Chapter 60: Chapter 60: I Will Not Be The Third Party.

“Thank you, Sister Zhiyi, for helping me,” Qin Xiaoran was unbelievably well-behaved after gaining a benefit. Without Shen Zhiyi’s help, there was no way she could have borrowed the Muse, and now she could show off properly.

She understood the principle of gratitude, “Sister, are you switching hotels? Let me arrange it for you. We have our family hotel there, I can arrange the best suite for you.”

Director Meng had to move locations every other day for the movie, and they frequently changed hotels, so Shen Zhiyi couldn’t refuse and let Qin Xiaoran make the arrangements.

The Qin family’s chain of hotels was certainly not bad. Late at night, after arriving at the new filming location with the crew, Shen Zhiyi chatted with Director Meng for a few minutes about the next day’s shooting schedule before heading back to the hotel.

Qin Xiaoran had prepared a suite specifically reserved for the Qin family. It took up an entire floor, with five or six rooms. She took her key card out of the elevator and ran into Mrs. Qin, who she had seen before, furiously kicking a door.

Passing through the hallway, the door was wide open. Shen Zhiyi didn’t intend to pry into others’ private lives, but after hearing a familiar voice, she couldn’t help but sneak a quick glance inside.

It was Xu Xia.

“Let me go!”

Trying not to attract attention, Xu Xia’s voice sounded guilty. While struggling fiercely, she groped around trying to find her phone to call for help.

Having constantly dieted to maintain her figure, Xu Xia’s strength was no match for Mrs. Qin’s, especially not when Mrs. Qin’s rage added more power. Mrs. Qin grabbed her long hair with one hand and hit her with a purse in the other, still remembering to be dignified, she suppressed her voice and hissed through clenched teeth, “It was you, you little homewrecker, who still encouraged Qin Fangru to meet you privately on our anniversary! You dared to do it, so you should have expected this day!”

Having mistaken the person last time, Mrs. Qin had been worried for several days about offending Pei Yu and had forgotten about catching the cheater until the day before yesterday when she secretly checked Qin Fangru’s phone and found he was still involved with this despicable woman, even giving her his suite!

Qin Fangru wasn’t the first to keep a mistress, but those before were relatively behaved, unlike Xu Xia. Having seen the chat logs, Xu Xia’s dirty talk and her deliberate mentions of his wife, calling her old and faded, was disgusting—how could she tolerate it?

Xu Xia struggled fiercely under her grasp, then suddenly stopped moving, staring blankly at the door. Mrs. Qin turned around and saw Shen Zhiyi standing just a few steps away, causing her to immediately let go.

“Miss Shen—”

Shen Zhiyi felt even more awkward than the two of them, not expecting such a coincidence to meet them again. She nodded to Mrs. Qin, “I’m going back to my room.”

This was not something she should intervene in.

Once the door closed, Shen Zhiyi breathed a sigh of relief. She had suspected that Xu Xia had an unusual relationship with Qin Fangru, but wasn’t she also secretly involved with Huo Heng?

It was truly complicated.

A moment later, there was a knock at the door. Shen Zhiyi opened it and standing there was Xu Xia, now bearing several scratch marks on her face—a lesson from Mrs. Qin.

She extended her hand, her attitude poor, as if suppressing something, “Phone.”

Shen Zhiyi was momentarily stunned, “What?”

“I saw you with a phone. Did you record what just happened? You better hand over the video. Ruining me won’t benefit you at all.”

After speaking, she furrowed her brows and stared intently at Shen Zhiyi, “Why are you smiling?”

Shen Zhiyi stopped smiling, still finding it absurd, “Xu Xia, do you always maliciously suspect others like this?”

Just because she happened to pass by, Xu Xia suspected she was secretly filming?

Xu Xia paused, she was actually scared. If Shen Zhiyi had really recorded everything, her career in entertainment would be over, a career she had worked so hard to build.

She confirmed it repeatedly, “You really didn’t film anything?”

Shen Zhiyi quietly watched her for a while, noncommittally, “I say I didn’t film it but you won’t believe me, so you might as well think I did.”

Xu Xia frowned, “Shen Zhiyi!”

Shen Zhiyi smiled, “If I really had a video of you, your attitude towards me right now wouldn’t work, Xu Xia, be smart.”

In an instant, Xu Xia changed her expression, pleading pitifully, “Sister Zhiyi, don’t be mad, I’m just too scared, and I’m currently filming with Huo Brother. If something happens to me, Huo Brother will be implicated too, right?”

Knowing she carried no weight with Shen Zhiyi, she cleverly used Huo Heng as an excuse. During the years Shen Zhiyi willingly covered for them both, she even understood Shen Zhiyi’s heart better than Huo Heng did.

Unfortunately, she always felt that Shen Zhiyi’s “let it go” was insincere.

“You care so much about Huo Heng, didn’t you think about him before doing all this?”

Shen Zhiyi asked flatly, “Does Huo Heng know about your affair with Qin Fangru?”

Of course, he didn’t know, and Xu Xia wouldn’t let him know.

Xu Xia clenched her teeth, “I’m doing this for his own good, my career success would benefit him too, it’s a win-win, and besides, aren’t you doing the same?”

Both are climbing up by hanging onto higher branches, why does she have the nerve to act so self-righteous?

She maliciously cursed, “You better hide it well, or you’ll end up like me…”

The cellphone ringtone suddenly rang. Shen Zhiyi glanced at the caller ID and answered, “Yes, I’m at the hotel.”

Something was said on the other end, and she pursed her lips and chuckled, “Xiaoran said that? No, I was filming that day, I couldn’t attend.”

It was about the party on the Muse, having Fu Songzhi wasn’t enough, this girl wanted to deceive Pei Yu to show up to support her as well. Hence, she falsely claimed Shen Zhiyi would also attend. However, Pei Yu was well aware of Shen Zhiyi’s schedule, she couldn’t be fooled, so here he was, calling Shen Zhiyi to complain.

The girl was crafty, not as obedient as she seemed in front of her.

With her not being there, Huating was empty. Pei Yu lay back, his hand covering half of his eyes, feeling somewhat sleepy—waiting up for her to have time, it was tough on his health-conscious daily schedule.

“Will you be able to come back tomorrow?”

He knew she couldn’t, the shoot out of town would take at least three days, but he asked anyway. Shen Zhiyi might soften, and the likelihood of her coming back early was higher. He was well aware, yet he asked knowingly.

“I can’t.”

Sure enough, Shen Zhiyi hesitated, “If we wrap up early here, I’ll come back earlier.”

Noticing his voice was lower and more languid than usual, probably because he was tired, Shen Zhiyi spoke softly, “You should sleep.”

The call ended, and Shen Zhiyi turned around. Xu Xia was staring at her with a weird expression, or more precisely, at her phone, guessing who she had just been speaking with.

That soft tone, subtly revealing intimacy, before Xu Xia’s appearance, she only occasionally showed this side to Huo Heng.

With no intention of clarifying her doubts, Shen Zhiyi grasped the doorknob, somewhat mockingly, “I’m not like you.”

She smiled faintly, “I don’t become a third party that disrupts someone else’s marriage, but you do.”

She closed the door, locked it, and ignored her further.
