Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse-Chapter 425 - 33 - Prediction or doom
Skyy rushed to his room, his heart pounding. The diary lay wide open on his desk. Panic surged through him. "I didn't touch it!" he shouted, but Chen only gave him a side-eye and left the room.
Rolling his eyes, Skyy plopped down on the floor, hugging the diary. "Whoever's doing this must really enjoy pranking me," he muttered as he flipped through the pages. A new entry caught his eye. Unlike the previous ones, this one was too serious to be a joke. He bolted to the door, clutching the book tightly. "Chen!"
Chen, who was making eggs for their dinner, startled and dropped them on the ground. Skyy winced. "Sorry. You have to see this." He shoved the open page into Chen's face.
Chen sighed, pulling Skyy's hand away to read the entry at a proper distance. Nonchalantly, he started reading, expecting another diss. But as he read, his expression changed to one of shock. The entry read:
**"Today is the third day I'm going to school. It was kinda fun until it was not. I was pulled out of class again. Chen looked sad. He cried too. It seems his close uncle Prisitsky was hurt by someone."**
Chen's eyes narrowed. "Is this something you can joke about?"
Skyy shook his head vehemently. "No! I didn't write it. It just appears! I swear!"
Chen slammed the book on the kitchen counter and walked away. Skyy stood there, feeling a mix of frustration and fear. He couldn't understand what was happening or why this diary seemed to have a mind of its own.
---
As the night wore on, Skyy couldn't shake off the unsettling feeling. He sat in his room, staring at the diary. The words replayed in his mind. How could the diary know about Chen's uncle Prisitsky? And why did it seem to know things that even Skyy didn't?
Unable to sleep, Skyy decided to take a walk around the secure estate. The night air was cool, and the stars were bright overhead. He found himself at the edge of the property, where the dense forest began. The memory of the shadowy figure he'd seen earlier came rushing back, sending a shiver down his spine.
"Skyy!" Chen's voice called from behind. Skyy turned to see Chen approaching, a concerned look on his face. "What are you doing out here?"
"I couldn't sleep," Skyy admitted. "There's too much going on in my head."
Chen nodded, his expression softening. "I get it. But you need to stay inside. It's not safe out here."
Skyy sighed, knowing Chen was right. They walked back to the house together in silence. Once inside, Skyy couldn't help but ask, "Chen, who is your uncle Prisitsky?"
Chen looked at him for a long moment before answering. "He's a brilliant scientist. One of the best. He's working on a cure for the Prisitsky virus. He's been targeted by many who want his research. Recently, he was hurt in an attack, but he's alive and recovering."
Skyy felt a pang of sympathy. "I'm sorry. I didn't know."
Chen gave a small, sad smile. "It's okay. It's been tough, but we're getting through it. Seeing that entry in the diary—it brought back a lot of memories and worries."
Skyy nodded, feeling the weight of Chen's words. "We'll find out who's behind this," he said with determination. "And we'll stop them,"
Chen sat at his desk, his mind racing. He knew he had to do something. He couldn't ignore the warning from the diary. He quickly grabbed his phone and called his father, Yui.
"Dad, it's Chen," he said urgently when Yui picked up.
"Chen, my boy!" Yui's voice was warm and cheerful. "How's the new place? How's living with Skyy? Are you two getting along well?"
Chen sighed, trying to calm himself. "Dad, I need you to listen to me. Something is going to happen to Uncle Prisitsky."
Yui's cheerful tone instantly turned serious. "What are you talking about, Chen? What do you mean something is going to happen to Prisitsky?"
Chen took a deep breath, struggling to find the right words. "I don't know exactly, but I have a bad feeling. The diary... it mentioned something happening to him. I think he's in danger."
There was a long silence on the other end of the line. Yui finally spoke, his voice heavy with concern. "Chen, are you sure? How reliable is this information?"
"I'm not sure, but I can't ignore it. Please, Dad, you have to tell Uncle Harry to protect Uncle Prisitsky. We can't take any chances."
Yui sighed deeply. "Alright, Chen. I'll contact Harry right away. We'll do everything we can to ensure Prisitsky's safety. But you need to stay safe too, okay?"
"I will, Dad. Thanks."
After hanging up, Chen sat back in his chair, feeling a mix of relief and anxiety. He hoped his warning would be enough to keep his uncle safe.
The next morning, Skyy noticed that Chen seemed unusually quiet. "Is everything okay?" he asked, pouring himself a cup of coffee.
Chen looked up, forcing a small smile. "Yeah, just a lot on my mind."
Skyy nodded, sensing that Chen didn't want to talk about it. "Well, if you need anything, I'm here."
"Thanks, Skyy," Chen said, appreciating the gesture.
The day passed slowly. Skyy and Chen went about their routines, but there was an underlying tension that neither could ignore. Skyy continued his studies, while Chen coordinated with Uncle Qian and Dr. Harrington regarding security and research updates.
In the evening, Chen received a call from his father. "Chen, it's Yui. I've spoken to Harry. He's taking the necessary precautions. Prisitsky will be well-protected."
"Thank you, Dad," Chen said, feeling a bit more at ease.
"How are you holding up, son?" Yui asked, his voice filled with concern.
"I'm managing. It's just... a lot to process."
"I understand. Remember, we're here for you."
After the call, Chen felt a bit more reassured, but the anxiety lingered. He joined Skyy in the living room, where they both tried to distract themselves with a movie. However, neither of them could fully relax.
