Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies-Chapter 85: Daily life in space
Chapter 85: Daily life in space
While Elena was putting on her clothes, she continued talking and eagerly asked Little Mia about her daily life in space.
Little Mia then shared her daily routine: she wakes up early, has breakfast with her mom and dad, and afterward watches cartoons with Poochi. She takes a nap in the afternoon, and in the evening, her dad reads her a bedtime story.
"But everyone is busy now, Sis Ewe. I can’t even see you and the others," Little Mia said, her voice filled with sadness and distress.
Seeing Little Mia’s sad expression, Elena immediately rushed to console her.
"If Sis Ele isn’t busy, I promise to play with Little Mia, okay?"
"Yay! Sis Ewe, you’re the best!" Little Mia joyfully exclaimed, her bubbly spirit returning.
After their brief conversation, Elena teleported them to the front of Paradise Hospital. Upon their arrival, she could already hear someone talking inside the hospital ward.
As she approached, Elena couldn’t help but reminisce about their past life and its tragic ending, but she quickly pushed those thoughts aside.
’In this life, let’s make sure we live better and happy.’
Seeing them, Lydia, who was in the hospital bed, started to get up to greet her benefactors. However, Elena quickly dismissed the need for such formality, encouraging her to stay in bed.
Aunt Liza had already told Lydia what had happened after she lost consciousness, and now, seeing her benefactor brought her immense joy.
"You’re still injured, so just stay put," Elena said gently.
"Dr. Ford told me you helped me out of the warehouse. Thank you. I don’t know how to repay this life-saving grace," Lydia replied, her voice filled with gratitude.
Elena looked at her and sighed with relief. Thankfully, they had arrived on time.
’You have already paid me more than I could ever repay you.’
"We haven’t helped you enough. We just happened to pass by, heard some noises, and then found you lying there," Elena said.
"Still, the fact that you brought me to the hospital is more than enough."
Yes, Lydia was unaware that she was inside the space. Elena intended to reveal this once Lydia was fully recovered, as she wanted to recruit her into the team.
"Then, rest for a while. Once you’re healed, we can discuss the life-saving grace you mentioned," Elena said.
Lydia felt happy that Elena was so easy to talk to. She felt closer to her as if they were old friends.
"Thank you again. By the way, do you have a phone? I need to contact my parents," Lydia asked.
"I’m afraid the signal isn’t working right now," Elena replied. "But as soon as it does, I’ll let you know."
Lydia’s parents, the Bennett family, were both marine life biologists specializing in ocean ecosystems. They were currently stationed at the City A Military Marine Institute, conducting important marine research.
Elena wasn’t worried about them for now; the military in City A greatly valued talents like theirs, ensuring they were well protected. fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
Lydia nodded, feeling worried and relieved that she was finally out of that hellish warehouse. After a moment, they left the room to give her more time to rest.
Next, they headed to Little Lucy to check on her situation. As they walked, Aunt Liza finally recalled the words she needed to say to her daughter.
"Young lady, where have you been? I just spoke to Sis Lydia, and you vanished without a word!" Aunt Liza said, waiting for an explanation.
Little Mia glanced at her Sis Ele, seeking help.
"Mom, I went to Sis Ewe’s home. I know you told me not to disturb them, but I miss them! I wanted to see what they were doing and why they were pwaying pwincess carry without telling me. Now, I know Sis Ele is tired, so Brother Tan is cradling her."
Everyone was stunned, left speechless by Little Mia’s innocent explanation.
Elena felt completely embarrassed and shot a glare at her husband, who smiled at her with delight.
While Aunt Liza and Little Mia were engaged in their cute banter, Ethan leaned in and covertly kissed Elena’s lips.
He whispered, "Wife, don’t be shy. We’re already a couple, and this will be perfectly normal in the future."
Elena quickly slapped his restless hands to stop him from getting too naughty.
’Does this man not see his aunt right in front of him? Honestly, have some shame, husband!’
"Mom, I swear I won’t do it again, okay? Please don’t tell Dad later," Little Mia pleaded.
