Alpha's mate is a male?!?-Chapter 198: Rey.Jun,
Chapter 198: Rey.Jun,
Jun pushes the door open, stepping into the dimly lit room. At that very moment, Rey stands just behind the door, as if hiding. Jun doesn’t see him right away.
"Dumbass! I know you’re in here, sto..."
Before Jun can finish his sentence, strong arms wrap around him from behind, catching him off guard.
A startled sound escapes him as Rey pulls him toward the bed in one swift motion. His back lands on the mattress.
Before he can react, Rey follows, hovering above him, his weight pressing Jun gently into the sheets.
Rey doesn’t waste a second. He lowers himself completely, their bodies flush against each other. Then, without hesitation, he captures Jun’s lips in a deep, lingering kiss.
The exhaustion that had been weighing them down all day fades instantly, replaced by the warmth of each other’s touch.
They inhale each other’s scent, the familiar and intoxicating presence of the other grounding them.
Jun’s fingers instinctively tangle in Rey’s hair, while Rey tightens his hold, as if afraid that letting go would shatter this moment.
Rey exhales softly against Jun’s lips. "Jeez, I really missed you," he mutters.
Jun, still catching his breath, smirks. "Say you missed holding me this close. Not that you missed me."
Rey chuckles, his deep laughter vibrating through their connected bodies. "No, seriously, I miss you. And also holding you this close."
Jun sighs. "Well, you know we can’t do this now. You know how we are. We’ll forget that there’s a big moment happening out there, and if we miss that... they’ll never forgive us."
Rey groans, rolling his eyes. "By the way, do you remember that rule you made? The one where we weren’t supposed to sneak around or get lost in each other around people, and whoever failed would face the consequences?" He smirks. "I just remembered... you’re the one who lost the bet. So after the wedding, you’re going to get a taste of your own medicine."
Jun scowls. "No, come on, we forgot about that a long time ago! In fact, you just called me here! You did! So you lost too!"
"But who started?" Rey raises a teasing eyebrow.
"Ugh! Whatever, I’m leaving," Jun huffs, attempting to push Rey off and sit up.
But Rey is faster. He presses his body down, trapping Jun beneath him again. Before Jun can protest, Rey leans in, kissing him once more, this time slower, deeper.
Jun’s pretense of being annoyed crumbles instantly. His fingers clutch at Rey’s back, pulling him closer as he melts into the kiss.
When Rey finally pulls away, he lingers just millimeters from Jun’s lips, his breath warm, his gaze intense and unreadable.
Jun blinks, a little dazed. "What?" he asks, confused by the sudden change in Rey’s expression.
Rey hesitates. For some reason, tension ripples through his body, and Jun can feel the way his heartbeat speeds up.
"I... uh..." Rey starts, shifting slightly as if trying to compose himself. "Since you once told me you wouldn’t want a grand wedding, I thought..." He exhales, then reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small box. "After all, we should have something that recognizes us as a couple. So I... got this."
He flips open the box, revealing two stunning diamond rings.
Jun blinks, caught off guard. His chest tightens, emotions threatening to overwhelm him. But he laughs it off, nudging Rey playfully. "Wait a minute. Is this what you were refusing to show me the other day?"
Rey rubs the back of his neck, looking sheepish. "Yeah."
Jun takes the box from him, fingers brushing against Rey’s. He glances up and tilts his head. "Why is your heart beating so fast?"
"I don’t know," Rey admits, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jun suddenly flips them over, catching Rey off guard. Now, Jun is on top, straddling him.
He opens the box, carefully pulling out one of the rings. His eyes shine with strong emotions as he looks down at Rey.
Slowly, he takes Rey’s hand, slipping the ring onto his finger. He stares at it for a moment, as if making an unspoken promise, then lifts Rey’s hand to his lips, kissing the ring softly before leaning down to kiss Rey again.
"I love you," Jun murmurs, his voice thick with sincerity. "You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. You made me forget all my terrible pain, my past, and taught me how to be happy again."
Rey swallows hard, pulling Jun into a tight hug. Then, without a word, he takes the second ring from the box and slips it onto Jun’s finger. He hesitates, as if he has a lot to say but they all crush at him once.
Finally, he exhales. "I love you too, Jun. More than I can ever make you understand."
They stay there for a moment, foreheads touching, simply breathing each other in.
Then, a knock sounds against the closed door, followed by a familiar voice. Startling them.
"Jun, Ace says he won’t start anything unless you’re there," Jack calls out from outside.
Just like that, the moment shatters. They exchange a look, both knowing they have no choice but to get up.
Jun rolls off Rey, already stepping toward the door.
--
As they push through the crowd outside, Rey leans in close, whispering in Jun’s ear, "Just so you know... after the wedding, you’re still tasting your own medicine."
Jun lets out a dramatic groan. "Ugh!"
--
Outside, the scene is nothing short of breathtaking.
The sun has begun its descent, casting a golden glow over the vast open field where the ceremony is set to take place.
The entire area is alive with energy, filled with humans and werewolves alike, a sight that would have been unthinkable in the past.
At the center of the field stands a large ceremonial altar, draped in deep blue and gold fabrics, the sacred colors of the wolves’ mating season ritual.
The ground surrounding it is adorned with intricate patterns drawn from white and silver sand, ancient symbols meant to bless the union.
Chairs are arranged in a perfect semi-circle around the altar, accommodating the large number of guests.
The front rows are reserved for the elders, their presence giving the ritual an air of timeless tradition.
Behind them, the remaining guests, both wolves and humans stand in clusters, murmuring in excitement, eager to witness history unfold.
Torches line the perimeter, their flames flickering even in the soft evening breeze, casting shadows that dance across the ritual grounds.
The scent of burning sage and fresh flowers fills the air, mingling with the earthy scent of the surrounding forest.
At the far end of the field, near the entrance, several large bonfires have been lit, their crackling flames serving as both light and warmth as the evening deepens.
Some wolves stand nearby, their gazes sharp, keeping a protective watch over the event.
In the midst of it all, Kieran stands near the altar, dressed in the ceremonial garments of an Alpha, his presence commanding and unshakable.
Despite the chaos, his eyes remain fixed on one place, the path where Ace will soon walk.
The night is almost here. And with it, the long-awaited moment.
