedented size. Observation revealed it to be dome-shaped, but it was where a small village would fit in its entirety.

The most eye-catching feature was the huge sphere in the center. Polished like a glass ball, it floated as if it had been waiting for the group.

“What the heck, this place… The atmosphere is totally different from before.” (Roma)

“I’m curious about that ball, but it’s not safe to approach it.” (Kuufa)

“But we can’t just stay here, Ennely-chan, any sign of a trap?” (Litty)

“Nah, I’m not that kind of creature… Well, we’ll just have to be on the lookout. Slowly, slowly, slowly…” (Ennely)

Litty and the others followed Ennely’s lead. No traps, no changes. As they approached the giant sphere, more details emerged.

All kinds of objects have been crammed into the transparent sphere. In some places, there were pipes extending out, and at the end of the sphere, a faint mist was blowing.

No matter how much Litty observed, she had no idea what it was. Even the knowledgeable Kuufa and the item-knowledgeable Ennely were unable to arrive at any conclusions.

“What is this… Litty, don’t break it.” (Roma)

“It’s okay, it has the same pattern as the pendant over there.” (Litty)

“Well, this is something we can’t deal with… with this, we had to change our perspective regarding Douglade Ruins.” (Ennely)

“…Could it be that this is what’s setting the traps?” (Litty)
