Chapter 101: [Fish] - Nerio’s Part (13)

Silvanus gathered all the comments he had seen, along with the attitudes of William’s family members. Ultimately, he decided to show off his trophy to Mr. and Mrs. William first.

Standing in front of their room, Lucian didn’t even bother to knock—he walked right in.

"Father, Mother, look at me!"

Lucian spun around once, his eyes filled with anticipation as he looked at Mr. and Mrs. William, waiting for them to shower him with the compliments he craved.

Mrs. William immediately walked up to him and said dotingly, "As expected of my son—you’re even more dazzling than before!"

Mr William nodded in satisfaction. "You look even better than before. Truly worthy of being the heir to the William family."

Mrs William’s brows furrowed slightly as she asked, "So what about his body? Did you take hid?"

She suddenly stepped closer to Lucian, her nose twitching as if she’d caught a strange scent. Her eyes widened—so wide they looked like they were about to pop out.

D disgusted, Lucian took a step back and said, "Of course I ate it. That beautiful body’s bound to be nourishing. What’s wrong with you, Mother? Did you look in the mirror or something?"

Mrs William probably hadn’t expected to be questioned like that. Flustered, she said quickly, "No, I didn’t look in the mirror. I just caught a strange smell from you. My precious boy, come here, won’t you?"

She reached her arms out. But Lucian didn’t move toward her—he only bowed his head slightly and said softly, "Strange smell?"

"You saw Elena."

The moment he said that, both Mr and Mrs William’s expressions changed.

Mrs William screamed, "That thing is a monster—it should be dead! Don’t refer to it like it’s your sister! My foolish child!"

Mr William’s face turned cold. "How often have I told you to remove that painting from your room? Do you see now how that monster seduced you? Nothing good can come of it. It’s all just an illusion. Get rid of that painting by the end of today, or you’re not coming to the god offering ceremony with me!"

Lucian frowned, his lips pressed tightly together, clearly displeased. He wasn’t afraid of his parents—their constant doting had given him that confidence. And with his current face, he was far from annoying even when pouting.

Mrs William almost melted seeing that expression on her son’s face. Her husband was clearly in the wrong for being so harsh!

She quickly said, "Alright, alright, forget it. You don’t have to throw it away. Your father was saying that. Where the painting goes is your choice."

Lucian pursed his lips at his mother, then looked at his father. Mr William stood still, saying nothing.

Finally, Lucian lowered his head and said softly, "I’ll throw it away," then turned around and left without another glance at them.

[I swear, Mr. William felt crushing guilt right then!]

[With that face and that expression, the entire world owes Lucian an apology, hahaha]

[And now that Lucian is Nerio, with that face—somehow he seems way more likable, hahaha]

Mr and Mrs William looked at each other and finally just sighed.

Mrs. William growled, "Those people better kill Elena, or they can all die together—every single one of them is just so hateful!"

Mr. William nodded. "Soon. Elena will make her move, and whether they want to or not, those people will have to fight her. That will be our chance to wipe out both sides."

Mrs William nodded in agreement with her husband’s words.

Just then, Cocona strolled through the door, followed by the others—exhausted and worn out. Leonard kept his head low, lost in his thoughts. In the previous battle, he hadn’t managed to do anything. No one could say whether he was blaming himself now or thinking about something else.

Cocona glanced at him but didn’t pay much attention.

At that moment, hurried footsteps on the stairs caught everyone’s attention. Cocona turned around and saw Benjamin and the others rushing in, their expressions tense. She couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

"What the hell happened? A demon chasing you or something?"

She laughed as she said it, not thinking much of the situation. Benjamin couldn’t have had it much worse if all she had faced were low-level monsters with nothing but numbers on their side. His clothes weren’t even dirty.

But Benjamin’s following words wiped the smiles from every face in the room.

"Lucian tricked Eryon—we have no idea where he is now!"

The moment the words left Benjamin’s mouth, Leonard vanished from sight, moving with astonishing speed. He flung open the door to their room—but no one was inside. Not even a trace of Eryon.

