Devilish secretary-Chapter 290 Where is Lilith?
Chapter 290: Chapter 290 Where is Lilith?
Ana’s heart hurt. She once truly liked Lilith. She admired her grace, her strength, and how she carried herself. She thought Lilith would be a good wife for her son.
But everything changed after one phone call.
The Master of their family, a wise man who could see things others couldn’t had warned her. He said Lilith was dangerous. That her spirit was too dark. That she would bring harm to her son.
Ana had seen the signs.
Her son had more accidents, more brushes with death. Since Lilith came into his life, his luck had turned bad.
No mother could ignore that.
She forced herself to stay calm.
"You’re not leaving?" Alexander asked, his voice sharper now, the patience in his tone slipping fast. His chest rose a little quicker, and his gaze finally snapped toward Ana.
"Where is Lilith?" he asked again, this time with urgency in his voice. Ana’s expression stiffened. Her smile faded.
"Sebby... do you remember Master Jones?" she asked carefully. He frowned. That old man who used to make strange predictions and talk about energy, fate, stars—yes, he remembered. But he never cared for it. Still, he gave a nod. Ana took that as her chance.
"He said Lilith isn’t good for you," she said gently, as if expecting him to understand. "Her presence is heavy. And look at what’s been happening... so many accidents since she came into your life—" she added, her voice now almost pleading. "And she’s just a secretary. I can find you someone better, someone with a good background, a respected socialite—someone—"
She didn’t finish.
Because Alexander suddenly yanked his hand away from the IV line. The needle ripped out, blood blooming against the white bedsheet. Ana gasped and stepped back in fear. His shoulders were shaking, and his fingers curled into fists as he slowly sat upright, ignoring the pain. His eyes usually calm and unreadable were burning red with rage.
Since Lilith came into his life, his anger had been under control...effortless, like breathing.
But now...
A fury he hadn’t felt in months tore through him. frёeωebɳovel.com
With a violent swipe, he flung the side table across the room. The cup shattered against the floor, and Ana stumbled back, heart racing. "Y-You’re just recovering, Sebby," she said, trying to calm him.
But he didn’t want to be calmed.
His voice roared through the hospital room.
"WHERE IS LILITH?!"
When Ana didn’t answer, when no one told him what he needed to hear, Alexander didn’t wait a second longer. The rage in his chest burned too deeply, and the silence around him only made it worse.
"Lilith!"
Tara had just arrived, a tray of breakfast in her hands, carefully carried with warmth and hope. The moment she saw him, her eyes widened in panic. "Brother!" she gasped, "You should be resting—what are you doing?! Let’s go back inside!" Her voice was urgent, full of concern.
But Alexander didn’t even glance at her.
He walked past like she wasn’t there.

Lilith stood quietly on the rooftop, the cool breeze brushing through her hair, the city stretching out beneath her in all its bright, chaotic glory. Her eyes were fixed on the hospital windows across the street, her gaze unblinking, as if she could will him to feel her presence.
Beside her, Loki, the small black cat with glowing eyes sat with his tail flicking back and forth, clearly agitated. "Hmph!" he grumbled, his voice sharp, even for his feline size. "Elder sister Lilith, Earth isn’t for us! We should go back. This place isn’t for people like us!" His ears twitched irritably, his little paws kneading the ground as if he could make the city go away by sheer will.
Lilith half-smirked, turning her gaze toward him, eyes glinting with amusement. "Oh?" she replied casually, her voice soft but biting. "You’re saying this because you don’t know how to go back?" She raised an eyebrow, her lips curving ever so slightly as she leaned closer to him. "So if I leave, you can also leave?"
Loki’s eyes widened in panic, his fur bristling as he quickly shook his head. "Oh no! You’re getting it wrong, elder sister!" he stammered, his voice high and flustered. "I’m worried about you! You should go back. Take your throne. Wait for the emperor to wake up." He swished his tail back and forth, his little paws moving in a flurry as if trying to escape the situation.
Lilith tilted her head, eyes narrowing slightly. "So what you’re really saying, Loki, is that you want me to return to the throne and leave this all behind?"
Loki nodded vigorously, his fur flattening as he looked up at her with wide, glowing eyes. "Yes! Of course! This human isn’t your mate! You know that, don’t you?" He paused, his voice dropping to a quiet murmur. "He’s too... ordinary for someone like you."
Lilith’s smirk softened into a small, knowing smile, and she looked out over the city again, her thoughts swirling in a quiet storm. "Is that what you think, Loki? That I should leave this human world behind?" Her voice was soft now, contemplative. "But sometimes... the most ordinary things hold the greatest meaning."
She took a deep breath, letting the wind lift her hair as she stared down at the streets below.

Lilith finally stepped through the hospital entrance, the cold silence she’d been carrying melting ever so slightly as she passed through the automatic doors. She had only taken three steps inside when suddenly arms wrapped around her. Strong. Desperate. Warm.
The force of the hug made her gasp softly as she stumbled a little, but before she could react, she felt it—his scent. His heartbeat.
He buried his face into the side of her neck, holding her like she might disappear if he let go. His voice came out rough and low, barely holding back the tremble. "Where have you been?" he asked.
Lilith smiled gently, her arms slowly lifting to wrap around him too. "Oh no," she whispered softly against his shoulder, "I just went to get you breakfast." Her tone was light, teasing like nothing had happened.
