Ascension of Chaos-Chapter 167 - B2 | 24
Ashley
I frown as I sit in the middle of my booth with my eyes closed. Meanwhile the Tower Master of the Tower of Chaos – I decided at some point to just call him Xan since his name is too long – and Dhalia both stand at the front of my booth in an oppressive silence filled Planetary Council Meeting.
It's kind of surprising how oppressive this silence is considering the number of Successors in here… just because of the presence of two bigshots from outside our planet.
On the other hand, I feel rather irritated by my lacking vision. What with me not being able to see past several meters of where I'm sitting.
Which isn't even enough to see the other booths, much less the people in them. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
I can hear perfectly well though. Better than perfectly well in fact. What with my hearing being enhanced.
It's just annoying not being able to see.
Wait a second…
I purse my lips as I remember the booth around me and a thought comes to mind. So I slowly crack my eyes open before looking at the edge of the booth.
And lo and behold, instead of anything beyond the booth's boundaries beginning to crack and fall apart, the booth's little invisible barrier does. Only for it to repair itself immediately.
Nice! I don't have to go in blind after all!
"My name is Dhalia Velonna Blight," Dhalia declares into the silence, making a chill noticeably go down the spines of some of the people on lower levels of the chamber. One that is, once again, a tower with varying levels and water down beneath each level on both sides of the levels. "One of the advisors of Ashley Sinclair Chaos."
I notice the Black and White Enforcers both flinching slightly at the mention of my name. Specifically how Sinclair was turned into a middle name and Chaos's name moved to take priority over it.
Serves them right.
"I'm Xanderexialusdevami Randorantela Elariousve, humble advisor to the beloved Princess of Chaos and Queen of Destruction," Xan says while saying his mouthful of a name that I can easily tell no one here is able to pronounce. "And I am sure everyone here is already aware that Her Highness will, of course, be participating in the Planetary Official System Event. Of that there is no doubt."
Dhalia nods her head without saying a word, clearly showing her agreement. And I can't help but nod my head as well.
Which leaves the others once again in silence again. But the silence doesn't last too long this time.
Not when Blake breaks it by saying, "That goes without saying." Following which several of the other top people in the room including my birth parents, other siblings, and the Successor of Order all agree as well. Making it absolute already and without any actual opposition.
Not that I could see anyone opposing it to be honest. What with how having me here will make us far stronger.
We've already decided on the event we're participating in, and since it's the Team Challenge Tournament. The one where each side has five members, and they do one-on-one matches until all the members of one team or the other are out.
So I don't have to worry about my eyes hurting my own teammates.
Which is very convenient.
What isn't convenient though is what I hear them discussing as my two advisors stand at the edge of my booth watching over them all. Because they're quickly reaching a decision about the other four participants.
One of them I'm happy about, and another I don't care about.
But the last two?
I am not very happy about at all.
The four other participants in the Planetary Official System Event that they decide on are Blake Sinclair, the Successor of Magic and my twin, Cedric Arran, the Successor of Order, and my birth parents, the Successors of Virtue.
Making all five of the participants Successors of Primordials.
"The other planet you'll be facing will likely end up throwing a tantrum about this," Chaos mutters, sounding more than a little amused at this development. And probably for good reason.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.
After all, we're taking five Successors to fight another world. In a Class E event, since our planet is technically still Class E.
What with the requirements to advance the world's Class being not only the average user's Class but also having won a certain number of Planetary Official System Events.
And we haven't even competed in one yet.
So I wouldn't be surprised if we end up facing a Class E or two.
Most of them should be above Class E though. Seeing as these events take the strongest from every world. Or the ones picked by the council of the planet at least.
And I'd be hella disappointed if this other world didn't even have a single Class D.
Actually, I'd be disappointed if they didn't even have five for a whole team.
"Does it really matter, though?" Chaos says, still with amusement in his voice. "You're just going to steamroll them anyways."
True.
That'll be interesting.
Then I can finally get that skill to let me focus on what my eyes destroy. Which will be a very nice addition.
Because being unable to see things is getting annoying as hell.
I think I've almost killed a couple people on accident when glancing down at the base of my Spire actually.
My thoughts are interrupted when a notification appears in my vision.
A majority has been reached, choosing the following five users to participate in the upcoming Planetary Official System Event:
Ashley Sinclair Chaos
Blake Sinclair
Cedric Arran
Sebastian Sinclair
Catherine Sinclair
The Planetary Event will commence in five hours' time.
Please make any preparations you may need until then.
I blink once, then twice at the notification. Then a slightly awkward expression spreads across my face. One that I see mirrored on a lot of other peoples' faces.
Mostly at the sight of the four Sinclair names on the list of participants.
I glance at the Successor of Order, just to find the usually stoic and stone-faced guy looking rather awkward as well. Like he's intruding on some family gathering or something.
On the other hand, Sebastian and Catherine – I decided I'd stop calling them my parents – are trying to catch my eye. But I ignore them entirely. And Blake just looks amused.
After the matter about the Planetary Event, the members of the council all are given chances to bring up their own problems to discuss. Following which the council ends without much else happening. Leading us all to be teleported back to where we were before the council began.
I just walk over to the edge of my Spire and lie down on my back, waiting for the event to begin though.
Because I don't really have any preparations to be made. And there aren't any powerful Domains around the area.
Plus, even if there were, I wouldn't have the time to clear them. So there really isn't much else to do other than lie here staring at the sky.
"How do you feel about knowing you will be able to see again soon without killing people on accident?" Chaos asks as the Primordial suddenly appears floating over my head with his body parallel to the ground, albeit with his legs in the opposite direction of mine.
"Good," I answer out loud with a faint smile. Meanwhile the Primordial moves to sit and then lie down next to me.
"Y'know, you don't have to limit yourself to just one Planetary Official System Event every two months," Chaos says, to which I nod my head in understanding. "And I'm sure the council will agree that doing more of them will benefit Val."
They probably will.
And I'm happy to be getting a much larger supply of Skill Points. So it's fine with me.
Seconds pass in silence. Then the seconds turn into minutes.
After half an hour passes of us just lying here, I go ahead and ask Chaos, "Hey, you mentioned having other forms? Could I see them?"
I'm curious.
Chaos chuckles as he hears the inner part of my statement that I didn't say out loud. Then he stands up and offers me a hand, to which I take.
And without a word, a cloud of black and crimson mist appears around him before he turns into a large raven.
A smile spreads across my face.
He really does look a lot like me in my raven form.
Or I guess it's the other way around. That I look like him.
After that he turns into a different form. One that looks a lot like his usual humanoid form.
Except that he is now a she.
Huh.
That is odd to see.
The only real difference is that Chaos now has a chest right around the same size as mine, with a figure you'd see in a model magazine. Since his hair was long to begin with and all. And his, or her? Chaos's height hasn't changed.
It only takes a few seconds before Chaos returns to his usual male form though with an amused grin on his face telling me that he finds seeing my reactions interesting.
I ignore that look to lie down again.
As I wait for the event to begin with anticipation heavy in my heart.
For the day where I'll be able to see again without destroying things.
