Claimed By A Dragon Prince-Chapter 83: Only so Tolerant...
Chapter 83: Only so Tolerant...
Lily was flabbergasted the hear that these creatures wish to try her for something she had only vaguely been told about. And unlike the rest of the people here she wasn’t one to cower down to someone in power. After hearing these charges what is your plea?" frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"Wait you expect me to give you a plea without knowing your laws or customs? And this being the first time I have ever been here to?! Have you people lost your ever loving minds? you judge based on rumor and suspicion, not fact or logic." Reaching for her power she had just about enough of these f*cking idiots.
Out of the crowd she heard a mans voice speaking out to her. "I told you not to use your power here." Turning to the voice Lily was pissed that she had to go this far. "And I didn’t bring a complete stranger to my home and open it up to a bigger problem. You have two choices here, Shadow Twin. Either I leave you on my own doing what ever untold damage to this place or you let me go and I forget I was ever here. Because the way I see it I was set up and then almost strap with a sentence and crime I was truly unaware I committed."
The people around her hearing this murmured their understanding of the situation. the head council member did not care for this woman’s manners or motives. "Enough this council has the right to rule on anyone in this settlement knowing or unknowing of our ways. So I hereby sentence you....." Lily slowly let her power out, moving around her body sweeping along the air and ground.
Sparks cracking in the air as her body vibrated with energy flowing out of her. The room began to panic because they knew what would happen if the toxin felt the energy build up in the chamber they were in. "Stay calm." Was all Lily said before the toxic slug came seeping through the floor and through the wall of the back of the council chamber.
Some started to whimper in fear others prayed what ever god the worshiped for help as the slug came closer to her. Lily stood in the middle of the room the crowd of people behind her wailing and scream to be saved. The slug bubbled and stunk to high heaven, but Lily was not afraid of it. Reaching for her fire, she breathed out, unleashing the purifying effects of a dragon’s fire breath on this grotesque abomination.
It shrieked in pain as it was incinerated before the eyes of the creatures in the chamber. After letting her Dragon’s Breath destroy and purify the slug Lily felt herself becoming light headed. Having a hard time keeping her balance she felt herself ready to hit the floor from exhaustion. Just before she felt to the floor a strong pair of arms lifted her into the air. The Shadow Twin Caught her in front of everyone looking out a them with disappointment.
"We struggle and we fight, but we don’t judge with prejudice. She didn’t have to do that and did it anyways. You need to rethink how you look at the world because she did." He spoke walking away, back to her room. She had scales in on her skin he noticed in the light and her tails were different as well. He felt slight movement from in his arms, looking down again and she looked just as she did before her change.
*I’m not the only one with secrets. Brother, what kind of creature is your mate?* The Shadow Twin thought to himself as he set her down on the bed, Sunflower looking worried for her. "You, take care of her. I imagine she’ll be hungry when she wakes. Make sure she has what she desires. Show her the hot springs when she wakes, the private ones." Sunflower nodded watch her leader look at the woman with care.
"If you do well with her I may be able to release the silencing spell on your throat. Show me the maker and I may set you free." Sunflower touched her neck then clenched her fist giving him a determined look nodding in agreement with him. Seeing the young girls defiance to her master she must have done something horrible to have had that spell put on her. He would find out what and see if the sentence could be "changed".
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The usual clouds that led her to her mothers pavilion were a bit greyer this time as Lily approached the temple. The lamp lights were low and only one person walked down the hall as she made her way to her mothers room. Turning left she saw a warrior that she never saw before. He was covered in black clothes and ready for a stealth mission. Someone was talking to him before he flitted off out of sight. *What the...?*
What Lily saw next confused her more as her mother stepped out looking out to the warrior that just left. She turned to see Lily walking towards her as she smiled reaching a hand out for her. "It is good to see you, daughter. From what I have been told about recent events you are in quite the situation. Come."
Lily followed her to one of the rooms off the main bedroom area with soft cushions and low tables of tea and treats. Sitting across from her, Artemis indicated for her to serve herself. "How is it that I can eat here and still feel full when I wake up?" Artemis chuckled at her question, but looked at her daughter. "Your soul needs to be just as nourished as your body. Therefore when you each here your recharging your soul, so to speak."
Lily thought about this eating a one of the sandwich squares on her plate. "Huh, good to know it works that way here. Why was I so drained from using my dragon’s breath? I thought all dragons could do it."
"You haven’t trained with your father enough or you would know why. Dragons have to build up their endurance. You mate thought you would walk into it like a god, but even we have to cultivate our power to use it for long periods of time. You have only had 20 years of true raw cultivation and that is jsut raw power at some point it will run low. You have to be careful of that. If you wait until the end to let go of your energy you could take your life energy as well. Only use that as an absolute last resort."
Listening to her mother she could see some of the mistakes she made trying out her powers, especially with where her body currently was. "Do you know why the slug is so attracted to me or is it just the raw energy I draw to myself?"
"It could be both as you and the energy have raw energy flowing through you. Being a goddess makes you raw holy energy. When the toxic slug comes for you does it look starved and hungry, or ready to grab on to you?" Lily thought about this from the council chamber and the slug wanted to grab her not eat her.
"It wanted to grab me. It didn’t look hungry but its slug, appearances can be disbelieving so I simply purified it with my dragon’s breath. I did what Dimitri told me and it felt more powerful the before. That’s what i get for taking two pills." Her mother looked at her funny wondering what she meant.
"I made energy restorative pills to heal myself faster in a pinch. I had to use a very small jewel that could contain a small amount of my energy. I didn’t know it would work until I tried. Taking two at a time though packed quite a punch." Lily rubbed her stomach still feeling some of the after effects.
"Don;t worry, I have something to help with that and you will be able to summon it like you do your swords. Here." Artemis pulled a box out handing it to Lily. Unwrapping it Lily saw that it was a breast plate of thick leather and woven in metal like mesh in the chest and stomach areas. Tuning it over the back was the same and the laces were a strong fiber as well.
"Whats the metal material?" Lily had never seen a metal that moved like a thread without any breakage. It was very strong and durable as Lily inspected it. Artemis smiled at her sipping her tea. "Its my fur, dear. I wanted to protect you in some way and while I can’t leave here I can give you something of me to keep you safe."
Looking at the breastplate corset setup she was shocked her mother put her own fur into the fibers and once more that they were of a metal substance. "So there’s no name fore the metal or do I just call it Artemis Wire?" Her mother gave her a cheeky smile taking a bite of her sandwich. "It’s simply my fur. I never gave it a name or a metal name for that matter because I never thought to use it this way. It is meant for you so use it wisely."
