Basketball System: Rebound of the Underdog-Chapter 627: Sport Conqueror
Kai wanted to test out his new ability. With his stats higher, he realized there was a possiblity he could also play other sports better.
He had become a naturally athletic person!
"So, what are we doing here again?" Max asked as he looked at the wet floor.
"Swimming, it looks like," Zheng answered.
Max sighed. "I know what we're doing," he said. "I'm just asking why we're doing it."
"To increase our speed on the court," Kai answered, trying to convince them. However, in reality, he just wanted to see if his stats would help him in other sports, too.
Besides, Coach Xu Wei had closed the court, saying they shouldn't push their bodies too hard when the championships were approaching!
"Didn't coach ask us to rest?" Jimmy asked, looking around the pool.
The games for swimming had come to an end, and as usual, team China dominated and achieved gold all throughout. However, there were still some athletes left, glancing at the basketball team like they were fish out of water.
"You guys can leave if you want," Kai said, making the others purse their lips.
"Well," Max said. "There are some cute girls here."
Zheng patted his back. "You get me."
Jian raised his hands. "I have Kimmy," he said.
The others rolled their eyes while Jimmy groaned in disgust.
"I just want to show that I'm better at Kai in swimming," Jian said with a wide smile. "He might be better at me in basketball now, but I am still the original most athletic person in Jilin!" he proudly said.
Kai then turned to Jimmy. "You can go then."
However, Jimmy stayed rooted in his spot. "I can swim fast, too."
Kai shook his head in amusement. "Then, why the heck were you all complaining for a while ago? Let's go!"
The boys stood in their respective lanes, stretching like they were a part of the swimming team.Jian adjusted his goggles, treating this like a real competition.
Nearby, the Chinese swim team lounged on the benches, watching the scene with mild interest. A few whispered to each other, wondering what the basketball team was up to.
"3… 2…1…"
The boys dove in all together, their bodies hitting the water without much sound. For athletes of another sport, they had pretty good forms. Jian and Max quickly pulled ahead. However, Jimmy and Zheng weren't too far behind.
However, of course, Kai, with his newly upgraded system, couldn't be compared to them. The pool had become his court, and his body moved like he was a male siren!
Within seconds, he caught up to the others.
"Is that Kai Guo?" one of the swimmers asked. "How the heck is he so fast?"
"I think he's even faster than me!"
"He looks like a shark!"
They were fully captivated, leaning forward on their bench.
Kai reached the far end of the pool, turned with a flawless flip, and shot back toward the starting line. His speed was undeniable, and the water seemed to part for him!
By the time the others had accomplished the flip, Kai had completed one whole lap.
He waited for the others with a proud smirk. He felt his heart racing, making him want to swim again.
Then, one by one, the other boys arrived, thinking they had made it. However, they quickly frowned when they saw Kai looking at them with a proud expression.
"Of course," Max said, shaking his head.
"One more?" Kai asked, propping his hands up the edge to stand up.
He emerged from the water. Droplets cascaded down his lean, muscular frame as he ran a hand through his dripping hair.
For a moment, he stood there, breathing steadily. He was the image of an athlete in his prime.
The swim team erupted into applause, some even pulling out their phones to record.
Max pulled himself out of the pool, panting heavily. He glared at Kai. "Alright, show-off. You win. Again."
However, that wasn't the worst part. Just then, a swarm of girls went to where they were, and of course, they all had good things to say about Kai.
Zheng pursed his lips. "I think it's time to go now."

Kai sighed in relief as they headed toward the exit.
"Phew," he said. "I've never wanted to escape that place so bad."

Zheng and Max turned to each other. "He's the only main character who would deny a harem," Max said. "What a disappointment."
"I don't want to go back yet," Zheng then said, wanting to interact with more athletes. "Let's pass by the volleyball court!"
Max and Jimmy heartily agreed. Meanwhile, Kai and Jian followed after them silently.
They arrived at the volleyball court, where their national team seemed to be having their practice.
Without warning, a ball came flying toward them, spinning with surprising speed. Instinctively, Kai stepped forward, his body reacting before his mind even registered the movement.
His hands rose, perfectly positioned. With a sharp smack, he received the ball, and the force of the impact absorbed effortlessly. The ball hung in the air for a split second before dropping gently to the ground.
The volleyball players paused mid-game, their eyes widening in surprise.
Max's jaw dropped. "You've got to be kidding me."
Zheng blinked, shaking his head to clear his vision. "Was that…was that a textbook receive?"
Jimmy pointed at Kai, his voice rising. "Are you secretly a volleyball player, too?"
Kai scratched the back of his head, looking slightly sheepish. "Not really. That was my first time trying."
Jian gaped at him. "Is there any sport you're not good at?"
Kai smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Guess you'll have to keep testing me to find out."
The others groaned. However, their laughter soon filled the hallways as they walked away from the court. Behind them, the volleyball players exchanged looks, clearly as stunned as everyone else.
Max pursed his lips, shaking his head. "Alright. I've had enough for today. Let's just go back before this guy decides to conquer another sport."
