Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking-Chapter 576: Cocooned
--
Cedric will begin his own breakthrough soon...
He had delayed his own progress to favor the Chancellors, thinking that he should personally oversee their progress so that no careless mistakes happen. And fortunately, it went through smoothly. The Chancellors have become Primordials now, their strengths elevating into a level they never dared to imagine before. And even now, they're still discovering more things about themselves because of their newfound strength and access to Chaos Energy.
Since the Chancellors have been settled, Cedric could now shift his focus to himself.
Having reached the peak of the Void Refinement Realm, he knew that he didn't have much time left. He had to make a breakthrough very soon, or else there would be a risk to his life.
Remember, upon reaching the peak of the Void Refinement Realm, Redstone felt that he only had three years before he exploded due to his Inner World being so full.
Cedric has reached the same stage even before the chancellors decided to take the lead amongst Cosmic Level experts in transitioning to the Ancient Chaos Path. It took them three years to go from the 1st Stage to the 9th Stage and five more years to reach the Primordial Realm.
This meant that Cedric endured and delayed his own progress for 8 full years. Throughout this time, he suppressed the stuffy sensation within his Inner World, as well as his discomfort. It pained him to do so because he literally had to fight his instincts, but he did it through sheer iron will.
Now that his concerns are over, he doesn't have any excuses left, and his body knows it too; therefore, he's truly running out of time now.
He wasn't the only one who knew this. Everybody who reached the Primordial Realm before him realized this as well.
Redstone and the rest encouraged him to make his breakthrough with peace of mind. They promised to keep everybody safe while he takes care of his business, and they had the ability to back this up. They knew, more than anybody, just how uncomfortable he must've felt; that's why they urged him so.
However, Cedric remained steadfast in his decision. He said that he will personally oversee the progress of the Chancellor first. Saying that they're more important than he was and it has to be him.
Nobody could really stop him, so they could only look after him. Now, though, that's over, and they too know that Cedric no longer had any excuses left to delay his own breakthrough. Even the chancellors began urging him, so he soon made a decision.

"Alright, alright! I'm going. You can relax now."
And so with this, Cedric left to seclude himself, leaving his work and responsibilities for others to cover for a bit. Once all of this was settled, Cedric left the camp.
His chosen spot for his seclusion was near his home, Solaris Prime. He chose this place just because he wanted to be close to home as he makes his breakthrough, but he also doesn't want to risk damaging his home in case an unexpected event happens, so he didn't do it within Solaris Prime.
As expected, he's accompanied by the Chancellors, who will serve as his protectors as he processes his breakthrough.
Oh, right. Cedric chose the slow and steady route in the end.
Truth to be told, he was very tempted to choose the other way, which was to break through outside of the realm and make a lot of noise. Alas, nobody has attempted this option before, and it's very risky to do. Even though Cedric was truly tempted, the people around him wouldn't agree with him taking such risks. He's too valuable to the realm, after all.
Sure, that might've worked. He knew that he had the power to rally the entire Border Patrol Office for his own use. He knew that if he truly pushed the idea, they would still follow him out there despite not agreeing to his choices.
There would be a fight. The Void Prince will definitely show up. Cedric might even have had to face the consciousness of the Void itself during his breakthrough if he had chosen this path.
Alas, it's just too risky. There was a severe lack of basis behind this breakthrough path, and unlike the slow and steady route, he can't take his time here. There will be too many disruptions had he chosen this path instead, and this will certainly cause unnecessary casualties and might even breed resentment towards him simply because there's just no need for him to do this when there's a safer path available.
Moreover, doing this will put the Ancient Chaos Path practitioners under the spotlight, and now is just simply not the time for that.
That's why, for the sake of maintaining peace and stability in the office, he decided to take the less risky and known path, which was the slow and steady path.
Having watched others do it, this, of course, didn't pose any significant problems to Cedric. The moment he relaxed his control, the transformation nearly happened on its own, causing him to initially struggle to control it. But it also didn't take long before he took control.
What he didn't expect, however, was being paralyzed as his breakthrough began.
This didn't happen to Redstone or the others, which meant it was unique to him. Cedric tried his best, but he couldn't even move a single finger. It's like something has seized direct control over every single inch of his body, and there's nothing he could do other than just accept it.
Fortunately, it's just paralysis. He couldn't move, yes, but his mind was active, and he's still in control of his breakthrough. He just really can't physically move.
Cedric already informed the chancellors about it and told them not to worry. He thinks that this was just a unique and unexpected thing to him, and honestly, he didn't really feel like it was dangerous. Still, he promised them that if he felt that something wrong was happening to him, they would be informed immediately.
**
Fwoosh!
Cedric focused on the commotion within his inner world. He saw the majestic cosmos of Chaos Energy tossing and turning within as they gradually manifested.
The movement within his inner world truly resembled that of a cosmic realm. Any reaction, big or small, leads to astonishing changes happening within. Even the slightest wave of his chaos energy looked like the phenomenon when the stars were born or destroyed.
Through this, Cedric paid close attention to the Concept Law Embryo within him since it's the one that's making a lot of noise, even more than the tossing and turning of the chaos energies within his Inner World.
In his immersion, Cedric vaguely heard cracking sounds, one that is similar to glass breaking as its shards hit the floor. It was coming from the colorful lights swimming throughout the vast expanse of his Inner World.
See, when Cedric said he was in control, it didn't mean that he was causing all of this to happen because there's simply no way for him to do that. These changes must happen naturally, or else it will defeat the purpose of evolution.
By being in control, Cedric meant it in a way that, should any accidents occur, he wouldn't cause too much damage in his surroundings. It also meant that the signs of his breakthrough were perfectly contained. His aura nor the fluctuations of his power wouldn't harm anything or anybody he didn't want to be harmed.
As for the rest, Cedric left it up to its natural course. He had no intentions or desires to dictate how his transformation should go.
Another thing that he didn't expect, though, was to be completely encased in a cocoon as his breakthrough occurred.
It started with just threads of his Chaos Energy slipping away from his skin, yet as time went on, these threads wrapped around him, cocooning him into a phenomenally hard and durable casing made of hardened Chaos Energy.
The Chancellors were shocked at this because this didn't happen to them. In their experience, they just lay down flat, took a nap, and there, Primordials! They didn't expect that it'd be different for Cedric.
Despite seeing this, the Chancellors weren't overly worried. They could feel that Cedric's just fine. He's just protected by this cocoon while his evolution takes place inside. He wasn't hurt or in pain; in fact, it even looked like he was peacefully snoring in there.
As Cedric's inner world started manifesting into reality, the concept law embryos were breaking out of their shells as well. All of this transformation provokes a change to happen to Cedric on a spiritual level.
Cedric still has some lucidity left, but only enough to alarm him of any accidents. The rest have completely been submerged into the wondrous feeling of evolving.
He truly didn't know what surprises awaited him when his evolution was over, but he wasn't too concerned. It's a little hard to be when his consciousness was literally asleep as his evolution occurs.
And so, as time passed on in Cedric's breakthrough, his cocoon got bigger, and the changes within him increased even further as well.
