Douluo: Transforming Xiao Wu into a Zerg Queen Was Just the Beginning-Chapter 29 – Another Ten-Thousand-Year Spirit Bone… Zhu Zhuyun?
Chapter 29 - 29 – Another Ten-Thousand-Year Spirit Bone... Zhu Zhuyun?
The Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent hissed loudly, staring warily at the strange-looking bug that had suddenly appeared in front of it.
The creature was pitch-black from head to tail, resembling a miniature version of a mutated Devouring Goldmouse. If not for its grotesque and alien appearance, the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent wouldn't have even recognized what kind of species it was dealing with.
When did the Star Dou Great Forest become infested with so many bizarre-looking insects?
Suddenly, the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent recalled that group of rotund green bugs from earlier—the ones that could explode without warning.
"Hiss!"
Its vertical pupils turned icy cold at the thought, and with a roar, it lunged forward, coiling its body tightly around the strange insect.
It had already confirmed there was no spirit energy fluctuation coming from the creature.
Creak, creak...
A grating, bone-chilling sound echoed as the serpent tightened its grip, crushing the creature into a compressed ball of flesh. However, despite the force, its thick black carapace didn't shatter. Only its underbelly was crushed into a mangled mess of pulp.
The Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent's eyes turned even colder. Its massive body writhed and tightened further, determined to squeeze the life out of the bizarre insect.
Creak—
Boom—!
Finally, unable to withstand the pressure any longer, the insect's dense carapace exploded with a loud bang.
Boom—!
From a distance, the Devouring Goldmouse (Jinshu) leapt into the scene and landed heavily. Having been delayed by the previous struggle between the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent and the strange Zerg creature, it had finally caught up. Its entire body radiated a ferocious, bloodthirsty aura as it locked eyes with the serpent.
The Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent flicked its tongue nervously, keeping its guard up.
Though it was a thousand-year spirit beast, it no longer dared to underestimate the Goldmouse. That terrifying combat ability had clearly reached the level of a ten-thousand-year spirit beast.
But curiously, the Devouring Goldmouse didn't attack. It simply stared intently at the serpent, the burning aggression it had shown before now replaced with eerie stillness.
"Hiss hiss hiss!"
The serpent grew more anxious, coiling and uncoiling its body, trying to intimidate the Goldmouse with the full pressure of its ten-thousand-year beast aura.
Yet the Goldmouse didn't move. Its crimson beady eyes stayed locked onto the serpent, thick drool dripping occasionally from its terrifying mandibles.
That only heightened the serpent's unease. The spark of defiance it had just found evaporated almost instantly.
Its vertical pupils darted around, searching for a chance to escape.
Rustle rustle—!
Suddenly, the underbrush trembled as an entire swarm of Zerg—identical to the one the serpent had just crushed—poured out in a flood. The black tide formed a living wall of flesh and chitin, completely surrounding both the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent and the Devouring Goldmouse.
"ROAR! ROAR! ROAR—!"
The Zerg let out guttural, primal cries that echoed through the forest. The wall of bodies formed an impenetrable barricade—a living steel fortress.
Their howls felt like war drums for the battle about to unfold. The atmosphere was electric, charged with raw tension, as if this were a deadly arena and the serpent and Goldmouse were the star gladiators. But who was the reigning champion, and who was the trapped prey? That remained to be seen.
The Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent's blood surged with heat. The pride and confidence of a ten-thousand-year spirit beast burned brightly. It raised its head high, eyes full of fury, and its crest trembled with each hiss.
But the serpent failed to notice what was above it.
High in the tree canopy, a cloud of pink butterflies flapped their wings silently. They hovered in the air, releasing an almost invisible dust from their wings—dust that drifted downward, right into the lungs of both the serpent and the Goldmouse.
"ROOOAR—!"
The Goldmouse howled madly, the crimson glow in its beady eyes growing stronger.
The serpent, refusing to back down, hissed violently, blood vessels now visible within its vertical pupils.
BOOM—!
The Goldmouse pounced first. Its forelimbs morphed into rapidly spinning scythe-like blades, slashing straight toward the serpent.
But this time, the Phoenix-Tail Crest Serpent didn't dodge. It opened its maw wide, revealing rows of razor-sharp fangs, and lunged to bite the Goldmouse's limbs. Its eyes, now bloodshot, began to lose focus.
SLASH—!
Blood sprayed in all directions.
A massive snake head, still crowned with its distinctive crest, was severed cleanly and flung into a nearby tree, then bounced lifelessly to the ground. The vertical pupils, once so sharp, now held only fear and confusion as the light faded from them.
The decapitated body thrashed violently, smashing against the living walls of Zerg flesh, twisting and coiling in spasms. After a minute or two, it finally lay still, bleeding out onto the earth.
Bzzz—!
A dense black spirit ring rose slowly from the corpse.
At the same time, a brilliant glow emanated from beneath the serpent's body—revealing a dazzling ten-thousand-year torso spirit bone.
Tap tap tap—
A set of crisp footsteps echoed through the trees. Xiao Wu approached gracefully, bending down to pick up the glowing bone.
"Heh~ A ten-thousand-year torso spirit bone. The Overmind will be very pleased~"
She let out a gentle laugh and waved her hand. The surrounding Zerg retreated like a receding tide.
A few Worker Drones scurried out, carrying the serpent's body away. The pool of blood on the ground vanished, absorbed instantly by the forest floor.

The Devouring Goldmouse gave a final leap, crashing back underground with a boom, disappearing from view. The forest fell silent once again—not a drop of blood in sight.
Meanwhile, within the Zerg base...
Lin Fan stared with a strange expression at the unconscious girl brought back by the Crushing Ants from the forest.
The girl was still unconscious. Her short purple hair was slightly messy, covering part of her face, but her delicate profile and graceful chin made it clear—she was stunningly beautiful.
Her combat uniform had been punctured by the ants, leaving two large holes that failed to hide her soft, snow-white curves. His eyes were drawn to her slim waist and the glimpse of her pale thighs.
"Isn't this... Zhu Zhuyun? What's she doing here?"
Lin Fan muttered to himself. Then, a crooked smile crept onto his face.
"Perfect. The Zerg's new unit is ready."
"Let's start the first experiment with you, shall we? Hahahahahaha!"
