Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 183: New Team Member
Chapter 183: Chapter 183: New Team Member
"The window on the stairs of the third floor can be removed to provide access. Since the second floor is almost flooded, we can’t use it, but the third floor is fine." Yang Leo suggested it when he saw the confusion on Chu Hao’s face.
"Okay, let’s go down then." Chu Hao became energetic again and led the way through the stairs. The rest followed behind him.
Ye Xuan walked at the back and held his girlfriend’s hand as they descended the stairs slowly.
Some people in the other floors heard the commotion of a group walking by and opened their doors to peek. Seeing the famed harbingers of death among them, they hurriedly closed their doors.
Some people had done nothing wrong but they had an instinctive fear of Chu Miao and Ye Xuan.
On the seventh floor, a girl of about twenty years old walked out when she heard the movement outside. Unlike others who opened their doors a crack and peeked outside, she straight up opened the door completely and walked out.
Seeing the group going down, she knew that they were going out to look for supplies. She had already run out of food and hadn’t eaten anything for a day.
Before the apocalypse, she had been a college student studying medicine. Her family worried that on short holidays she couldn’t get home in another city and come back to school on time, so they bought her this apartment.
It was in a safe neighborhood and close to her school. When news about a disaster filled the internet and the government urged people to stock up on food, she heeded the advice and bought quite a bit.
Unfortunately, in the first days when the extreme heat had caused people to be unable to go out and buy something, and zombies became rampant, she had been soft-hearted and shared some of her food with others.
This was the legendary heart of a doctor. She had not expected that the people she helped and shared her supplies with would turn her away when she had nothing to eat.
She had finally seen the heart of a human and how ruthless it could be in the face of benefits. She didn’t have a boat and couldn’t swim to look for supplies. So, she had been hoping that the rain would stop so that she could go scavenge for supplies and prevent herself from starving to death.
She was lucky that she still had two liters of clean drinking water which had sustained her since she had no food.
Tap water was no longer safe to drink because of the flood, it was mixed with dirty water where some of the pipes had broken.
She also suspected that the water reservoir where their water originated from had been compromised and contaminated. She might not be a qualified doctor yet, but she had been a medical student for over two years.
She understood how such a situation could impact human health. Who knew whether the zombie virus turning people into flesh-eating monsters had affected the water?
She didn’t dare drink or even use the tap water in her apartment. She was also worried about her apartment getting flooded soon since the water was rising so fast.
With so many things to worry about, she had no time to be timid or be afraid of Chu Miao and Ye Xuan. She had done nothing to them and they hadn’t hurt her either. Why should she act like a mouse seeing a cat?
So, even when she opened the door and found out that it was the two people known in their building as death demons, she didn’t react much.
"Hello, are you all going out to look for supplies?" She stepped out of the door and asked as the group passed by.
Chu Miao had not expected someone to talk to them. After all, everyone would run like the devil was on their heels every time they saw them.
It was a surprise to see someone daring to strike a conversation.
"Yes." Chu Miao replied with a single word.
She didn’t know this girl, but she also didn’t feel any malice from her, so she was willing to talk to her.
"Can you take me with you? You don’t have to worry about my safety, I can protect myself. I just don’t have a boat and can’t go out to look for supplies." She was very honest and stated her purpose immediately.
She also understood that these people were more powerful than her and didn’t have an obligation to help her, but she still hoped they would help. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"What’s your name?" It was Chu Hao who asked. He was intrigued by this straightforward girl in front of him.
He was used to seeing other women pretending to be weak to seek protection from men even before the apocalypse. Having mixed in the business world for a few years, he had seen his fair share of such people.
"My name is Feng Chi, my friends call me Chichi." The girl replied.
Seeing her brother looking at Feng Chi with interest, Chu Miao thought that she had finally met a potential sister-in-law. So, of course she would help pull her closer. She looked honest enough and didn’t play any tricks. She saw no need in rejecting her, especially since they would need more people later.
"Okay Chichi, you can come with us." Hence, the five-person group turned into a six-person group like that.
As they walked down the stairs, Chu Hao asked, "Did you awaken a superpower?"
He didn’t discriminate against those without superpowers but just wanted to find out if there were more unique powers than the ones he had seen.
"Is it a must for me to have a superpower to join you?" Chichi asked back. She didn’t think that this group was so superficial.
"No no no...it’s just that I have encountered various types of superpowers, but most of them are common abilities that are described in books.
Only yesterday did I find out that brother Leo has a telekinesis superpower, which I hadn’t seen before. I was wondering if you also have a different superpower that isn’t common." Chu Hao hurriedly explained himself.
Even he didn’t understand why he did that. She was the one asking for help anyway. Why did it seem like he was the one asking for her help? He didn’t quite get it.
