Almighty Father System-Chapter 133: The Scent Of Flowers.
Leo came back from Merid's house and Lily still rode on his shoulders. The young man had a spark of joy in his eyes. When they came back home the young man quickly gathered Crawford and then they headed out to track the masons who made the public toilets and plumbing systems in the town. These people were going to help him finish another obstacle.
The masons seem to be waiting for his order, and they began to make cement stoves for Leo in an abandoned shed in the palace. Then he looked at two of the stewards in the palace, and said, "Max, Lemon. I have a job for the two of you."
The young men were happy and nodded quickly, as Leo told them about the process of distillation. Merid used to make perfumes using a small hand made distiller, and her household stove. However, Leo intended to increase the product by three times, so he had the potters make three big pots for this purpose.
The other three pots were going to help him distillate a liquor. The young man used some of the wheat and millet grain and then he left them there for a couple of days. In the meantime, he contacted the glass shop workers, and had them design small bottles. Slightly thicker than the vails and some of them were even tinted with colors.
The idea of such bottles surprised the craftsmen but they agreed to it. Days passed quickly, after three days, Leo got the maids to fill up as many bottles with the extract as they could.
Lily stood beside them inspecting the vails and she smiled looking at the pink tint and said, "Baba, this looks so pretty, can I have one too?"
Leo chuckled and said, "Yes, you can, but before you, we need to give this to the inventor." freёweɓnovel.com
He picked up a bigger bottle and said, "Lady Merid, this bottle is yours."
The lady was surprised but sensing an encouraging smile from Snow, she accepted the bottle. Leo then looked at Crawford and said, "The soldiers who were assigned to purchase chicken and other things have come back, right?"
The old steward nodded and Leo said, "Distribute these bottles to them equally, send them to all the towns and cities in the vicinity, and sell the bottles to the nobles. However, tell them to finish the sales quickly and move out quickly as to not get followed by anyone."
The old butler nodded and left the room to gather the people. Snow looked at Leo and asked, "What are you going to price them?"
Leo chuckled and said, "Ten gold coins each."
The people were shocked, they looked at the bottles on the table, and found that there were around seventy such bottles. That would mean, if the soldiers managed to sale, it all, they would earn seven hundred gold coins from the first batch.
Leo looked at them and said, "No, don't think so much. You will get probably six hundred sixty gold coins."
Lily asked suddenly, "How so?"
The young man chuckled and picked up a few bottles and said, "A few of them would be given as gifts to the noble ladies as a method to garner their orders. However, that would be one time only, after all, a noble lady would not lack a few gold coins after they have taken a liking to the product."
Snow nodded and said, "This fragrance is a golden crown for the ladies, it would be nice if we could use different things to create more fragrances."
Leo nodded and said, "In winters, we will have a few flowers native to this region. That will be the time we make a good move."
Snow nodded, and then Leo instructed the soldiers on the cautions they all should take when travelling outside. They were loyal men, and Leo assured them to reward them handsomely if they can sale all the stuff.
The men nodded and promised to bring him gold and they left. Leo then headed to the cellar, where the barrels of grain were stored. Now, the grains have germinated and he personally helped the staff to mash them and then mixing with hot water. After a night, they added yeast in the mix.
There were three different batches of the fermented grain and fruits. Leo was going to cause the nobles to throw loads of money to acquire these three bottles.
After mashing the first batch, he left the palace, and came to the glass factory. They lived in a mountainous region, however, the soil in the barren area was akin to sand. So, they didn't have any trouble making glass.
The craftsmen looked at Leo, and they were smiling, the landlord had another novel idea, and thus, they got to work. This time, Leo taught them the venetian glass blowing technique which blew the minds of the craftsmen.
Three days, later the first batch of the liquor was put in for distillation. The process lasted the entire night and Leo sat by the distiller, and Lily spent a few hours sleeping in his arms before Snow took her in as the wind picked up pace.