"No way..." Leonard muttered.

Cocona’s brows drew together as she said coldly, "We never should’ve left him alone in the first place."

At this point, Eryon’s fate seemed sealed—he had surely died at Lucian’s hands. No matter how calm or composed he appeared, the truth remained: he was just an ordinary human.

"He was supposed to come with us. You’re the one who told him to stay behind." Leonard turned to Cocona, his voice level, but the bloodshot veins in his eyes betrayed the storm of emotions boiling beneath the surface.

Cocona, who was already feeling awful about Eryon’s disappearance, snapped coldly at his words: "You make it sound like I wanted him to die! Staying behind has always been the safest option for a newcomer!"

"Do we have to argue about this? The truth is, Eryon was just an idiot. Overconfident. That’s why he followed Lucian—and he’s dead." Bella chimed in from the side, utterly indifferent to Eryon’s fate. He might’ve been interesting and a little strange, but his attitude had always rubbed her the wrong way.

"I’m going to look for him. He’s got to be out there somewhere!" Leonard said and turned to dash upstairs—but stopped short.

He froze, staring upward with shock and doubt on his face.

Everyone else noticed his reaction and followed his gaze—only to see Eryon standing at the top of the staircase, wearing a magnificent outfit and a proud, almost arrogant expression. The outfit was identical to Lucian’s.

"Where have you been, Eryon? We told you to stay in the room. Everyone’s been worried about you," Ron said, frowning.

"No. That’s not Eryon." Cocona’s voice cut in sharply by Ron’s ear, making him start in surprise. It was only then that he noticed—Eryon’s height had changed.

Or worse—nothing about Eryon had changed.

Only Lucian had switched to a new face.

The stares of suspicion, anger, and disbelief from all the humans below delighted Lucian. His mood soared.

"Well? You’re mesmerized by this stunning new face of mine, too, aren’t you?" he said smugly. "Can’t deny it—I’m absolutely in love with it. A perfect face."

Lucian gently caressed his face as he spoke, the smugness and self-admiration written all over him, impossible to hide.

It was still the same face, the same narcissism—but something about Lucian just made people want to hack him into pieces.

"You bastard!" Leonard growled, seemingly ready to lunge forward. But at that moment, Cocona’s steady hand suddenly caught his arm.

At the same time, Lucian’s mocking voice rang out:

"Oh? Aren’t you all supposed to be looking for the demon in the castle? Why are you suddenly all staring at me like that? How rude."

"You are the demon," Cocona said coldly, eyes locked on Lucian.

Before Lucian could respond, Mr. William’s icy voice cut in:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve said this before—exorcists or not, you cannot make such accusations so recklessly. Lucian is our son. Our family has ways to protect ourselves from demons. If any of you say something like that again, I won’t tolerate it."

His expression darkened—one could easily imagine that if Cocona’s group kept pressing the accusation, these "monsters" might reveal their true faces.

Cocona wanted a real fight. She didn’t think she would lose. But if these monsters died and took the castle’s secrets with them, then even a victory would leave them stranded inside. For now, she had no choice but to hold herself back.

"And how do you explain that Lucian suddenly has Eryon’s face?" Benjamin suddenly demanded, his voice direct and accusatory. freёnovelkiss.com

Mr. and Mrs. William turned to look at Lucian, then at the humans before them.

"Lucian’s face has always looked like this," Mr. William said calmly. "What are you all talking about? I don’t recall any of your companions having a face like this. Are you sure you’re not mistaken?"

Just as Benjamin was about to speak again, a hesitant NPC voice suddenly chimed in:

"That’s right... Benjamin, maybe you are mistaken? Young Master Lucian has looked like this since we arrived in the castle. We don’t have any companion who looks like him..."

It was the long-haired man and a few other NPCs—drawn out by the noise, they’d come to see what was happening, only to witness the strange behavior of Benjamin’s group.

At that moment, Lucian suddenly said,

"Could it be... that the exorcists are affected by the demon?"
