Chapter 260

Jules’s pov

As Blaze answered the call, my heart was lodged in my throat as a lot of thoughts ran through my mind at the same time.

"Did you do this? You purposely leaked this news from the onset, didn’t you?" Blaze spoke into the phone without stalling or wasting time and I dragged my palm over my face as I began to feel dizzy from my lack of breath.

I could hear Blaze’s father laughing on the other side of the phone, like this was some sort of sick game.

"I proposed a deal to you the last time we spoke, didn’t I?" He finally responded and I frowned in confusion while Blaze snarled in irritation.

"Fuck you and whatever your deal is." Blaze shot back and his father chuckled again.

"I’ll get the kid from your grasp with or without your compliance, so be wistful in your decision." His father continued and Blaze ended the call before he could say anything else. He flung his phone into the bed and let out a long sigh while raking his fingers through his hair.

I stared at my fingers, feeling anger and disguise twist at my inside, directed at myself. Even with my powers unlocked, I still felt ridiculously weak and afraid. Am I not supposed to be confident and untouchable now?

My phone rang after that moment, pulling me out of my thoughts. When I glanced at the screen, anger twisted at every inch of my chest at the name on the caller id. It was Kai.

"You bastard." I spat out on accepting the phone and an amused scoff filled my ears in the next moment.

"So your powers really is back. That’s why you sound confident now, eh?" He drawled and I gritted my teeth, wishing I could strangle him right now.

"Even if you knew everything about me since you’re always with Blaze’s father, did you have to spill everything to Taylor? Was this your plan from the onset? To have him reveal my true identity in school then you’d swoop in like a savior like I

Imagine that’s why you’re currently speaking to me?" As I spoke, his laugh trailed off and I assumed I had hit the nail on the head.

"As a matter of fact, yes. That’s exactly why I’m calling. If you agree to..."

I cut him off before he could finish. "Fuck off, Kai. You’re as worst as the people you dared to advice me to stay away from." I snapped angrily and he spluttered.

"You don’t understand, your life is in danger and..."

"Thanks for worrying about me but I don’t need your help. Thanks for nothing." I ended the call after that and then I was breathing hard and trying to stop myself from hyperventilating.

When my eyes locked with Blaze, he motioned me over and then he was tugging me into his arms and kissing my head, assuring me that nothing was gonna happen to me.

"I feel like a war is incoming at this point. The whole internet is on fire and now, everyone believes you’re a murderer on the run and you’ve been declared wanted." Roy informed me, his eyes never straying from the laptop he was currently typing away on.

I stubbed my hand over my face and let out a frustrated scream on the inside, hating how this was suddenly happening without some sort of warning or notice.

"What are we gonna do now?" I asked after long minutes, feeling my heart pounding against my chest.

"Right now, you’re supposed to be learning how to control your magic, which means we’re supposed to be at Reina’s, who’d hopefully give you lessons, because this way, you’d be able to handle whatever is thrown your way when you come into your full potential. I know you can be able to do a lot of things with your magic because that one move which I witnessed is still mind blowing till date." Blaze began to speak this time. He was standing in the doorway, a can of beer in his hand.

"However, since it doesn’t seem like there’s time for that, we have no other choice than to get into action. Which means we need to attack my dad."

My eyes widened as well as Roy’s.

"Are you sure about that?" Roy asked first and Blaze shrugged.

"We have no other choice. It’s either that or we just wait around till when he strikes." He offered as he walked towards me and took the spot beside me and I instantly leaned into him, feeling my heart flutter a little when his free hand settled on my knee.

"You have a point though. But that’s still dangerous because we’re yet to know his plan. We don’t even know if this is his plan, to lure you guys into his trap. We’d need to be extra careful at this point." Roy reasoned and I bit at the inside of my mouth, mind feeling completely empty.

"You should probably ambush Kai and get him to tell you things. I’m certain he knows everything your father is up to since he’s always glued to his side." Roy offered in the next minute and Blaze hummed slowly.

"You have a point. I can also kiss Kai at the same moment since I’ve wanted to do that for a while." Blaze added, sounding very interested.

"Or you can keep him alive when you get a hold of him and try using him to threaten your father." Roy suggested and Blaze barked out a laugh.

"You think my father would care? He won’t."

Roy snickered. "I think he would. He’d still want someone on his throne after he’s dead, no?"

Kim informed us he was on his way with dinner a few hours ago, but he was still yet to show up and it was almost midnight. Blaze was smoking away, head resting on my shoulder and as for Roy, he appeared quite worried as he kept pacing around.

"You think something has happened to him?" He asked and Blaze snorted.

"He’s so down." Blaze drawled and Roy scowled.

"I’m just concerned about him." He argued.

"Or you like him. Outrightly admit it at this point." Blaze shot back and I found myself staring between the two of them.

"Do you have a thing with Kim?" I asked Roy and he shook his head while Blaze nodded at the same time. I glanced between the two of them and Blaze was about to say something when a phone blared, piercing through the moment.

I was confused at first till I realized it was my own phone. I reached for it and gawked at the unknown number, contemplating ignoring it at first before reluctantly accepting it.

"Uh... hello?"

"Do you want to know the entire truth?" The ai voice spoke and I stiffened, sitting up and Blaze and Roy instantly noticed the shift in my moods.

"What?" I whispered in confusion.

"The truth about everything. About why your family were murdered, about why you were spared, about why your supposed savior deceived you, about why you’re currently being haunted, about the whole truth, Labyrinth."

I stiffened even more, feeling completely lost. Blaze tugged the phone’s from my loose grip and put the call to the loudspeaker.

"If you want to know the whole truth, come to the address I’ll be sending to you. And come alone."

I found my voice this time. "Are- are you insane? Why would I blindly do what an unknown voice asked me to do? Do you think I’m dumb?"

"Yes." The voice responded and I spluttered.

"I- I won’t be coming to any stupid address, so leave me alone." I snapped in response, heart racing and eyes blown wide.

"I’ll send the address anyway. Also, I wonder if the fact that your dear friend isn’t in the hospital anymore and is instead currently in my hostage– might enhance your decision."

"What?" I cried out but the call ended.

I instantly turned a panicked look on Blaze who was already calling the hospital. The berating conversation that followed told me all I needed to know.

"He got taken away by armed men a few minutes ago, the guards I placed to watch him were shot." Blaze explained and I let out a panicked sound as I gripped my hair tightly. When my phone beeped, I knew it was the address the caller had ordered me to come to, and to come alone.

Oh heavens. Why was this suddenly happening?

"Can you track where this text came from?" Blaze asked Roy who took my phone and accessed the text, and then he shook his head.

"It’s from a very secured, untraceable server." He revealed and I got to my feet.

"I’m going to..."

"You’re not going anywhere." Blaze cut me off as he got to his feet as well.

"But I..."

He shook his head firmly. "You’re not going anywhere and putting your life in danger again."

I let out a frustrated sigh and began to pace around.

"Elio might die this time." I cried out and Blaze massaged his forehead, appearing very frustrated.

"Better him than you. You put your life in danger because of him before, you’re not doing that again. This is very selfish of me but I don’t fucking care." He responded flatly this time.
