Su Hu paused when he heard the sobbing voice of a woman. He walked in the direction from where the noise was coming from; it wasn't that he didn't know that with his ability he could not help anyone. It was just that he was used to pretending to be kind and helpful to others. Now that the mask had been worn for so long, even if Su Hu wanted to change, he couldn't.

He approached Jiang Li and then asked her in a soft voice, "Are you alright?"

"Filled?" Su Hu frowned and asked with a bewildered tone. How could these many apartments suddenly get filled? as far as he knew, there were a few apartments that were empty with no resident staying inside.

Jiang Li nodded and replied, "That's right. A very pretty woman brought a bunch of survivors with her and asked them to stay in the apartments downstairs; there is no room left for me."

When Su Hu heard her response, he more or less understood what was going on. He sneered and asked, "Did she pay for the people with supplies?"

"No." Jiang Li shook her head. She understood the concept of making a man feel sorry for her. So, she knew that she had to make Bai Meiyue sound like a bully while whitewashing herself and making her look like a little victim, who had no choice but to suffer in silence.

She knew that her actions were slightly despicable but there was no other choice.

Jiang Li wanted to survive and she was willing to do anything for that.

Thus, after she finished speaking she deliberately spoke in an aggrieved voice, "I had no choice but to hand over the supplies while they all entered without taking out a packet of biscuits. I wonder if just being strong is enough to make them bully the weak."

These past few days, he had been treated like a dirtbag. Now suddenly, he was being looked at as if he was her saviour; it made him feel quite satisfied. Su Hu immediately took her hand and pulled her up from the floor. He calmly said to her, "Don't worry. I have enough supplies for you to fill your stomach."

Jiang Li wanted to hear this from the beginning; she heaved a sigh of relief and took Su Hu's hands in hers with a smile on her lips.

Su Hu brought Jiang Li back to the penthouse where the Bai family was living with the rest of the survivors. When Bai Xue saw Su Hu bringing another woman, she was quite dissatisfied but when she brought up the matter in front of him, Su Hu only shrugged and told her to not think too much.
