A Mate For The Last Lycan-Chapter 288: THAT’S YOUR NAME, LOVE
Chapter 288: THAT’S YOUR NAME, LOVE
Khaos was playing dirty, which was expected of him, but one thing that no one saw coming was the fact he gave up everything. He gave up the chance to revive the old dynasty of the lycan.
"Are you sure about this? You still have a chance to take everything and make things right," Gayle asked. It hurt him to know that they were going to leave everything behind.
"This is the right thing," Khaos replied. He didn’t even turn around to see the continent, where his kind’s long and precious history was held.
They were at the port, near River Creek pack. It was only a matter of time before Khaos and some of his people left this continent. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
Khaos indeed left the continent, but it didn’t mean he handed it on a silver platter.
Actually, he actively ruined it.
The Three Kingdoms were in chaos right now.
With the treasures in his possession, Bairone would buy more warriors, fighters, or whatever you call them to conquer the Great Lunar Kingdom and fight the other two kingdoms. Knowing how greedy that merchant was, he must want to rule the three kingdoms.
Khaos could see in his eyes how much that man wanted power, and now he had the treasure that could give him what he wanted.
There was no way he would let it go to waste.
However, that would be a damned process and with Rose in control of Celeste kingdom and king Amidas back to the throne, since the death of his son, Khaos knew the father and daughter would give Bairone the taste of hell.
Not to mention it wouldn’t be easy to take down the Great Lunar kingdom, after all, it was the strongest kingdom in this continent.
It would be lovely to watch how everything played out...
In retrospect, Khaos was actually the cause of the fall, the chaos, the mayhem that happened in this continent.
"Why would you do this if you want to be with Zuri? Once you have your hand on the Three Kingdoms and everything within your grasp, there is no way someone will stand against you. It didn’t make any sense." Gayle shook his head as if he was trying to understand the way Khaos’s mind worked. "You know that, right?"
Khaos stared at Gayle for a second and then looked away. He simply walked straight to one of the ships that he had purchased with the help of Zuri.
"Khaos, why do you want to hand the whole continent to Bairone?" Gayle chased after him, he was not yet done. He wanted to know the whole truth, since it would be the last chance.
"No, I didn’t hand the entire continent to Bairone. I handed him ruined kingdoms."
Why would he want something that had been ruined, something so chaotic? Why would he want to rule a broken Kingdom in exchange for being with his mate?
It was only a matter of time before all of them fought against each other, trying to destroy one another because of their greediness. Khaos only sped up the process and initiated the inevitable.
And for him... he had something else better to do.
"Khaos..." Gayle tried. This was his last chance to get Khaos to consider his decisions about the whole thing.
However, Khaos stared at him and waited for him to finish his words, yet Gayle said nothing, because deep down, he knew exactly it was only a waste of breath to try to make Khaos change his mind.
He wouldn’t change his mind at this point, he knew that. He could see it in his eyes as they walked together to the ship where Dezgar had been waiting for them.
But, once they got on board, apparently it was not only Dezgar who was there, Lucas and his little brother were there too.
"What are you doing here?" Gayle Asked Lucas. He frowned when he saw this man, but Khaos didn’t even acknowledge him, as if it was only normal to see him on the ship.
The lycan walked away to see Zuri’s condition, while Gayle and Lucas had an argument and Rian sat quietly at the table with Dezgar beside him, handing him a glass of milk.
This little boy must have had a hard time to have someone like Lucas as his brother.
"Why I can’t be here? It’s my prerogative to be here. I can be anywhere."
"Yes, anywhere. And you choose to be here."
"Yes, that’s right. Is there something wrong with that?"
What pissed Gayle off was the fact that Lucas acted as if he was one of them. He sat down next to his brother and enjoy the meal that Dezgar had prepared.
Actually, Lucas was trying his hardest and use all of the connection he had to know what was going on and where Khaos actually was until he remembered that the lycan had bought ships and it was only right for him to leave this continent.
And with that knowledge, he could find him here.
"We don’t accept more members on this ship."
"This ship is big enough to accommodate a hundred of me."
"One of you is already too much, I don’t need a hundred."
That was the last argument that Khaos heard before their voices dimmed as he walked away from them. He went to the second deck, where Zuri stayed.
The first sight he got when he opened the door was his mate, sitting on the edge of the bed and staring blankly at him.
"How are you feeling?" Khaos asked, he approached her and kissed her forehead. Her scent changed.
With the death of her wolf spirit, her scent altered as well. She looked at ease but confused as well.
"Weird..." Zuri replied, she stared at her hand. "I still feel like I lost something precious..."
"You don’t lose anything, Zia."
Zuri lifted her head and stared at him with a frown. "That doesn’t sound like my name."
"That’s your name, love."
