Carnivals: Claimed By The Deranged Alpha Prince [BL]-Chapter 309: Approval
Chapter 309: Approval
Blaze’s pov
I blinked in surprise, staring at the two people my sister had just introduced to me as her partners.
Two people?!?
I blinked slowly, eyes focusing on the girl first. The girl didn’t have horns or anything and she looked quite innocent and harmless. However, the man standing on the other side of my sister looked like a lot. He towered over my sister a little and had a broad build, he also had horns. His hair was quite long, reaching the middle of his back and he looked like a Greek god. I wasn’t sure of how to feel about him, but I suddenly felt protective towards Raine, because this man looked like he could easily break her into two.
I was still staring at them when I felt a nudge at my side and on glancing sideways, Labyrinth was giving me a flat look which I quickly translated into ’say something already’.
I cleared my throat, and this time, I noticed the uneasy look on the girl’s face, but the man still had a blank expression on. Raine however, was frowning at me.
"Can we talk privately for a second?" I asked her before taking her hand and tugging her along with me till we were outside the large hall where the feast was going on at.
"You don’t approve?" She asked, folding her arms almost immediately and I let out a sigh.
"I don’t... I’m not judging if that’s what you’re already thinking. I just... I don’t think I like that man very much." I stated and she blinked in confusion.
"Oh. You don’t? Why?" She asked and I shrugged a little before sighing.
"He feels dangerous and like he could hurt you, I don’t want anyone to hurt you." I admitted and she blinked at me for a few moments before letting out a long string of laugh.
"You can’t be serious. Jae? Hurt me? He’s as harmless as a fluff ball." She informed me but I only felt my frown deepen across my face.
"With that body? I don’t think so." I informed her, lips pursed. "The girl seemed perfect for you, she’s adorable and reminds me of my mate a little. I’m just not sure about the man." I stated but Raine rolled her eyes before continuing to speak.
"I’m being serious, Blaze! He hasn’t grown into his final form yet like you have! You know you’re the youngest person in history to grow into your final form. He won’t get to that level of strength until decades later." She assured me but I still felt skeptical.
"He didn’t even look scared in my presence, I don’t believe that he’s ’harmless’," I told her as I folded my arms.
"Trust me, he’s scared on the inside but has to appear like he’s unfazed. And of course he’s not completely hopeless, he’s great at martial arts." She revealed and I glanced away from her for a moment.
"What if he hurts you and I’m not here to protect you?" I asked and she leveled me with a flat look.
"I can take care of myself, Blaze! I’m older than you, remember?" She demanded and my frown only deepened once again.
"He really won’t hurt me though. He loves me too much to consider doing that. He’d rather hurt himself before hurting me." She insisted and I let out a resigned sigh.
"Fine, but I’ll still grill him myself." I told her and she rolled her eyes.
"I just knew you were gonna do that. Please don’t go too hard on him, he’s nervous enough as it is." She reminded me but I snorted.
"No promises." I responded but she squeezed my hand tightly for a moment, flashing me a warm smile.
"Your approval means so much to me, you know?" She asked and I stroked my hand over her hair for a moment.
"Which is why I have to ensure you’re with the right person." I pointed out and she was back to rolling her eyes, and after a few moments, we were chuckling softly.
~~~
I didn’t end up grilling Raine’s male partner too much because I didn’t want any bad blood to be between us, but I gave him the traditional warning. If he dares hurt my sister, he could consider himself dead.
The feast resumed but not for long till we were interrupted by raine who spoke loudly till everyone was silent, and then she was officially introducing my mate and I to everyone and everyone were clapping and hooting loudly as my mate and I stood up to wave at them.
After that, Raine began to introduce me to cousins I never knew existed until tonight. Apparently, I even had uncles and aunts here. The cousins varied from old to young, from male to female, and from reserved to extremely rowdy.
As I kept getting introduced, I made sure I was introducing my mate to them in return because I didn’t want anyone here to get the wrong idea that I might be interested in getting together with one of the people from here. I was technically already married to my mate anyway and as soon as we throw a wedding for that, everyone would be aware of that.
After we finally got a little break, I stared down at my mate who had a happy expression across his face as his eyes darted around, looking quite hyped and in a good mood tonight.
I let my own eyes wander around and my eyes fell on Roy and Kim who were still sitting at the table, and they were pointedly staring away from each other. I could feel the tension between them all the way from there and I gently nudged my mate before nodding at the table.
"How long do you think it’s gonna take for Kim to break and give in?" I asked and my mate hummed, a thoughtful expression across his face.
"I’m honestly not sure. It’s been over six months and he’s still yet to break. I think he’s really determined on avoiding having anything to do with Roy."
"For now." I added after a moment, because I was already cooking up a plan in my head. As a friend of Roy, it’s my duty to take matters into my hands in a situation like this.
And that’s exactly what’s gonna happen.
