After Divorce, Billionaire Ex Found Me Pregnant-Chapter 220 Special - : #6
Chapter 220: Chapter 220 Special Chapter: #6
Lloyd woke up the next morning to find the bed beside him cold and empty. His brows furrowed and as he sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, his mind recalled the events from last night yet Anastasia was nowhere to been seen.
Did she leave? He wondered.
He looked around, and his eyes landed on a piece of paper on his bedside table.
Lloyd frowned and picked the note up, his eyes skimming through the words written on it.
Last night was great, but I could have gotten better. I left some cash to thank you for your service. Hope we don’t ever cross paths again, Lloyd Riley.
After reading the message, Lloyd’s eyes quickly found a thousand dollar bill placed on top of his wallet and he chuckled.
“Is this a fucking joke?”
Did Anastasia take him as a sex worker? Or did she think he was a prostitute?
And she even had the balls to tell him that she hoped they were crossed paths again.
He shook his head, still finding it funny that she’d leave a message like this.
“Oh, Anastasia, you’re so cute.” He mumbled and stood up, getting dressed before finding his phone. He scrolled through his contact for a few seconds before he found a number and called it.
While he waited for the person he was calling to answer, Lloyd mumbled.
“If you think you can run away after capturing my interest, then you’ve got another thing coming.”

"And that’s that Chapter closed!" Anastasia said as she clicked the block icon on Lloyd’s number and later deleted it.
She placed her phone on the kitchen counter and began preparing breakfast for herself, humming a tune she had been hearing lately.
But her bliss was soon interrupted by a loud knock at her door.
She stopped singing and turned to the door, wondering who it could be.
Was it her neighbor?
No.
Was it the postman?
Unlikely.
Was it the cops?
Nah, they don’t knock.
Anastasia approached the door and pulled it open, and as soon as her eyes landed on the person standing there, her expression turned sour.
"You’ve got to be kidding me."
"Surprised?" Mason, her half brother, said as he practically pushed his way into her house.
"Surprised my ass! What the fuck are you doing here?"
In response to her question, Mason held up an abnormally large lunchbox. "Ma sent me over to deliver this."
Anastasia’s expression soured even more at the mention of her mother. The woman who had abandoned her child who was in high school to marry into a rich family, the woman who had neglected her duties as a mother, choosing instead, to be a trophy wife, only ever contacting her after her identity had been exposed to her new husband by some of his business rivals, the woman who had told her that she wasn’t the child she wanted.
That was her mother.
Yet, despite all she had done, Anastasia couldn’t bring herself to hate the woman. Dislike, sure she did, but hate, she could never.
"Why couldn’t she have delivered it herself? Why send you?"
Mason rolled his eyes. "You think she’s free enough to come see you? You think she’d rather spend her precious time seeing her daughter instead of hanging out with her rich husband’s friends?" He sighed, walking over to the kitchen and opening the lunchbox. "She doesn’t, so I came in her place. And besides, you’ve been ignoring her calls and texts."
"For a reason."
Mason knew exactly what that reason was. As of last month, their mother had arranged several rich suitors for his sister, setting up several dates, which Anastasia of course, did not go on.
"You do know eventually you’re going to have to bend to her will. It’s always been like that." He said and began helping himself.
"Not this time around. Now, get your ass out, I have to get ready for work." She shooed him towards the door, only stopping her action when he was outside. "And tell mom that the next time she arranges a blind date for me, I’ll show her my lawyer’s license."
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say."
Anastasia rolled her eyes and slammed the door in his face, not bothering to listen to whatever else he had to say.
As she turned back around and headed towards the kitchen, her eyes fell on the lunch box. With a sigh, she walked over and peeked inside. freewebnσvel.cøm
As expected, the contents were delicious and fresh, which meant her mother had taken the liberty to personally prepare the meal for her.
It was a small gesture, but it was one that had Anastasia smiling nonetheless.

"Good morning Ms. Johansson!" Her receptionist greeted her as she walked into the building of her law firm.
With a firm nod, Anastasia acknowledged her greeting, turning her attention towards Catherine, her assistant who was rushing out of the elevator with her usual morning coffee.
"Good morning Ms. Johansson." Catherine greeted.
"Morning Catherine," Anastasia responded as she collected the coffee, taking a sip from it as they stepped into the elevator. "What’s my schedule like today?"
"Uh, firstly," Catherine began as she looked at Anastasia’s schedule, adjusting the glasses on her nose as she did so. "You have a meeting with Mrs. Smith, you’re representing her son Pablo, who was accused of sexual assault. It’s at 9:30, so I scheduled your 9:00 client for a 10:00 appointment. Then, after the meeting, you have a court session with the judge regarding a client who had been arrested and charged with attempted murder."
Anastasia nodded. She wasn’t looking forward to meeting Pablo, but it was her job to put her personal feelings aside and work as a lawyer.
"Is that all?"
"No. There was an impromptu call from LR Co,"
LR Co? Anastasia narrowed her eyes at the familiar name.
"They called to schedule a meeting. Apparently their company is going through a financial dispute and they need the city’s finest lawyer on the case."
"So they called us."
Catherine nodded. “They did, and as you’re the best lawyer here, I assumed it was alright to schedule the meeting, which is tomorrow morning.”
“That’s fine, but I don’t remember any companies within the area going through a financial dispute.”
“Yeah. The issue just turned up this morning. Crazy how it spread like wildfire.” Catherine said.
Anastasia nodded. “Alright. Thanks.”
As the elevator dinged and she walked out, Anastasia found herself taking a glimpse at her phone.
He’s made no effort to contact me. Guess I’m not that important, she thought, surprised at the sour taste it left within her.
But as she got into her office, preparing for the start of her day, she reminded herself that she had chosen this path and now, there was no going back.
All she needed to do was focus on her life and rid Lloyd Riley from her life.
The next day, when Anastasia walked into the conference room, a cup of coffee in her hand and a briefcase in the other, she didn’t expect to see Lloyd seated at the very end of the conference table.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” She exasperated in disbelief And the fact that Lloyd Riley was smiling didn’t make it any better.