Seeing that Little Mia was on the verge of crying, Elena immediately intervened.
"Aunt, let her off for now; she’s already promised she won’t do it again. If she does, I won’t let her have her favorite chocolate cake."
Elena knew it was wrong to interrupt a mother who was disciplining her daughter, but she had also promised Little Mia that she would help her. She didn’t want to break that promise, knowing the young lady would definitely sulk if she did.
Hearing this, Aunt Liza paused, then crouched down to pick up Little Mia.
"Okay, but this will be the last time you leave without telling Mom, understood?"
"Mom, I will! You’re the best mom," Little Mia exclaimed as she kissed her mother’s cheek.
Everyone smiled as they watched Little Mia’s cute antics.
After a few walks, they arrived at the ward where Little Lucy was currently staying. She remained unconscious and would likely not awaken for a few days. There, they found her brother Daniel, who was meticulously caring for her.
"How are you, Daniel?" Elena asked.
"I’m fine now, Madam," Daniel replied politely.
"’Madam is way too formal; you can call me Sis Ele."
Daniel looked at them and nodded in agreement.
"Your sister is stable now. I will allow you to stay in Paradise for the time being. Since Aunt is currently busy, there’s no one available to take care of your sister. However, once she’s better, we’ll proceed with the marking," Elena informed.
Ethan looked at the kid, who was now calm and had a different demeanor than in the previous few days. He felt intrigued.
’Wife said I should train him, right? Then get ready, kid.’
"I understand, Sis Ele," Daniel replied.
"Then we’ll head out first. Take care of yourself."
They quickly left Paradise Hospital and planned to exit the space. Since Elena had promised Little Mia that she would take her to the outside world, she first asked Aunt Liza for consent, and Aunt Liza agreed immediately.
Today, she was busy experimenting with herbs in the portable research center located in the Northern Black Soil section.
She was worried that Little Mia might get bored watching her work, and besides, Little Mia needed to become familiar with the outside world. This would be a great opportunity since her niece wanted to bring her.
"Little Mia, hold Sis Ele’s hand. We’re leaving now."
"Yay!" Little Mia exclaimed happily.
She eagerly listened to her Sis Ele’s instructions, feeling happy just being with her today.
’I’ll definitely brag this to Poochi!’
Seeing them like this, Ethan couldn’t help but envision a mini version of his wife. He vowed that when the world was stable, he would have many children who looked just like her.
But before Elena could exit, they spotted their missing cat, Mimi. The poor cat was soaked, walking slowly, and appeared quite depressed.
’What happened to her?’
Little Mia was in a good mood until she spotted her cat. Her expression changed to one of disappointment. The cat had been missing for a few days and now returned looking disheveled and unkempt.
"Oh, you’re finally back," Little Mia said, her voice tinged with reproach.
But deep inside, she was worried.
’Why is Mimi back so wet?’
"Mimi, come here! We’ll dry you off," Elena called, but the cat went straight to her husband, acting adorably.
"Meow~ meow~ meow~"
’Please help me, big guy. Capture that big, delicious fish!’
Ethan was taken aback. This was the first time Mimi had gone to him; most of the time, she would follow either Liltte Mia or Grandpa Caldwell if she was hungry.
"Did she swim in the lake alone or by accident?" Ethan asked, trying to find a good reason.
"Did you forget that Mimi doesn’t like water that much?" Elena replied, disagreeing with his assumptions.
They both glanced at each other, confused by the cat’s antics.
Mimi was now looking at Ethan, urging him to follow her to catch the big, delicious fish.
"Meow~meow~" she called, her paw pointing toward the Southern Lake sector.
’Let’s go, big guy.’
But when Ethan did not move, Mimi grew frustrated and trotted over to her best friend, Mia, seeking comfort.
"Wife, maybe she’s hungry?" Ethan suggested with uncertainty in his voice.
"Yeah, let’s bring her with us."
"Meow~ meowww."
’Yes, I’m hungry! I want that big, delicious fish.’
They vanished from space, with Elena holding Little Mia and Ethan carrying their cat, Mimi.
