Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 203: Splitting the Spoils
Chapter 203: Chapter 203: Splitting the Spoils
Once you are done, we can then divide the ones we got together. Also, tell me how much meat you need for now and take it. Once you have finished, you can come for more. Also, don’t forget about the idea I talked about before. If you salvaged something that someone else needs and you can exchange for another item, feel free to trade.
You can also come to me if you need something you want to exchange for but the others don’t have it." Chu Miao explained what needed to be explained and sat down on the sofa to wait for them to split everything.
Once everyone had taken what they had brought out of the water and put them aside, Chu Hao put everything else they had collected that day on the floor.
Looking at the supplies that nearly spilled out of the living room, everyone was overjoyed. Their eyes were shining like stars at the sight of the food and snacks. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
These were things they hadn’t had the luxury of eating for almost a month now. The last time most people got any supplies was when the military distributed them, and they were too limited to be enough for anything.
Zhao Lu couldn’t remember when his wife and himself had a full meal. They always had to eat less to allow their son to have enough as he was growing.
Even such skimping on meals wasn’t enough as in the last week or so their son had not been having enough to eat. That was the reason his immune system had suffered and couldn’t effectively fight off the zombie virus even though he had the ability to do so.
Now with all this rice, flour, sugar, milk, cereals and other foods, they could finally eat their fill. Moreover, there was still meat and Chu Miao had promised fresh vegetables and fruits.
This was paradise in the apocalypse. Probably no other place had such good conditions.
Yang Leo and Chichi were the same. The group split the other supplies and this time the new members insisted on taking only a quarter of the supplies and dividing them amongst themselves. The rest were left to Chu Miao and Ye Xuan’s team.
They claimed that they didn’t contribute much and also their two teams had more people. Chu Miao noticed that even when the three divided the quarter amongst themselves, Chichi took a smaller share because she was alone while Yang Leo insisted on taking the same amount as Zhao Lu even though the latter had suggested taking less because there were only three members in his family while the former’s had four.
Yang Leo insisted that Zhao Lu had a child and he needed more meals than adults. Thus, they ended up taking the same amount of supplies.
Even though the supplies were divided like that, what everyone took was still substantial.
For instance, Chichi still had a bag of fifty kilograms of rice, another similar bag of flour, thirty kilograms of sugar and a gallon of oil. There were also numerous snacks. Adding to the ready-to-eat and the self-heating meals she salvaged from the water, she had enough food to last her for months. So, she had no stress. The rest were the same.
Once the supplies were divided, everyone sat down to talk. After all, they had only met in the corridor today.
"We have coolers at home, I’ll fill three with meat and also bring you the vegetables once I go back. Does anyone have a specific type of meat or part they want? You have seen what meat there was in the freezer so let me know." Chu Miao stated before they started talking about anything else.
"We are just glad to have meat at this time. I bet no one can access any meat now." Chichi commented with a proud smile as if getting meat was an achievement.
Something like this would have been normal before, but now it’s a luxury.
Some people might never taste meat again in their lives. The apocalypse had really humbled people.
"She is right. At this moment, we are lucky we can even see meat let alone become choosy about what type of meat to eat." Yang Leo added while Zhao Lu nodded his head.
"Okay then, I’ll select good meat that can help you regain your health and add some fish head so that you can boil fish-head soup. It’s good for your health, especially in this rainy weather." Chu Miao added when she got a unanimous reply.
Of course this made them even happier. They didn’t care if the fish had mutated, as long as it was edible.
"Alright, Yang Leo and Zhao Lu expressed their desire to join our team but we didn’t talk much about it. Chichi also just kind of joined the caravan midway.
I want to ask officially if you guys are willing to join our team? Before you answer, let me tell you who our members are.
There’s my family, the Chu family which has my brother, my father, my mother, two grandpas, and myself. The other part of the team includes Ye Xuan beside me and six of his brothers who live on the seventeenth floor.
There are three professors, Yang Leo might know them. Professor Ting, Professor Wu, and Professor Tang are scientists, also part of the team.
Then there is Grandpa Li’s family. I am not sure how many there are but all his family members are our team members too. However, they don’t live in the same building as us, but are still within this community.
Ours is a small team, but not exceedingly small. So, would you still like to join?" Chu Miao explained the composition of the team and left the choice of whether to join or not to them.
However, before they could reply, the voice of her silly brother was heard.
"Bunny, you told them about Grandpa Li’s family also being team members but you didn’t tell them which or who grandpa Li is. What if they clash with other team members without knowing?" One must know that even though her brother could be silly sometimes, he was right.
