Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 114: Manipulation
Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Manipulation
Jasper, however, remained perfectly calm. He glanced at Nora, then back at Miles.
"And what exactly do I ’want’ from her?" he asked, his voice laced with amusement.
Miles hesitated for a split second—just enough for Jasper to notice.
If he told the truth, then...investor Dawn would have a bad impression of him.
Jasper suddenly turned to Nora.
"Well, Bell," he said, his voice smooth as ever, "do you feel manipulated?"
Nora smirked behind her veil.
She slowly lifted her wrist, looking at the bracelet, then at Jasper.
"Hmm," she hummed, pretending to think. Then, with an air of amusement, she said,
"Not really. If anything... I feel rather spoiled."
Laughter rippled through the crowd.
Miles’ expression twitched.
Jasper chuckled. "Then I suppose that means you have no case against me, Miles."
Then he paused and continued,
"Also I don’t have the bad habit of giving random women gifts. It’s my half-brother, you all know him."
Miles opened his mouth to deny it when Jasper mouthed the words,
’You will be dead meat if you oppose me.’
In an instant, all of his bravado faded.
He dared to expose Jasper, thinking Dawn would feel betrayed and ban Jasper. But to his dismay, Dawn actually ignored him!
This could only mean that all the risk he took was for nothing and he would be doomed if he dared to continue.
The smart choice right now would be...
"Yeah! I seem to have mistaken Mr. Jasper’s half-brother as him. I apologize."
Jasper wasn’t planning to let go and continued,
"In fact, I would consider accepting your apology if you punish the real culprit."
Miles took the hint, and his face paled.
Jasper wanted him to punish Alex.
But the problem can Miles dare?
Alex though not favored by Jasper’s father, was still his son. Would Jasper’s father let Miles off?
As if sensing his question Jasper said with a meaningful gaze,
"I got to know about my half-brother’s mischief too and hence I am imposing a ban on him. My father is completely fine with it."
Miles swallowed hard, his mind racing.
If Jasper had truly obtained his father’s approval to punish Alex, then standing against him would be nothing short of suicide.
With no other choice, Miles forced a smile.
"Of course, Mr. Green. If your father has already agreed, then who am I to say otherwise? Your half-brother’s actions have certainly been reckless, and I will ensure he faces the consequences."
Just then a young man with black hair and blue eyes wearing a blue suit, with a height of about 190 cm walked inside.
He had a chiseled jaw and fair skin. His deep brows, and straight nose, made him look like a celebrity
Aurora was stunned by how handsome the man looked.
"Wow, he could almost rival Lucas!"
Jasper looked at Alex and smirked.
’Looks like even the luck is on my side.’ He thought and walked toward Alex.
"My dear big brother, what are you doing here."
At his words, an uproar was caused in the banquet hall,
"Is this the half-brother Mr. Green was talking about?"
"I guess so." freeweɓnovel.cѳm
"So we have to ban him?"
"Well if you don’t want to get on the bad side of Mr. Green, then yeah."
Alex pushed Jasper’s hand away and whispered sharply, "Stay away from me."
Jasper only chuckled and grabbed Alex’s arm again.
"Come on now, big brother. The fun is just beginning. Where were you going in such a hurry?" He motioned toward Miles with a smirk.
Miles, catching Jasper’s signal, turned to Alex and cleared his throat.
"Eldest Young Master Green, you really should stop flirting with women for no reason. It’s becoming quite the bad habit."
Alex frowned, his sharp blue eyes narrowing.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I don’t even know what you mean."
Miles let out a fake sigh.
"Oh? So you don’t remember giving expensive gifts to multiple women?"
The crowd erupted in murmurs.
Some businessmen exchanged glances, while others pushed their wives, girlfriends, or female companions forward.
One woman, a lady in a red dress with perfectly curled brown hair, stepped up dramatically.
"That’s right! He gave me a sapphire necklace last month. He told me I had the most enchanting eyes he had ever seen!"
A second woman, wearing a shimmering gold gown, nodded quickly.
"Oh, me too! He sent me a designer handbag and wrote a note saying, ’A beauty like yours deserves the finest things.’"
Another woman in a blue cocktail dress huffed.
"He even tried to take me out for dinner, promising that he would make my husband jealous!"
One by one, more and more women came forward, claiming Alex had given them expensive gifts and sweet words.
Some men in the crowd scowled, while others smirked, clearly enjoying the chaos.
Aurora rolled her eyes.
Just from one look she could tell that all of them were lying.
Alex clenched his fists.
"This is ridiculous! You’re all lying! I never gave anything to any of you!"
Jasper raised an eyebrow and turned to the crowd.
"Oh dear, it seems my brother has been quite busy. Since my brother loves to give gifts so much, maybe he should apologize properly.
How about a small compensation? $1 million to each person should be fair. After all, he wouldn’t want to ruin his reputation, right?"
Alex’s expression darkened. "Are you insane?! I’m not paying anyone anything! This is a complete setup!"
Some businessmen, especially those with startup companies, perked up at the mention of money.
One of them, a man in his early thirties, smirked.
"Well, if you’re so innocent, then why would so many people say the same thing?"
Another businessman, who owned a struggling tech company, nodded.
"Exactly. If you don’t pay, we might just have to ban you from future business deals."
A third man laughed, pushing his wife forward.
"Sweetheart, didn’t he send you flowers last week?"
The woman caught on quickly and nodded. "Oh yes! Pink roses, my favorite!"
Alex gritted his teeth. "This is insane! You’re all just making things up because you want money!"
