Chapter 310: Chapter 309: Third Madam Qiao’s past
"Oh, it’s late! I’ve got to get going," Qin Zhuzhu exclaimed.
"Hey, remember what I said. At least go take a look at him. We should at least cherish the good memories of anyone precious to us, even if it was just a fleeting moment. Good memories, bad memories, or even annoying memories are what make us humans, make i us who we are today," she poked his side with her elbow.
"That’s not my words. I got it from Sanya," she laughed. "See you next time," she waved at him and left.
Qin Zhuzhu didn’t know whether her words would encourage him and change his mind. Nevertheless she had done her best.
Shentu Chu watched her leave before shutting his eyes. How much time had he left? He didn’t know and he didn’t want to know.
Shentu Chu wandered the streets at night holding a fruity popsicle in one hand. In the other hand, he held tightly onto a cotton candy. He looked at the two food items. The popsicle was starting to melt.
Perhaps she was right. Even before he leave, he should at least leave a good memory. Shentu Chu had never felt so conflicted before. Her words swam around in his head, fighting against his other thoughts.
Finally he stuffed the popsicle into his mouth along with the cotton candy, gobbling up both before setting out towards a certain place.
Late at night, in a dark place.
"Did he get it?"
"Yes, third Madam. He did. We are not sure where he hid it,"
The woman hissed and clenched her fist before asking again, "Have you found out the identity of that mysterious masked man?"
"Madam, we haven’t," the man was scared to meet her eyes. His body shook and he averted her gaze.
"You’re really useless! I paid so much but all I got in return are your useless service! Tell your boss I want different agents! What’s the use of the high price if I get useless shit like you all?!" ƒrēenovelkiss.com
"Yes, ma’am," the man quickly said. In the first place he didn’t want to do this kind of job. If it wasn’t for the piling hospital bills, he rather stay at home and accompany his pregnant wife.
"I’ll get to it," he quickly left before his new boss could throw a tantrum.
Third Madam Qiao flung a vase of the table. It hit the door and crashed into pieces on the floor. The flowers’ stems were broken into pieces, some cut by the sharp porcelain.
The spies were useless. It seems like she will have to rely on her private bodyguards to do the job.
The only problem was that her bodyguards weren’t adapted to reconnaissance work.
"As long as I can get my hands on what should have belonged to me, I can do anything! I have been waiting for too long!
I cannot wait any longer!"
Third Madam Qiao looked at the envelope. Before that woman died, she had forcefully pulled out it out her hands. Until now, she still remembered how reluctant that woman was and wouldn’t let go of that paper. Thinking about that woman made Third Madam Qiao laughed.
"Please, they are my children! Don’t hurt them! Don’t take it away from them!" The woman cried pitifully, blood tickling down the side of her face. Her hair was a mess, black soot covered her pale face.
However, Third Madam Qiao had a ruthless and crazed look as she stepped on the woman’s wrist, pressing it into the broken pieces of glass on the road.
The woman screamed and gasped in pain, blood dripping down her chin.
The car was overturned, a tanker was spilling oil, many cars had crashed into one another in an unfortunate Domino effect. Smoke filled the air, in the distance they could hear people shouting and screaming. The woman couldn’t scream for help. Who would help her in this chaos?
The woman’s legs were pinned underneath the heavy metal yet she still wouldn’t let go of the envelope.
"What are you talking about? You are about to die, you and your daughter. You have no use for this! Why don’t you give it to me?" Third Madam Qiao taunted her and forcefully pulled it out of her grasp.
The woman weakly looked at her, a smile suddenly danced on her lips. "Even if you steal it, you will never get it. It is written there, in black and white.... Ah Chu will be my successor. You won’t get anything, not even a single penny. My sister, why did you have to do it?" The woman’s lips quivered and her breathing was getting weaker and weaker.
Blood pooled around her legs. The smell of oil became more and more heavier.
Third Madam Qiao squatted down to her level, her eyes maliciously glaring at her. Her lips curved into a wicked smile.
"Sister? Because I hate you. I hate you with all my heart! Mother and father placed all hopes on you but ignored me! I cannot stand your ugly face, so I had to destroy your happiness. Don’t worry, your daughter will meet you in hell. Certainly I have my ways to work around this," Those words were like bullets shot into the injured woman’s heart.
"But you don’t have worry, you can rest assured that I will take care of your son. Your good son, Ah Chu. Hahaha!" Third Madam Qiao left the scene, laughing mockingly. The car blew up into flames raging behind her.
Back to the present, Third Madam Qiao held that very same envelope in her hands. She opened the flap and pulled the papers.
Written in bold on top were the words DEATH WILL.
"All we need is that seal," a vicious smile spreaded across her lips.
Her phone rang and she saw that it was her husband, Qiao Nai.
What did he want? By now, he should have already suspected her.
Third Madam Qiao pressed the answer button.
"Hello honey," she said in a fake sweet voice.
"Don’t call me that!"