Snow came out in the morning and said, "Love, how is it?"
Leo looked at her and said, "It is yet to reach the appropriate temperature. Then we will taste."
Snow nodded and came to stand beside him and said, "Lily was praising you for being so hardworking. She said that she wants to be like you when she grows up."
Leo smiled and replied, "It is good that she is picking up such things from all that is happening now."
Snow nodded, and Leo thought, 'System, I am sure that I cannot ask you the exact status of the mission progression but can you give me an estimate if the way things are going now is positive on Lily?'
'Ping: Host, the fact that you are worried about the affect of these things on your daughter's mind is a good thing, but you should understand that the system is bind by laws and cannot reveal such crucial details to you.'
That said the system fell silent, and Max said, "Your Grace, it is now at normal temperature."
Leo nodded and picked up a ladle to scoop out some of the liquor and sniffed it a little before tasting the content. He frowned and said, "The scent is a bit too strong."
The two men nodded, and then Leo drank a sip of the brownish liquid and held it in his mouth for a bit before swallowing the content. He looked at the three barrels and said, "Max, although the taste is fine, the texture is not. Get some muslin cloth, layer them ten times and filter the content. Then we will test it again."
Max nodded and quickly rushed to find the muslin cloth, and when they finished filtering the liquor, the color had turned from brown to golden. The young man nodded, and took a seep of the content before he nodded, and said, "Mister Crawford, have a sip and compare it."
Crawford was an all-rounder, he had been a mayor so he knew how to taste wine and liquor. He nodded, and took a sip before closing his eyes and said, "Sir, this liquor, it is comparable to the spirits that are acquired from the Pink islands."
Leo nodded and said, "Good, then let us distill the other batches and assign a group to sale them. Also, only the five of us are aware of the recipe, so be very careful about what you say outside. I will not tolerate any leaks. This is the matter of the town's prosperity."
Max and Lemon bowed and expressed their sincere loyalty and so did Crawford. Leo then went in to catch some sleep.
…
One of the soldiers was dressed like a merchant, he was roaming around the city when he located a carriage. This carriage belonged to a noble, guessing from the rose crest on the door. The person recalled what Leo told him and then he took out and he took out a bottle from his bag and walked closer to the carriage, he saw a couple of guards standing near and looking around he located a lady as well.
The person was young and her mood seemed to be pleasant as she walked along with a group of ladies, and the man said loudly, "Oh, what a pity! If only, if only they had the scent like flowers."
The ladies saw the man and they frowned, one of them took offence and asked, "Hey, you mongrel, how can we humans have the scent of flowers?"
The soldier chuckled and said, "My Lady, if I could prove that you can have the scent of a flower, what would you do?"
The lady in the lead frowned, they had never seen such an unreasonable person. She asked, "What do you mean?"
The soldier held up the small pink bottle and asked, "My lady, this bottle contains the essence of flowers, if you dab a little of it on your wrist you would be able to confirm my claim. This is something I obtained from a far away nation, and cost me a great deal of fortune as well."
One of the ladies frowned and asked, "How can we just test this thing, what if it is poison?"
Her words caused the people to frown and the soldier was one of them. He sighed and said, "How about I test it for you all?"
He then opened the bottle before them and tilted it to the side. The next moment, a faint scent of roses was scattered in the air. The ladies were shocked, and they saw the soldier rubbing his wrists together. He sighed and said, "Now for the next whole day, I would smell like some heavenly beauty."
The ladies looked at each other, and a silent spark appeared in their eyes, and one of them directly asked, "How much would you sell this for?"
The soldier smiled and said, "My lady, this bottle would cost you twenty gold coins. It will last for a month."
The lady was shocked and then she said, "Fine, I will buy one."
Followed by that was a flood of young ladies who wanted to buy the bottles for themselves and their mothers and their sisters and so on.
The perfume bottle was a hit and the soldiers were treated as messengers of God.
