Douluo: Transforming Xiao Wu into a Zerg Queen Was Just the Beginning-Chapter 37 - 38 – The Furious Sky Azure Bull Python, The Pitiful Xiao Wu
Chapter 37 - 38 – The Furious Sky Azure Bull Python, The Pitiful Xiao Wu
"ROAR—!"
A ten-thousand-year Earth Cavern Demon Spider let out a frenzied howl, trembling as it faced the endless, black ocean of Zerg pouring toward it.
Its eight spear-like legs quivered violently. Countless multifaceted eyes were filled with terror. When its roar failed to drive the swarm back, a burst of black light erupted from its body.

It opened its mandibles and fired a dim beam of light into the ground.
BOOM—!
A pitch-black, highly toxic prison cage shot up from the earth, trapping several Roaches inside. The massive cage even isolated the approaching Zerglings that had been swarming forward.
Sharp spikes lined the cage, stabbing and crushing the Roaches within.
Even their thick, armored hides couldn't withstand the piercing assault—black blood splattered everywhere.
But what horrified the Earth Cavern Demon Spider most was that these grotesque creatures, impaled through their bodies, showed no signs of pain. They continued to thrash and struggle, trying to tear free and charge again!
"ROAR!"
The spider howled again. With its two thick forelimbs, it ripped into the Creep and burrowed down.
But before it could go far, its body suddenly dropped—it had fallen into a bottomless pit.
Regaining its footing, the Earth Cavern Demon Spider looked around—
—and what it saw made it despair completely.
A massive hive complex stretched before it. Countless nightmarish Zerg buildings dotted the distant underground horizon.
And here, beneath the surface, was a swarm even larger than the one aboveground—countless pairs of crimson eyes stared directly at the "poor little intruder."
It barely managed one final roar before being swallowed whole by the black tide.
Scenes like this played out everywhere.
No matter what tactics the soul beasts used—whether fighting or fleeing—they were inevitably devoured by the endless, relentless swarm of Zerg. Not a single ripple of resistance remained.
From the Overlord Warships ten thousand meters above, the entire outer region of the Star Dou Great Forest looked as if it had been flooded in black ink.
Occasionally, one or two soul beasts managed to leap out of the swarm—only to be smashed back down by a surging wave of Zerg.
The tide was still spreading, swallowing the forest one inch at a time.
It was a complete invasion.
The Sky Azure Bull Python finally arrived, its massive body floating above the scene. Seeing the writhing black sea below, it was momentarily stunned.
Its lantern-sized eyes were filled with shock and disbelief.
"What... what kind of soul beasts are these...?"
No. This wasn't right.
The Sky Azure Bull Python looked more closely. These terrifying creatures had no soul power fluctuations at all.
They relied solely on their brutal physical strength and strange attack methods to hunt and kill soul beasts.
But how could any race possess such an overwhelming number of fighters?
Even at a glance, there were clearly thousands of Zerg visible on the battlefield.
Which begged the question... how many were actually down there?
Ten thousand? A hundred thousand?
The Sky Azure Bull Python couldn't comprehend it. As it watched the swarm rampaging through the forest, it found itself completely at a loss.
FWSSHH—!
A stream of green venom zipped past the Bull Python, striking a heavily wounded Darkflame Ape that had just barely escaped the swarm. The acid seared through the ape's body and instantly ended its life.
The Sky Azure Bull Python snapped out of its daze, its eyes locking onto the soul beast that had just died before it—charred and broken.
Fury erupted in its heart.
"These filthy, despicable monsters... how dare they slaughter my kin!"
It had assumed these foreign creatures would target humans first. But instead, the first to fall victim were its own people.
Its heart surged with regret.
"If only I had led the soul beasts to unite against them from the start...
Would this tragedy have been avoided?"
But even thinking it through, it couldn't fathom how the Zerg had grown so powerful so quickly. From emergence to this stage had taken less than a month!
"MOO—!"
Blue energy surged from its massive head and blasted into the black tide below.
BOOM—!
A swath of Zerglings was thrown into the air. A brief gap appeared in the tide—but was quickly filled by more Zerg pouring in.
Still, seeing some effect brought a flicker of relief to the beast.
The pressure from the Zerg ocean was immense. Even as a hundred-thousand-year soul beast, it knew that enough weaker enemies, in vast enough numbers, could overwhelm even it.
But... many of these creatures didn't even possess the strength of thousand-year soul beasts. That gave it some confidence.
FWSSHH—!
Another beam of blue energy swept across the battlefield, clearing a portion of the swarm.
As it prepared to strike again, a voice called out from behind.
"Da Ming?! What are you doing here?!"
The Sky Azure Bull Python froze.
That voice... could it be... Big Sister?!
Whipping around, it saw a familiar figure huddled beneath a tree, arms wrapped around her knees, trembling.
It was indeed Xiao Wu!
The Bull Python quickly descended and landed beside her, its eyes soft with worry as it examined her condition.
What it saw left it stunned.
Xiao Wu had completely changed.
Her appearance was more mature—her figure now that of a grown woman, no longer the petite form she'd had when she first took human shape.
Her pupils glowed crimson. Behind her sprouted a long tail and a pair of bone wings.
The Sky Azure Bull Python's eyes widened further in disbelief.
"Big Sister... what happened to you?"
Xiao Wu's eyes welled up with tears, her expression full of sorrow and fear.
Sniffling softly, she said in a trembling voice,
"They bullied me, Da Ming... sob sob..."
"I had just left the forest... and then I ran into these terrifying soul beasts. They captured me and made me eat some strange fruit..."
"Then... I ended up like this..."
She raised her head to look at the Bull Python, her gaze full of despair.
"Please take me home, Da Ming... I don't want to be outside anymore..."
Every word pierced the Bull Python's heart like a dagger.
Rage boiled within it. Guilt flooded its eyes.
"It's all my fault... If only I had kept you safe, none of this would've happened!"
"It's okay now, Xiao Wu. I'll take you home. We'll figure something out together."
"Mm..."
Xiao Wu nodded, still sobbing as she slowly climbed onto his massive back.
The Bull Python was filled with urgency. He just wanted to get her away from here.
"Are you holding on tight, Xiao Wu? I'm taking you home."
Her crimson eyes gleamed suddenly, and a strange smile curved her lips.
"I'm holding on. Let's go, Da Ming."
