Xiao’er slowly opened her eyes, and the first sight that greeted her was Shangguan Xuanyi’s slightly weary yet handsome face.

"Girl, you’re awake!"

"Sister, You’re finally awake!" Xi’er exclaimed with noticeable excitement.

Xiao’er didn’t understand why the two were so thrilled, but that wasn’t important. What she wanted to know was how long she had been asleep? Why was she so hungry? She turned to Shangguan Xuanyi: "Brother Shangguan, I’m hungry."

Upon hearing this, Shangguan Xuanyi was stunned. He did not expect the first words from Xiao’er, who had been in a coma for several months, to be about her hunger!

But it was a perfectly normal statement! After consuming a liquid diet for several months, how could she not be hungry?

Without needing Shangguan Xuanyi’s approval, Yang Liu, who had heard Xiao’er’s words, happily asked: "Princess, what would you like to eat? I shall prepare it immediately!"

"Anything readily available will do; I’m so hungry I could eat a whole cow!" Xiao’er’s voice was slightly hoarse. She only had a nap, hadn’t she? Why did she feel so weak, her body feeble and frail?

"Prepare a bowl of white porridge for the Princess." She hadn’t eaten for so long, it would be better to start with something light.

"Yes!" Yang Liu had the same thought. If she ate something too greasy straight away, she might get diarrhea.

Upon hearing this, Xiao’er looked at Shangguan Xuanyi with resentment: "I don’t want to eat white porridge!"

Why did they want to feed her plain porridge? Were they trying to torture her?

"You’ve been in a coma for so long; if you eat oily food, you’ll get diarrhea!" Shangguan Xuanyi explained.

He could get her any kind of delicacy she desired, but not now! Her body simply wouldn’t tolerate it.

"In a coma? Didn’t I just have a nap?" Xiao’er’s excitement urged her to sit up. However, her body was completely weak, lacking even the strength to sit up.

Only then did she realize, late to her own party, that this was not Zezhou, but the Wang Mansion in the Imperial City!

Shangguan Xuanyi noticed Xiao’er’s intentions and quickly helped her sit up, placing a pillow behind her back for comfort.

"Sister, don’t you remember? After you were injured by Gu Xuan, even seven doses of the healing pills didn’t wake you up! Your soul was traumatized, and you’ve been unconscious until now! A full five months!" Xi’er explained seeing that Xiao’er thought she simply had a long nap.

Well, one could say sister did have a nap, an extraordinarily long one!

"In a coma for five months? What about the children?" As soon as she heard this, Xiao’er’s eyes widened she quickly turned to look at Shangguan Xuanyi. Her consciousness was eager, but her movements were slow, lagging behind her thoughts!

Xiao’er realized her body was in a terrible state, but she knew it was due to being unconscious for so long; her body functions had degraded. Thankfully though, she could still speak clearly.

Right after her question, Xiao’er probed her ethereal space with her consciousness, only to find it empty, shrouded in a dense white haze. Everything was gone!

A sense of panic overwhelmed Xiao’er. What happened to her ethereal space? What about her children?

"Bai Tian, Tian Bai, Xiao Huang, Xiao Bai..." Xiao’er mentally called out to each of them, but received no answer!

Shangguan Xuanyi knew what she was worried about and quickly reassured her: "Don’t worry, I’ve brought the children back. They are currently receiving their early education with the tutor."

Given that the children were as intelligent as three-year-olds when they were just over one-year-old, Shangguan Xuanyi decided to hire a great scholar to start educating them early.

The most important issue, however, was that the children were incredibly mischievous! With numerous pavilions in the mansion and a large garden, the four children, despite their short arms and legs, were particularly good at running and always managed to sneak and hide when nobody was watching. This resulted in futile searches!

The entire Wang Mansion was constantly in turmoil every day from their antics!

Recognizing this, Shangguan Xuanyi decided it was better for the children to study with the tutor.

Xiao’er quickly realized what Shangguan Xuanyi meant by his words! Originally, they had agreed to tell outsiders that the children had been sent to a safe place. As for where, nobody was told. Now, Brother Shangguan probably said ’brought back’ because there were others around.

"Master Yunfa?" Xiao’er only then noticed Master Yunfa sitting quietly on one side. Earlier, Xi’er mentioned her soul being wounded. Had Master Yunfa been the one who saved her?

"Was it Master Yunfa who saved me?" Otherwise, surely nobody else would know how to treat a soul wound, right?

"Correct, fortunately we had Master Yunfa; otherwise, we wouldn’t know how long you would’ve remained unconscious!"

At this point, Master Yunfa had balanced his inner energy. He opened his eyes, looked at Xiao’er, and smiled: "Princess Rui, it’s nice to see you again!"

Since she was too weak to stand, Xiao’er didn’t force herself to kneel to salute Master Yunfa. Instead, she made a bowing motion from her bed: "Thank you, Master Yunfa for saving my life!"

"Princess Rui, you’re too kind, it’s my duty!"

"When did you two meet?" Xi’er asked curiously.

Master Yunfa looked at Xi’er: "When you were still an infant in the swaddling clothes, I had also seen you!"

Just as Xi’er was about to ask another question, Yang Liu entered with a bowl of white porridge.

Seeing this, Master Yunfa said: "I would like to take a leisurely walk in the garden outside."

"Yang Mei, you accompany Master Yunfa for a stroll!" Shangguan Xuanyi ordered.

Xi’er had many questions for Master Yunfa, so she quickly said: "I’ll accompany Master Yunfa for a stroll!"

Then, she said to Master Yunfa: "Master Yunfa, the garden of the Prince’s Mansion is known as the best in the Imperial City, even better than the Imperial Garden of the palace. Let me show you around."

Yang Liu obediently left the room.

Shangguan Xuanyi knew that Xiao’er had the habit of rinsing her mouth after waking up and before eating. So, he stood up, walked to the table, poured a cup of water,..., and helped Xiao’er rinse her mouth. Then he helped her eat the porridge.

Her stomach was desperately hungry, and even the plain white porridge tasted delicious.

A bowl of white porridge later, Xiao’er eagerly looked at Shangguan Xuanyi, clearly indicating that she wanted to continue eating.

Faced with Xiao’er’s pitiful expression, Shangguan Xuanyi looked away, took out a handkerchief to clean the corner of her mouth, and sternly said: "Wait a while before eating more, you can’t eat too much at once."

Xiao’er pouted when she heard this but didn’t insist. After all, she had more important things to handle.
