"Do you really have to do this alone?" Silas's clone asked Cedric's second clone.

There was unease and uncertainty in his voice. He sounds very unwilling to let Cedric go out there alone to do what he plans to do, and he wasn't alone; the other chancellors and paragons felt the same as well.

"I don't 'have' to. It's just better if I do it alone," Cedric's clone replied. "Fewer people, fewer mistakes. Besides, I already know my way in there, and this is just my clone. At worst, I'll blow it up to prevent them from taking advantage of it."

"What you people need to focus on would be the aftermath of this." The second clone stated, "They won't be happy with what I'm about to do; things will become chaotic real quick, so you better be prepared."

"We'll be fine." Silas' clone replied solemnly, "Your intel has given us sufficient material to work with, and things haven't been idle ever since you joined. We're as ready for them as ever."

"Awesome!" Cedric's clone grinned. "Well, without any further ado, I'm off."

"Be careful."

Cedric's clone saluted before stepping out of the gates.

It has been roughly 50 years since Cedric discovered where the main consciousness of the void resides. It has been that long since he began researching a seal that would imprison it temporarily to give them some advantage. And it wasn't until last year that Cedric found true success in his research.

Now, 50 years later, it was time for him to do what he had to do. His comrades were informed long ago, but even now, they're still reluctant to let him do it alone. Had Cedric not insisted strongly to do so, they would for sure accompany him to the end of the world.

But there's really no reason to do that. One clone of his was enough to do the job. None of them had to show up in person or accompany the clone because, just as he said, the more people, the more likely it is that someone would make a mistake.

Cedric's second clone has gone to the void enough times to be familiar with it. By now, this place doesn't seem that much different or dangerous from other worlds he's been in. That said, he still respected it and moved carefully because he couldn't afford to make a mistake now.

As soon as the second clone stepped out to the other side of the walls, he began checking the equipment he brought with him. He made sure that every single one was in working order before moving on any further.

'Alright, everything's fine. Time to move.' The clone took a deep breath, which he regretted immediately due to the foul stench of this place, then began moving deeper into the void.

Striding through the void with familiar ease, Cedric deftly avoided any risks of being found out. He had long since memorized the neutral behaviors of the Void Creatures and learned how sensitive they can be, which helped him avoid suspicion and detection as he moved with purpose.

Upon arriving at a certain depth and area, he paused. He had his clone scan the ground to locate a device he had buried previously around these parts. Sensing that it was still there and functioning normally as expected, he nodded to himself and moved on.

The clone paused in a few more areas like that one, making sure that all devices were accounted for and that everything was working before he moved on. Some of these were located in the Heart of the Void, too. And every single one of these devices will play their role soon.

Then, after about a whole day and night of moving, Cedric finally arrived at the headquarters of the void, the very same place where the Void Prince resided and where his target was located.

The clone wasn't in a hurry. Instead of proceeding with the plan, he first observed the overall situation.

Seeing that everything seemed to be behaving as he expected it to, Cedric nodded to himself and moved on. He sneaked into the Nursery and saw the gigantic womb hanging on the walls for the nth time.

It's still as gross as he remembered it to be, but that doesn't matter.

Taking advantage of the chance while nobody was guarding it, he took out a few gadgets from his bag and began installing them all over the cave. The clone moved with practiced ease and familiarity. By the time he was done, he did one final check before walking away.

His next location was the empty room near the Prince's Chambers. From his previous observations, nobody comes here for some reason. He already checked this room dozens of times and still had no idea why, but he already confirmed that it's a safe place to hide in the meantime.

Once he was there, Cedric took out another gadget. This one seemed to be a timer. With the press of a button, it activated, and the countdown starting from 10 minutes began.

Cedric sat down and waited for the chaos to start.

BOOM!!!

The first sign of chaos was unmistakable. A sky-high explosion rocked the grim silence of the void, scaring the void creatures out of their wits. The impact was so strong that the aftermath could be felt all the way to the headquarters, even though the explosion occurred on the outskirts.

Roar!!

Stunned at first, then furious. This explosion that alerted the whole void caused its creatures to turn berserk. A horde of them formed, swarming out of the core area to see the origin of the explosion.

What they didn't know is that there were more surprises waiting for them.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

More explosions occurred as if they were chained to occur. The berserk horde suffered immensely because of them. They had no idea where the explosions were coming from; they couldn't see a source no matter how hard they looked for it.

Some of the bombs exploded right under them, blowing them sky-high. And each bomb left a trail of burning flames that made the void creatures feel fear in the deepest recesses of their souls.

However, 'fear' isn't something that the void creatures are used to. They never dealt with the concept of fear before, so now, feeling it for the first time, they don't know what to do or how to process it.

They started acting strangely in hopes to cope with this new emotion, something that Cedric didn't account for but wasn't really detrimental to the plan.

Then, the time for the final part was set in motion, and it started when the first explosion happened in the cave where the giant womb was located.

Boom!

The explosion was tamer there compared to others that occurred earlier. However, considering that it happened under the royal castle and precisely where the womb was, it was an even bigger deal than the others. So much so that Cedric finally saw the Void Prince rushing out of his chambers to check the damage.

The clone's eyes flashed, and with long strides, he infiltrated the private chambers and immediately walked into the source womb to start working. He doesn't have much time available, so every second counts, and there can't be any mistakes here.

As Cedric began nailing the formation to the womb, the explosions under the castle continued to happen. It's causing enough commotion to keep everybody busy and unable to sense his activities.

The Void Prince was panicking. The womb was hurt, which was definitely not a good sign. The worst part is that he doesn't understand why it's happening. He tried to look for whatever's causing this but was left completely puzzled.

Well, the reason why he couldn't see the bombs was because they were designed to look like the pustules growing on the surface of the womb itself. It's just paint and drawings. Very innocuous and natural, perfectly blending it with the environment. The Void Prince was looking for any energy fluctuation or instability, things that the bombs did not have, so how can he notice them?

And so, he could only stare in shock and horror as parts of the womb started exploding, unable to do anything about it. The worst part is that the prince could already feel the unborn eggs dying due to their nutrients from the womb being cut off.

Meanwhile, Cedric was sweating as he counted down inwardly. As he continued nailing the formation into the womb, he could feel that the consciousness on the other side was starting to rouse into wakefulness.

But he was nearly done...

'Come on...'

Once the mainframe was ready, he took out the final and most important piece of the seal. Once he secured it in this place, he pressed a button to activate it, stood up, stepped back, and observed what was about to happen next.

A complex sealing matrix appeared, erupting with a brilliant golden light. It happened around the same time when the final explosion to the other womb destroyed it completely, masking all the fluctuations beneath the impact.

As the sealing matrix dimmed down, it dissolved into the womb, turning invisible to the naked eye, yet it's still there and is already doing its job.

Cedric sighed in relief and began making his exit.

'The cleanup is next...'
