He was supposed to be part of the five who participated in the tournament, where every academy fought with each other. This was supposed to be his ticket to the top.

Though he was from a rich and powerful family, Ironheart, he was not the only one in the family to monopolise all the family resources.

Viren is the third son and fifth child of Darren Ironheart, Head of the Ironheart family.

He may have gotten resources far better than many, even when compared to other family members, but he doesn’t have the most. That perk belongs to his sister, Ellara.

Ellara Iroheart, Dark Swordsman, fourth child and second daughter of Darren Ironheart, is two years older than Viren. She, too, is a student of Dusk Academy, presently in the third year.

Ellara is one of the top students in the academy. During her year, the academy gained third rank in the Inter-academy tournament. She even reached second position, only losing to one person from the Capital Academy.

That tournament not only brought her resources from the alliance and the academy but also from the Ironheart family.

This was something Viren wanted to repeat. That was the moment when she grew to be the one who got the most of the resources allocated by the family to their youngsters. With those resources, Viren thought that it would be easy for him to reach a higher rank easily, which would give him a lot of power not only in the family but also outside in the city.

It all went down the drain after losing one match.

For that, he started to hate Aaron, but there was nothing he could do, especially when the tournament was about to happen. Making a move against Aaron at the time was akin to destroying his future.

He may be a jealous person, but not a stupid person, who would lose his rationality due to one simple act. He decided to wait for the right time to strike, and when he did, he wanted to make sure that Aaron would feel the pain.

It was then, Viren came to know about the results regarding the tournament. His enemy, Aaron Skyhart, secured first place in the tournament. Even the academy reached second rank, which it has never achieved in its long history of the alliance.

With those feats achieved, Aaron became famous among the students of the academy and not just him, but the other four as well.

Once those five returned from the tournament, everyone in the academy became friendly with them and wanted to become friends with them at all costs.

This made him angrier and jealous of all five, especially of Aaron.

"That glory should have been mine", he started to scream internally or when among his goons whenever he remembered or saw the five.

Even though his brain was filled with anger and jealousy, there was still a part of his mind that was sane, not to make such statements or have outbursts when among others. He would only become a joker if he did that, especially with his sister present in the academy.

There was no love lost between the siblings because of their mothers.

Viren’s mother, the first wife of his father, was the last to give birth to a child, him.

The first son and the second daughter were both children of the second wife, while the second son and the first daughter were twins born from the third wife.

He who was supposed to inherit the family was born late, becoming the fifth child, which made him last in line for the position of the family’s head after his father vacated the seat.

So, of all his siblings, Viren hated and argued with the second daughter, because he couldn’t stand against the first son, who was years older than him, and when he was little, the first brother had already awakened.

At the moment, except for the last two, the others have already graduated and gained a lot of family merits.

In order to sit on the chair as the head, one needs a lot of merits, and being born later, he was already lacking in that aspect. He needed miracles, and he believed that he could start from the academy, but stumbled from the start.

Though he knew the source, he had no power to do anything at the moment.
