During dinner time, the door was knocked again and Ye Xuan went to open it. This time it was Lei Ying who delivered the food.

He had been kind of Ye Xuan’s assistant in the past two years since their retirement as he ran most of his errands that needed a certain level of secrecy and could not be left to the regular company assistant.

Everyone figured that he understood their boss better. Plus, the boss always treated him like a kind of an idiot so he wouldn’t really be angry with him even if he was disturbed.

They had made the right bet, as Ye Xuan only took the food and told him to only bring breakfast and dinner in the future when they were busy cultivating.

Upon hearing the message, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. The boss could be scary sometimes when he got angry.

Ye Xuan of course knew about their little tricks but never took them seriously. They were his brothers who had gone through life-and-death together in many missions. He wouldn’t be angry over a little disturbance.

After having dinner, he took another shower and went to meditate in the bedroom.

It was already 7.00pm, the power had been switched back on and all the air conditioners in the apartment could be used.

He tried as much as possible to only use air conditioning or a fan without many other cooling methods because it helps his body to adapt to the changing environment.

He was cultivating when suddenly the noise of lightning disturbed him. He opened his eyes and looked outside only to see huge drops of rain falling from the sky.

They came fast and hard. The sound they made when they hit the glass on the balcony was enough to make him understand the force of those rain drops.

They were probably no different from hail.

Ye Xuan got up from the bed and went to the window. He had opened the window when he came into the bedroom because the heat had gone down to 35° celcius like it did every night.

But when he got to the window he realized that with the rain coming, the temperature had dropped to 30° celcius in a few minutes.

He didn’t know whether the rain coming was a good or a bad thing. If it weren’t for the zombies roaming around and still visible outside the community gate, he would have thought that everything was going back to normal.

He could hear screams of cheers from the people downstairs and others in different buildings.

Those people were probably celebrating the fact that they would not suffer from the heat anymore.

The heat had claimed many lives as some people dropped dead in their houses due to dehydration or heat stroke.

There were no ambulances to respond to their calls because of the zombies and even when they called an ambulance, they would just be told to cool off the person suffering from heat stroke and hydrate them by giving them water.

Of course, without professional help and the right medication, most of those people died.

What’s more, when some of their family members were reluctant to burn their bodies, the dead turned into zombies and attacked those still alive.

This period of extreme heat had been challenging for many people, which was why they were celebrating because the rain had lowered the temperature.

They didn’t need to worry about heatstroke anymore.

Some optimistic people probably also thought that the zombie infestation would end as the heat had ended because they started appearing when the temperatures rose.

They also think that the fog that appeared a month ago was caused by the heat.

It’s a pity that that wasn’t the case.

However, with all of them together, they were almost unable to stop that zombie. It showed how much stronger that zombie was.

He wondered how much power the crystal core of a level-two zombie had. The one they had obtained from killing that speed zombie had gone to Chu Miao.

But he was happy it could help her become stronger.

After finding out about her teleportation ability, he more than anyone else hoped that she would become stronger and be able to protect herself.

The message was repeated three times before the helicopter left.
