Ascension of Chaos-Chapter 159 - B2 | 20
Within the Stadium
Silence reigns as everyone within the stadium stares down at the event map. As they watch the other competitors all flee from a single girl who looks no older than eighteen years old, even if they know she's older than that because of Chaos's blood.
Then they all erupt into applause and roars of excitement. With the sole exception of a few corners of the stadium. The corners that are filled with fans of the competitors who had tried to fight Ashley all together and failed miserably at it.
Those fans erupt into hateful shouts at her, only to all be drowned out by the other fans all across the stadium.

A portion of those fans end up switching over to cheering for Ashley instead though, increasing her fanbase even further than before.
And throughout all of this, the MC feels quite happy about how this turned out. Largely because it makes the event she's hosting far more popular, but also because it made her win her bet and earn a massive amount of credits from the whole affair.
Crystal bobs her head and upper body back and forth while humming amidst the roaring stadium.
My beautiful little credit maker down there.
Crystal glances at the System Forums to find clips of the battle already spreading all over for everyone to see. Which is leading to a vastly increased number of viewers watching the livestream of the event and therefore increasing her paycheck for this event.
And if there's one thing Crystal cares even more about watching these events herself, it's the credits she gets from them.
It's too bad I already gave out my recommendation to the Hall of Fame…
Crystal pouts at that thought as she wishes that she didn't give it out to that Successor of Death before.
There isn't anything she can do about it now though, so she just sighs and continues her job as MC, shouting, "And that's it! The grand battle between the hunters and Ashley has finally come to a close, with the Queen of Destruction and now-named Goddess of Lightning coming out on top!!!"
The audience once again roars at that. But the roaring quiets down a little when everyone looks at the map beneath them at the stadium floor and realizes what's about to happen.
As they see the Successor of Sin finally making his way over to the Successor of Chaos.
"It's finally here! The battle we've all been waiting for!!!" Crystal shouts, her voice almost cracking in her excitement. Something she always tries to keep from happening just to maintain her image, but this time clearly shows just how excited she is. "It's the first official battle between the Successor of Chaos and the Successors of Sin, marking a beginning to this war of theirs!!!"
The roars within the arena grow even louder at that, with a single part of the audience going absolutely wild. A part Crystal quickly realizes belongs to the Successor of Sin's fans.
"Will Ashley be able to handle the Successor of Sin's Symbols?! Or will she fail a Pride check and fall into despair like so many others have done?!" Crystal shouts, her excitement growing more and more by the second. "Let's wait and see!"
Within the Event Map
The Successor of Sin, Nidvar Delran, feels absolutely thrilled as he flies over towards the Successor of Chaos. The demon not even caring about how exhausted she looks while he does so. Because he's seen just how much power she has.
And from what he's studied about her so far, her pride isn't anywhere near his own. Even if her willpower could compete with his.

He still isn't sure about why Erebos chose him out of all the Successors of Sin at his own level to go against her first. When he first saw that she was entering a System Event, he wasn't even planning on going in and joining her.
After all, she isn't a worthy target for him. He felt that it was better to leave her to the weaker Successors of Sin to deal with.
But Erebos insisted, and Nidvar is only understanding why now.
This is going to be fun!!! Even with her power severely limited by the Symbol of Pride, this will be absolutely thrilling!!!!
He can't stop the smile from stretching widely across his face as he flies over towards her. And when he finally arrives, he sees the girl in question just glancing at him without a care on her face.
As if he doesn't matter to her.
The sight of her indifference towards him causes his volatile emotions to go into a complete reversal as rage fills him. Followed by the stinging of his own pride.
So what does he do?
He calls forth both the Symbol of Wrath and the Symbol of Pride, using his wounded pride and his anger to fuel them even further.
But he immediately finds a problem with the Symbols that shocks him far more than anything he has seen today.
When the Symbol of Wrath – a dragon's head – and the Symbol of Pride – a lion's head – manifest above his hand, and they try to lock their crimson and purple chains across both his and the Successor of Chaos's body, the chains simply shatter the moment they make contact with her. With a crimson energy breaking out of her body and destroying them instantly.
Then he hears Erebos's voice echo in his head.
"Damned brat seems to be just as immune as her father," Erebos mutters. "Well, thank you for being a useful guinea pig. You can die now." Erebos pauses as Nidvar fails miserably to understand anything about what is going on, then he adds, "If you actually manage to survive, I'll reward you with something."
And just like that, Nidvar feels Erebos's presence leaving his mind again.
It's only a few seconds later as the Successor of Chaos tilts her head with a frown on her face that Nidvar finally understands what just happened.
He was used by Erebos to test out the limits of the Successor of Chaos's immunity to restrictions.
Which apparently extends to the Symbols of Sin.
But even that understanding doesn't break him out of his shock as he stares blankly at the Successor of Chaos in front of him.
Within the Stadium
Crystal and all of the viewers within both the stadium and on the livestream in general stare in silence at what they just witnessed. At the sight of the Symbols of Sin having absolutely no effect on Ashley whatsoever. And each and every one of them still finds themselves questioning whether what they just saw was an illusion or if it's reality.
Even Crystal finds herself feeling rather shocked at the sight.
Until her love of money takes over and she feels overjoyed by the amount of credits she's going to be getting from this battle.
"And here we have it everyone! The Successor of Chaos is immune to the Symbols of Sin!!!!!!" Crystal finally shouts, her voice filling the entire stadium and the livestreams and breaking the veil of silence that had covered everyone. "Was this because of her skill that blocks restrictions that we've seen before? Or maybe it's from a different skill of hers?! Either way, the war against the Successors of Sin has just taken a dramatic turn!"
Cheers finally resound within the stadium now that the veil was shattered, meanwhile the despair within the Successor of Sin's corner is damn near visible to Crystal as they watch their idol staring blankly at the approaching Successor of Chaos in front of him.
"It looks like Nidvar is too shocked to move," Crystal comments with more than a little amusement in her voice. "I wonder if he'll be able to recover before she reaches him?"
She and everyone within the stadium and those all across the universe watching on the livestream fervently hold themselves back from even blinking as they see Ashley slowly approaching the Successor of Sin. And when she makes it right in front of him, she does something that shocks everyone watching.
The Successor of Chaos just waves her hand in front of the Successor of Sin's face as if trying to make sure he's even there.
And what's more shocking to those watching, the Successor of Sin just continues staring with a look of shock on his face.
"I guess he wasn't able to mentally process the idea of someone being immune to his greatest weapons. A drawback of his pride being so great, I suppose," Crystal says with a shrug of her shoulders. "A pity."
After a few seconds of the Successor not doing anything, Ashley just eventually shrugs and draws her sword before slowly stabbing it into the demon's chest.
Piercing one of his three hearts in the process.
Then, after a pause where her Primordial no doubt mentions demons having three hearts, she goes ahead and does the same thing for the other two. Just pulling the sword out carefully and then stabbing his other two hearts.
Leaving the Successor of Sin to fall down dead to the ground.
Not even having put up a fight during their battle.
And as if nothing had happened, Ashley sheathes her sword and puts her hands clasped behind her back as she begins walking away towards the center island.
Leaving the watching viewers stunned into silence once more.
