Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 72: Gangster?
Chapter 72: Gangster?
Elena and Ethan carefully devised a plan to retrieve the goods that the Iron Gang had hoarded since taking over the city.
As discussed, they would change their appearances to blend in—Elena would make herself an unattractive female survivor, while Ethan would transform into a bulky, intimidating gang member.
Looking at her husband, she sighed;
’He’s way too handsome.’
"Husband, you look so good in this style," Elena said, her eyes shining with admiration.
He was covered in artificial tattoos and wore rugged attire highlighting his muscular build.
The tattered shirt fit snugly on his broad shoulders, and the distressed jeans added to his tough appearance, making him look like a real gangster.
Thankfully, Elena had collected various art materials over the past weeks, including makeup, face paint, and other items perfect for disguises.
Well, her past life experiences taught her the importance of being low-key.
While they needed to fit in with the other survivors, she didn’t want to deprive herself, especially since the space could provide them with food and necessities, making them healthier than others in the future.
The thought of little Mia’s cute face needing to slim down just to fit in with the people makes her distressed.
So, she bought plenty of items effective for disguises.
Now, all her efforts were paying off as she watched her husband transform into a convincing gangster.
’He really looks like one. Maybe he could play a gangster in bed.’
The thought made her cheeks flush, and she quickly shook her head, trying to focus.
’This is not the time for that.’
Ethan smiled at his wife’s compliment, completely unaware of his wife’s dirty thought.
Looking at her, he noticed her expression shift from shy to determined. This change confused him; he was curious about what was happening in her head.
"Wife, why are you blushing?" Ethan asked playfully, a teasing grin spreading across his face.
"Nothing... nothing... maybe just a little bit cold," Elena replied, her voice slightly flustered as she tried to downplay her reaction.
Ethan smirked and stepped closer, flexing his well-defined muscles so she could see up close.
"Cold, huh? Should I keep you warm, Wife?" he said, winking at her with a playful glint in his eye.
Elena felt her cheeks heat up, unable to suppress a blush, but she quickly rolled her eyes at his teasing.
’Her husband now acted like a real gangster.’
Of course, she would never back down. With a beautiful smile, she met his gaze, completely unaware of how disheveled, ugly, and unattractive her face was right now.
In a flirty voice, she said, "Husband, I’m so sooo...cold. I really need a warm hug! And while you’re at it, maybe you could help me slip on my jacket?"
Her playful tone and bright smile made it clear that she was ready to engage in their banter, and Ethan couldn’t help but chuckle and then laugh at her charm.
Elena suddenly realized she was wearing an ugly disguise, and her expression shifted as she glared at her husband.
"You!!" she exclaimed, feeling embarrassed.
"Wife, you are still beautiful no matter what," Ethan replied, trying to reassure her with a warm smile.
’Haist... my wife is angry... I don’t know why. If she wants hugs, I could warm her up.’
"Enough!! Let’s keep moving. I want to leave this city as soon as possible," Elena said, her tone firm as she turned her attention back to their mission.
Ethan nodded while smiling at her with affection.
"Alright, wife, let’s get going," he said, matching her resolve.
They immediately drove the truck left behind by the gang, transporting the supplies back to their base.
"Wife, contact Oslo and update him on our situation," Ethan instructed.
"Yeah, I almost forgot about him. Just give me a second," Elena replied.
Ethan drove the truck slowly while Elena used her [Telepathy] skills to communicate with Oslo.
"Oslo, listen carefully," Elena instructed.
"Keep a close watch on their base and let us know if you see any movement. We are now heading to their base to infiltrate."
"I will, but are you sure about this, sister-in-law? Just the two of you?" Oslo asked, worry clear in his voice.
"Yes, we will rob them covertly. If things get heated, we’ll enter the space and exit at your location," Elena assured him.
"Okay, sister-in-law. Just be careful; by the way, the tornado is getting closer," Oslo warned, glancing into the distance with concern.
"Don’t worry. We will leave as soon as we get the goods," Elena replied confidently.
"Then I’ll wait for the two of you to return. Good luck!"
"Thanks. We’ll be in touch with you," Elena confirmed before cutting off the connection.
After the call, Ethan quickly drove the truck to the base.
When they arrived, the atmosphere felt surprisingly relaxed. The security personnel were busy chatting and joking with one another, seemingly oblivious to the impending threat of the tornado.
Perhaps they were overly confident, or maybe they believed they had secured everything from food to other necessities.
’Then I want it all.’
Elena thought, a mischievous smile spreading across her face as she imagined the valuable goods this gang had stored in their inventory.
When they exited the truck, a security gang captain looked at them with disdain and asked, "Is this the last of the supplies being delivered?"
"Yes, boss," Ethan replied, keeping his tone respectful.
"By the way, where is your team leader?" the security member inquired.
"He’s currently busy, boss. He said not to disturb him and instruct us to deliver the goods," Ethan explained.
"Let him be. Who’s this ugly woman?" the gang member sneered, eyeing Elena with contempt.
"Need a hand, boss, to deliver the items. The boys are all tied up at the warehouse, and no one wants to help, so I’m dragging this woman along," Ethan said, trying to maintain the facade.
"Damn, those boys. Store these supplies in the inventory. You, Baldie, go with them and make sure the goods are handled properly," the security gang captain ordered, pointing to one of his men to guide Elena and Ethan to the inventory area.
Elena and Ethan shared a quick glance, silently acknowledging that the plan was working smoothly as discussed. Now, they were ready to head inside the bunker.
