Divine Artifact in a Scientific World-Chapter 72: First Day (2)
Chapter 72: First Day (2)
"I have another class in ten minutes, but you can talk to me while we walk, if you want."
"Okay," she replied.
They got up and filed out of the auditorium and Jack headed towards his next class. Once the crowd cleared a bit, Robin came up next to him and grabbed his arm.
"Jack, I...I regret rejecting you back then."
"Really?" she had seemed pretty disgusted with him at the time.
"Yes. I...honestly, if my head wasn’t so far up my ass at the time, I would have ignored whatever Madison told me and gone out with you anyway."
"Huh. You seemed rather disgusted with me at the time."
"I know. And maybe I’m remembering things wrong. I really wasn’t in a good place back then. But now? Now that I’ve had a chance to review things with clearer eyes, and given Madison’s confession, I really do regret rejecting you. You were the only boy that has ever asked me out. Ever."
He found that hard to believe. She was attractive. Long dark brown hair, amber skin, big brown eyes, and an oval face with high cheekbones. She was about the same height as Miranda, but slim, like a runner, with small breasts, maybe B-cup if he had to guess.
"That’s can’t be true. You look..." he wanted to say delicious.
"Plain?" she said.
"No. Look, do you mind if I speak crudely?"
She blinked a few times, then said, "No, I don’t mind. Speak however you want." The way she said it reassured him that she meant it and wasn’t being sarcastic.
"I-"
"Wait!" she said, interrupting him.
He stopped in the hallway for a moment and turned to look at her.
"Sorry, I just, I want to say this before you say anything else."
"Okay, go on."
"I...Like I said before, you are the only boy that ever asked me out and I regret rejecting you. So, um, would you consider going out with me? Just once? Please? It...it’s okay if you say no. I’ll understand, given what happened, but-"
"Yes."
Two! Two of the girls that had rejected him now wanted to go out with him. Things really were looking up.
In his mind, Madison didn’t count because she went from platonic friend straight to soul bound. And Miranda didn’t count because she went from relative stranger to devoted number-one-fan overnight. So, they didn’t really feel like girlfriends. Not really.
Miranda wanted him because of what he represented, power and wealth. He didn’t mind because she was loyal to him and seemed motivated to support him, no matter what he wanted to do.
As for Madison, even though he thought of her as his friend, and they would eventually become lovers, he understood she had stuck with him more because he represented an emotional life preserver than because she wanted him as a person.
So, his upcoming date with Analise and now with Robin somehow felt special. Their wanting to date him somehow validated his worthiness in a way that his relationships with Madison and Miranda could not.
"What?"
"Yes. Yes, I’d like that. You’re nice to look at, so-"
She squealed in glee, then jumped onto him, wrapping her legs around his waist and planted her lips against his. The moment he started opening his mouth, she shoved her tongue between his lips and started swirling it around his tongue. Then, after a few moments, she pulled away and dropped back to the ground.
"Sorry, sorry. I just couldn’t help myself." Then she touched her lips while saying, "My first kiss!"
Seriously? Was he a magnet for strange girls? Not that he was really complaining. But he was beginning to wonder, was it him, or was it just one of those ’law of large numbers’ things?
"It’s alright," he said, placing his hand on her shoulders. "I appreciate your enthusiasm." And he did.
She bounced in place. "so when can we-"
"Not so fast," he said. "There are some things you need to know that might change mind."
"Oh, no. You’re not gay, are you? I’m so sorry I just-"
"Stop, stop," he said. Jeez, did this girl not pay attention? Where did she even get that idea? If she turned out to be yaoi fan he was going to have to reconsider.
"I’m not gay! I did say you’re nice to look at, didn’t I?"
"Yeah, but you could have meant-"
"I meant," he said a little louder. Then he leaned in and said softly in her ear, "that I want to fuck your brains out."
He realized as he said it that he was behaving far more confidently than he ever did when he was in high school.
Did he always have this in him and it was just suppressed because of all the trauma he’d gone through, losing Jacob, then Fran’s cancer? Or had something happened?
Remembering he had a class to get to, he spun robin around and gently pushed her down the hallway while wrapping an arm around her shoulders.
He also noticed that when he spoke in her ear, she moaned very softly and squirmed, like a cam girl with a vibrator inside her. He clearly was having an effect on her. This was fun!
"As I was saying, there are some things you need to know. To be clear, I like you and want to date you, but you need to understand that we cannot be exclusive."
"Why not?" she asked. Not complaining, just sounding curious.
"Because I already have two girlfriends, and might have more in the future."
She looked at her feet as they walked, biting her lip. Then she asked, "Can I meet them?"
"Maybe, eventually. But I want to get to know you better first before introducing you to them."
"Oh, okay. That’s, that’s good. So, um, when can we go out? Are you free tonight?"
Wow, she is eager.
They stopped near the entrance to his next classroom.
"Look, this is my class. Tell you what. Let’s exchange contacts. When you get a chance, send me your schedule. Then I can figure out when we can meet. Okay?"
She nodded, then pulled out her phone. After exchanging contact info, she gave him a quick kiss, then watched as he entered another auditorium.
He found a seat in the middle, his preferred location. When he sat, the guy to his right leaned over and said, "Your girlfriend is hot. How’d you get so lucky?"
"Apparently having Battle Ax Broadmoor apologize to you twice in one hour really does it for some girls. She jumped me in the hallway after class and I had to pry her off me."
