Morgana searched every inch of the palace for her brother. He needed to give her better answers for why Xavier was still married to the outcast.

"Darius!" Morgana yelled as she pushed open the doors of his private chambers. ’You," she stared at Juliana. "Aren’t you Viviennee’s friend?"

Juliana tidied her appearance. "I am still the queen’s close friend. It is only fitting that I join her to serve the king. I haven’t gotten the chance to sit with you."

Morgana folded her arms, trying to make sense of Juliana’s time with her brother. "You will never sit with me. I don’t think you should be sitting anywhere near my brother. Leave us."

Juliana looked at Darius for what he wanted to do. After all, she didn’t serve the princess.

"Didn’t you hear her?" Darius asked, ignoring Juliana’s stare. He was already bored of her and was quite close to leaving the palace to see Natalie.

Juliana frowned. After all the time she had with Darius she thought he would want her around a little longer or at least tell the princess she couldn’t order her around.

"This is beneath you, brother. Using a friend of the queen isn’t a good look and I am not so sure I like this one," Morgana said, giving Juliana a second look.

"She wasn’t the one I wanted at first but Vivienne changed her mind," Darius revealed just before Juliana could leave the room.

Morgana smiled, noticing Juliana’s reaction. "Don’t you find it a little suspicious she would offer her friend? The queen is planning something and she is part of the reason why I have come to you now. She’s still in love with Xavier."

"Not this again," Darius sighed.

"You know it as well. I have been all caught up on what I missed while I was mourning the lost-"

"You were not mourning. No one died, that bastard just got married. Vivienne knows better," said Darius.

"I know since you are my brother you would expect me to say that Vivienne is madly in love with you but when a man like Xavier is involved, I cannot lie to you. I have seen the woman he is with now and I don’t understand it," Morgana said, still confused as to how she lost Xavier.

Darius closed his eyes, thinking of Selene. "Selene is a beautiful woman."

"No, she’s a thief whose head has gotten so big that she orders around his servants. I don’t like her for Xavier. I cannot lose to a woman like that. I was promised Xavier Blackthorn and I will not stop until I get him," said Morgana.

"I hope you have not come to ask that I force him to marry you. I am now too old to be helping you with this," Darius said, turning down Morgana before she could ask. "But, it would be a lovely gift if you get his wife to come to me."

Morgana rolled her eyes, disgusted by Darius lusting after Selene. "You have lost your mind if you are smitten by that woman. You should smell how her scent filled his home. His guards rushed to protect her. I want her dead. I will kill her."

"You will do no such thing. I’ve already planned for Selene to find a place here by my side. She is a beautiful woman who brings something to be entertained by. You can ruin their marriage for all I care but I will have Selene," said Darius.

Morgana hated that Darius was moving too slowly to claim Selene as his. Morgana wasn’t interested in giving him another woman to bed. She wanted Selene gone so she never had to witness Xavier trying to get back with the woman he was married to before her.

"Have the Blackthorns not spoken of what they will do about this woman? I thought of meeting with Nathaniel or Josephine. Surely, they must have wanted better for their son and that could only be me," said Morgana.

Darius lost interest in what Morgana wanted to speak about. "Why would the Blackthorns speak to us about Xavier’s marriage? Don’t go to them since they will only ignore you. That marriage will end. Trust me. You only need to wait."

"I cannot wait since a child could come from this and I would never raise a child belonging to that woman. Haven’t you looked into what her parents did to tie her to it? You would have her in the palace under your control and if you could find she was in on their plans, you could trap her here," Morgana suggested.

Darius laughed since Morgana was late with this plan. "I have already begun to dig up what her parents did. You must trust me when I say that I want her away from Xavier just as much as you do. Be patient, Morgana. Find a man to warm your bed until you get Xavier."

"I already told you that you are not to speak of that kind of thing so casually to me. I don’t like it. I’m afraid that I cannot wait for your plans to be done with. I must take matters into my own hands and show him what he is missing," Morgana said, plotting her next move.

Darius knew Morgana was likely to fail but since she was finally out of her chamber, he decided to keep quiet to stop her from becoming a mess again.

"I am busy fighting to keep my place as king and to have another child. Either with Vivienne or with one of the other women I will bring to my side. I am only entertaining that woman to toy with Vivienne," Darius said, no longer interested in Juliana. "Prepare to send her back."

Morgana didn’t think it was a good idea for her brother to use Juliana and toss her to the side. "You invited her to be in the palace. You can’t have your way with her and then send her out. This won’t work like it would work with mixed-bloods or humans."

"I am not getting rid of her right now. I’ve slept with her enough that she could be carrying my child. It’s a waiting game now but in the meantime, I will search for the next woman. The third spot already belongs to Selene," Darius said, pouring himself a glass of wine as he spoke.

"Is it because she is Xavier’s wife that you are interested in her? I don’t see why else anyone would give her a second glance," Morgana said, refusing to believe Selene was that good.

"Your jealousy won’t allow you to see her beauty. Xavier picked her over you so that means she’s good for something. Rather than deny she is a wonderful woman to look at, think of how you will find your way back to his side," Darius advised Morgana.

"I have already thought of it. The queen has started to turn the other pureblood women on Selene but what she did is childish. I will take over ruining Selene. I want you to get your wife to focus on you and not Xavier," said Morgana.

It had annoyed Morgana to hear that Vivienne was once with Xavier and now, she realised Vivienne was still in love with him.

"Vivienne will need to give up and focus on you because I will be the first one to have Xavier’s child and become the next Blackthorn," Morgana revealed.
