Chapter 97: Chapter 97: Success

She wanted to practice combining some of the arrays. She had always wanted to combine the spirit-gathering array and the protective array but found it challenging.

She had thought that if she could do it, then she could help her soldiers gain access to more and denser spiritual energy to cultivate while in camp and, at the same time, be protected and avoid surprise attacks.

Unfortunately, she didn’t have much time to study and could only utilize one array at a time. She chose the spirit gathering array because it would help the soldiers recover faster after each battle.

Now that she had the time, she could study the combination.

She also wanted to explore what was in the forest on the other side of the stream. She felt that her ancestors hadn’t just placed the forest there. After absorbing the fog, she had a feeling that there were resources that could help them survive the apocalypse there.

But she didn’t dare to go alone because then her family would worry. She decided to wait for her brother to come out of seclusion before they went and explored it together.

Chu Miao immersed herself in the world of array formations and would only take a break every now and then when she was hungry to eat.

She didn’t cook but ate the ready-made food that had been stored in the warehouse.

When she got too tired to concentrate, she would cultivate and then go back to work.

She didn’t even notice it but her cultivation and superpowers had become so solid because of the frequent overconsumption while trying to create arrays and recovery through cultivation.

She had been so obsessed with combining those arrays that she didn’t even notice that she had advanced. She was now a level four of Qi and level three superpower user.

When her family came out of seclusion half a month later, they didn’t see her in her bedroom when they went looking.

At first, they thought she had come out of seclusion early and left the space, but then they felt the fluctuation of spiritual energy in the direction of the study room next to the alchemy room.

It was not the type of fluctuations caused by cultivation but something else. Something they didn’t understand, so they all ran there to check.

When they arrived at the door and looked inside, all of them looked as if they had seen a ghost.

There was a young girl inside the study with all kinds of stuff that they didn’t understand surrounding her. The place was a mess with dirty plates everywhere. Luckily, the space kept things in a constant state; otherwise, those plates would be moldy.

The girl was dirty beyond reason, her hair was a mess and looked like it had been electrocuted, and even her face was black, covered in dirt.

They all knew who the girl was. Of course, it was their little Bunny. But what on earth had happened to her?

Moreover, they had been standing there for so long and she didn’t seem to have noticed them at all. This was unlike her since she was a very vigilant person.

They wondered what she was busy with and what made her so engrossed that she didn’t seem to have rested for a long time, bathed, or done anything else other than what she was doing.

"Should we call her? At this rate, she is going to collapse." Mother Chu suggested it when she saw her baby girl looking like a beggar on the streets.

"No, we don’t know what she is doing and if interrupting her would have any negative consequences. Let’s just wait for her to finish what she is doing." Grandfather Chu rejected that suggestion immediately.

Everyone thought that it made sense. Since they knew nothing about what was happening, it was better not to tempt fate.

They waited outside the study for a whole day and a night before the wait came to an end.

They had also not eaten or rested in that period. Quietly accompanying Chu Miao in whatever she was doing.

All of a sudden Chu Miao jumped up and laughed like a maniac, "hahahaaa....I have succeeded. I have finally succeeded. Hahahaaa..."

Her family looked at her and shook their heads.

"Sweetheart, you should rest." Mother Chu felt sorry for her daughter, especially seeing her behaving like a lunatic.

It was only then that Chu Miao realized that she wasn’t alone.

She looked up and found all the members of her family there, at the door, looking at her with concern in their eyes.

"Grandpa, mom, dad, brother, second grandpa, you all came out of seclusion?" She asked.

"Yes. What were you doing that you didn’t even notice us for so long?" Her father asked with concern.

"Have you been waiting for long?" She asked instead.

"Not long. Just a day and a night." Her brother replied to her sarcastically, which earned him a slap on the back of his head from his father.

"Eh...that long? How long have you been in seclusion then?" Chu Miao had lost all sense of time and didn’t know how long she had been studying arrays.

"A month and a half." It was the butler who answered.

"What!?" Chu Miao was shocked.

She thought that even if it had been long since she started studying the array formations, it would at most be five days.

But, "I have been studying these arrays for half a month?" She asked in astonishment.

When the others heard her, they knew why she looked so bad. Thinking that she had been in the state they had witnessed for half a month, everyone felt their hearts ache. Even Chu Hao, who had been making fun of her, felt sorry for his sister.

"Okay, whatever you have been doing, we’ll talk about it later; for now, go take a shower while I prepare something for you to eat, then go to sleep. We’ll talk when you wake up." Her mother said as she held her hand and pulled her out of the study.

"But I..." Chu Miao started to protest but was shot down.

"No buts Bunny. Go shower, eat, and rest. Whatever it is, we will talk about it once you are well-rested." Her grandfather immediately interrupted her and instructed her with a serious face.
