Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy-Chapter 2678: Back to Norm
Fuxian stopped for a heartbeat as he saw something red flash from within the prison. When the man holding his daughter hostage fell to the ground, he acted immediately.
He ran up to his daughter, holding her in his embrace. His spear swung around at the same time, cutting through the necks of two of the other attackers.
The other two knew they could do nothing else and decided to run away. One ran immediately, but the other was caught by something. When he looked down to see what it was, he saw a crimson whip wrapped around his leg.
Before he could do anything, he was immediately pulled away.
Fuxian ignored that man, and looked toward the one running away. He flipped the spear in his hand, holding it as a javelin. He took no time to target it and simply threw the spear in his direction.
The spear shot out from his hand so fast that it left behind several shockwaves in its path. When it landed on the man, it simply tore a hole through his body, appearing on the other side.
It took the man a few seconds to realize that his heart had been torn through. Only then did he fall down onto the sand, bleeding out as he died.
Fuxian held onto his daughter tightly and turned toward the prison where the other man was pulled away.
Alex took back his blood into his body and picked up the sword that this man carried. He looked at it carefully, judging it for its craftsmanship. He would rather he got his own sword back.
At least, he had something to train with.
Alex checked the man next, realizing that he was close to death. He hadn't been wounded or anything, just passing through the barrier had put him near death mentally.
If nothing, the man would surely be mentally retarded when he came out of it.
Alex took the man's storage bags and tossed him back out.
As he arrived outside, Goyin's father stopped him with his foot on the man's neck, and crushed it. The nearly dead man was now dead.
"Are you okay?" Fuxian asked his daughter, who still trembled from the experience.
She clutched onto her father's clothes, hiding herself from the outside.
Fuxian gently stroked her back while turning toward Alex, who was staring at him now. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
"Thank you," he said gently.
Alex slowly blinked in acknowledgment. "Take her back."
Other people arrived right after, gasping in surprise. They let Fuxian return while staying behind to deal with the rest of the things in this section. They cleared up the bodies soon, and posted 2 more guards there before leaving.
Now that he was left alone again, Alex checked to see what he had received.
The man's storage bags didn't have much at all. There was a small jar full of pastes, which Alex could quickly tell was for healing. There were some pieces of talisman with words in them, along with some dried pieces of meat, a large wine flask, and a few Sunhearts.
It was a shame that there was no beast core. Still, Sunhearts were something he needed to use anyway. It was the only thing he could use to improve his body constitution, so without any further thought, he brought one out and ate it.
The same feeling of coldness permeated through his stomach for a few seconds before the effect reversed and blistering heat tore through his body.
The pain that returned was something so much stronger than what he had remembered last time, like a ball of fire burned in his stomach, the flames traveling through his meridians, charring every single part.
'The Sunheart is so much stronger,' Alex understood and did his best to go through the pain.
It lasted way longer than he remembered this time around. When he came out of it, he could feel slight improvements around his body, but nothing that was a significant change.
He would have to do this many more times before he felt any change.
Alex took a month or two before eating the next one, and was in similar pain at that time. He took another two months off before eating a third one.
For the fourth and last one, he waited much longer.
No one came to visit him after the last attack. It made sense to Alex why Goyin wouldn't return, but he was still hurt to be alone once again. He could only wonder how long it would be before he could get out of here.
As years passed, Alex returned to his previous routine of cultivating and training his Intent. The only addition to this was that he was now training his Sword Intent as well.
With the new sword with him, he could train his Sword Intent much better than he could with blood swords. It just wasn't the same.
Alex wished he could improve his body and blood aura as well, but that was impossible under the current situation.
As Alex trained by himself, he could hear screams from the city from time to time, as if things had grown more dangerous there. He was sure the situation had been at its lowest with the Skullheads trying to kidnap the Sunwarden chief's granddaughter, but it seemed it hadn't reached the lowest just yet.
He could see the change in atmosphere in the way the people were. He could only see the guards during the past 15 years, but through them alone, he could tell that the situation had become worse and worse.
While nothing changed for Alex, a lot had changed for Palm Haven.
Then, after nearly 50 years of being confined in this prison, many massive explosions shook the ground, along with battle screams and rumblings.
What he felt then was bigger than anything he had felt ever before.
This wasn't just a small clash at all.
Alex stayed in his prison and watched as the tension that had persisted in this city for the past 50 years finally snapped into an all out war.
