Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 53: Revenge Planning
Chapter 53: Revenge Planning
Mills brought in a lunch tray for everyone as Magnus continued to tell them what he did after coming to the physical realm. "Thank you, Mills. After getting here, I’m sure you’re wondering how I ended up in the Dragon Clan. Most of the Clan hadn’t seen my face in a while so using a bit of godly magic I was able to alter the minds of several nobles, including your father Dimitri. That’s why he’s never questioned who I am."
Dimitri was surprised that the Dragon God of his Clan would go to such lengths for his daughter. Lily didn’t know what to say and stayed quiet listening to the rest of his story. "After establishing myself, I went about trying to find you. Vestis would hide in plain sight as well needing support to take back what he thought was his. I found out later on that he went right to the Wolf Clan and cemented himself there, like myself."
Dimitri hearing all of this, still had questions himself. "How did no one notice the shift or change in royalty? You couldn’t have gotten them all there are just too many people. And if what you are saying is true then why didn’t you take Lily back when you found her in the Wolf Clan?"
Magnus sighed sitting back and looking at the fireplace. "Rules and politics, my boy. I couldn’t just take her from the Wolf Clan. She had already been taken in as a ward of the Royal family so stealing her was out of the question. When I found out where she was and what was being done to her I used every avenue I had to make sure she went to the Dragon Academy."
Lily looked up at him at this time realizing something as well. "You knew where I was living in the Wolf Palace, didn’t you? That’s why you found my lab full of plants." He smiled when thinking of this memory because when he first saw her lab full of plants it reminded him of her mother. "You are so much like your mother. Healing things that seem broken and protecting with everything you have. Yes, when I heard from the servants and a couple of acquaintances that the ward of the Wolf Clan was cultivating plants I had to see you."
"Why didn’t you take me then? I really needed to get out of there. Just a couple of days later Alisa and the queen beat me for speaking to an official and they never told me which one. Someone must have seen us when you found me that day." The look on both her father’s and Dimitri’s faces told her how much they hated those wolves.
"By now You should already know who was stopping me from taking you. Vestis had his own plans for you and he made sure that if I even tried to take you he would know. The one thing I did to make sure that he would never know it was me he was talking to was to mask my face to someone different. While you see me as I am he only sees another dragon noble. I wanted to see you, but didn’t want to risk your safety."
Lily understood what he meant and found herself laughing out loud. She tried to cover her mouth, but the laughter just spilled out. "So he never knew he was speaking to you, not once?" Magnus shook his head smiling at his daughter while Dimitri looked between the two trying to figure out who they meant.
"Wait I am a bit confused, who is Vestis here in this realm?" Magnus looked at his son-in-law a bit surprised he didn’t figure it out himself. "It’s the Wolf King, Dimitri. Why do you think I couldn’t do anything about taking her back? He knew if any dragon came after her it was for me and he would make sure to lock her away for months in a place I couldn’t find her."
Lily remembered the few times as they put her in a dark hole and barely fed her. She was glad to know someone was trying to rescue her, especially her father. All these years and he had done his best trying to get her back. Offering her the scholarship to the academy saved her life.
Kneeling on the floor in front of her father she pulled him into a tight hug. She felt and understood how difficult it must have been for him all these years of being separated from his mate and child, then having one of them at arms reach he couldn’t even take back. Lily was glad her father found ways to help and guide her. Thinking back she could see how he helped even if she didn’t think that’s what it was at the time.
Magnus hugged her tighter not being afraid of touching her for fear of retribution. "Now, we have several problems to deal with including Vestis. He has driven the Wolf Clan into the ground and has tried to cripple the Dragon Clan for years now out of spite towards me. He needs to be dealt with and now you are aware of all the circumstances."
Lily was thinking about how best to fry that uncle of hers when Dimitri spoke up with an idea. "Let’s keep this information to ourselves for now. Vestis has made you both suffer beyond measure and needs to be reminded that he isn’t the most powerful god. So the best way to do that is to take his power. "
Lily turned to him wondering what he had in mind. Magnus listened to the two of them as they hatched out a revenge plot against the Wolf King. That slimy Vestis has no idea what he’s done messing with these two’s future. Magnus was finally freed from holding back against a god that had taken everything from him and laughed about it. "We are coming for you, Vestis."
