Bleach : I Need To Rizz To Become Stronger ?!-Chapter 63: Unohana Who Can Endure Solitude
Chapter 63 - Unohana Who Can Endure Solitude
The Kuchiki Clan's promised gift arrived the very next day—far more generous than Shin had expected: fifty million kan. Naturally, Shin received the money with a huge grin, even though he knew that for the Kuchikis, it wasn't even a drop in the bucket.
Since arriving in this world, Shin had never seen so much money. The entire cultural festival budget barely reached a few million.
With cash in hand, Shin felt bold, confident. He could finally renovate the entire Student Council office. New furniture? Done. Upgraded fittings? Absolutely. No more putting up with Kōgorō Kasadōji's penny-pinching!
He even planned to install a bed in the private office—his own money, his rules. Let's see who dares complain.
Shin already imagined his smug confrontation with Kasadōji, flaunting his authority as Student Council President.
—
Two days passed. Finally, Shin received word from the headmaster regarding the official findings of the World of the Living internship incident.
And what he learned stunned him.
The Gotei 13 had declared the culprit to be a criminal who escaped Soul Society over fifty years ago:
Urahara Kisuke. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
The supposed motive? A deep-rooted grudge against Soul Society and a long-planned act of revenge.
Shin was speechless for a moment. Then, the headmaster elaborated: the assailant had worn a cloak capable of suppressing spiritual pressure and concealing their appearance—a prototype originally developed by Urahara.
Although the current 12th Division's R&D Bureau also had access to such technology, Squad 1 had immediately launched an investigation after the incident. Every registered cloak was accounted for. None missing.
And the one worn by Shin's attacker? Torn. Damaged. Not one from the R&D Bureau.
Conclusion: it could only have come from Urahara Kisuke.
But considering Urahara had once been a captain, it seemed unlikely that he himself had been defeated by Shin. So the conclusion was amended: the attacker must have been one of Urahara's subordinates.
Shin was baffled—and almost amused.
It was obvious to him: Aizen had tampered with Squad 1's perception during the investigation, likely using Kyōka Suigetsu's complete hypnosis to manipulate their conclusions.
But even so, pinning it on Urahara? That he hadn't expected.
Urahara Kisuke was already a fugitive, hiding in the World of the Living. Fifty years had passed without Soul Society capturing him. Declaring him guilty again—what would that even accomplish?
"What about the Reverse Membrane?" Shin asked.
That mysterious beam of light had appeared at the last second, shielding and retrieving the cloaked man. It was a known Hollow technique—an emergency extraction used to rescue their kind. Once inside, the target was placed in an isolated dimension, beyond reach.
All Shin could do at the time was watch the enemy vanish.
Shōsō Sasakibe answered, "That concerns classified information. But Urahara Kisuke does have deep ties with Hollows."
Shin rolled his eyes internally.
Saying Urahara was connected to Hollows probably referred to the Hollowfication incident fifty years ago. Another of Aizen's masterpieces.
What would Urahara say, Shin wondered, if he knew that even after fifty years of exile, Soul Society was still scapegoating him?
Sasakibe continued, "The reason for these repeated incidents may lie in the fact that the first Hollow's appearance revealed the coordinates of the barrier zone. The school has already worked with the Gotei to abandon that old pocket dimension. A new training zone is being constructed for future internships. This way, such breaches will no longer occur."
So they'd even patched the logic neatly?
Shin sighed inwardly. The real enemy was still hiding within the Gotei 13, and all this was just busywork.
But outwardly, he simply nodded. "That sounds wise."
Sasakibe patted his shoulder. "Shin, we're grateful again for what you did."
Shin gave a half-smile. "With great power comes great responsibility. I'm strong—naturally I take on more."
Sasakibe chuckled. "Well said. With that mindset, you'll be a blessing to Soul Society one day."
But Shin didn't feel proud or flattered.
That battle in the World of the Living had made one thing clear: he still lacked real combat experience against other Shinigami.
His victory had relied heavily on the power of his Zanpakutō.
If he had been better trained, he might've ended it with swordsmanship alone.
In the Academy, his sparring partner was usually Hisagi. That wasn't enough.
Shin began calculating: who else could he train against to sharpen his edge?
—
The news of the internship incident spread through the Seireitei like wildfire.
In Squad 4, Vice-Captain Isane Kotetsu hurried into her captain's office, clutching a recording crystal.
Captain Unohana Retsu raised her brows slightly, a flicker of curiosity in her otherwise serene expression.
This incident didn't technically concern Squad 4. But Isane had heard enough rumors to know Unohana was... interested in Tachikawa Shin. So she'd made a trip to Squad 1, copied the battle footage, and rushed back.
"What is it?" Unohana asked gently.
Isane explained, "A few days ago, Academy students conducted a simulation training mission in the World of the Living. They were attacked by an unknown enemy. Tachikawa-kun stayed behind to cover the retreat and defeated the intruder. This is a recording of the battle."
"I see."
Unohana remained composed.
Isane stepped forward and placed the crystal gently before her captain.
"I'll leave it here."
"...Very well."
After a pause, Isane asked carefully, "Captain... don't you want to watch it?"
Unohana gave a serene, inscrutable smile. "Later, perhaps."
Isane didn't press further. Though she, too, was curious, she bowed. "Then I'll take my leave."
When the door closed, Unohana didn't even glance at the crystal.
She simply stored it in the bookshelf, like it was of no importance.
Tachikawa Shin still had over a year before graduating from the Academy.
Watching now served no purpose. It would only bring her unnecessary "distractions."
In the past six months, she had heard his name many times.
A genius, a prodigy, a monster of potential...
But in the end, he was just another student. No matter how brilliant or talented—how far could he really go?
Compared to that man from her past, what was Shin?
Still far too weak.
He needed time.
Fortunately for Unohana...
She had already lived for over a thousand years.
