Farming Games are All About Grinding-Chapter 103: A New Achievement
Chapter 103: Chapter 103: A New Achievement
"Strong dependency? So, it means clingy, right." Han Qiwu started to get a little worried. "As for the name, well, I don’t know if it’s male or female, so let’s just call it Little Shui for now. We can think of a more fitting nickname later."
[Little Shui has been successfully named]
[Fishing Pet: Little Shui]

After checking the attributes, Han Qiwu pulled up Little Prince’s stats for comparison.
Only then did he realize—this event wasn’t for nothing, and that rain was totally worth it!
Little Shui has three stars!
One more star than Little Prince!
But, unlike Little Prince, Little Shui is currently in its infant stage and is a little girl. If I’d known that earlier, I would’ve called her Little Princess.
Let’s keep reading.
That extra star really makes a difference.
Four skills right off the bat!
Han Qiwu noticed that the notes behind the fish, shrimp, and crab hunting skills all said "Pending Comprehension," not "Pending Learning."
This means there’s a good chance that these skills will be automatically learned once Little Shui enters the maturity stage.
That’d save so much effort!
I’ve had Little Prince for so long now, and not a single skill has been successfully taught.
Logging, coastal hunting—each one harder to learn than the last.
The likes are pretty normal. Swimming works out well since there’s a small pool at home. Let it play in there!
When Han Qiwu saw the last line—the note—a sudden ominous feeling crept into his heart.
A huge appetite?
When I got Little Prince, the system didn’t warn me about anything like this.
Something’s about to go wrong.
Han Qiwu opened the pet interface and saw that Little Shui’s location was back home. Looks like the system directly placed it there.
Better hurry back now; Little Shui’s satiety is only 20. Don’t let it starve later.
Closing the interface, Han Qiwu only then noticed a new system notification in front of him:
[You have achieved: Ancient Zoologist]
[Ancient Zoologist: You have interacted with three or more ancient creatures]
[Achievement Reward: 50% increased mutation chance for all animals you raise]
"Three kinds of ancient creatures? Little Prince counts as one, Little Shui counts as one, but what’s the third?" Han Qiwu thought for a while but couldn’t figure it out.
Forget it, too lazy to think about it.
Having one more achievement is always a good thing.
It’s just that this achievement reward feels a bit absurd.
Another mutation-related reward.
What if, when I get home, Wutong is filled with mutated creatures...?
I just want to eat eggs!
Egg stir-fry with chives! Fried eggs! Egg custard! Egg pancake!
On the way home, the rain had clearly intensified, but even so, while passing by the seaside, Han Qiwu still stopped to fish for half an hour.
There’s no other choice; the fish supply at home is nearly depleted, and I won’t be able to feed Little Shui without restocking.
Maybe because today’s rain was especially heavy, Han Qiwu had decent luck fishing, managing to catch more than ten large fish in just half an hour—totaling over sixty pounds.
"This should be enough for Little Shui to eat." Han Qiwu said confidently.
Packing up the fishing rod, he hopped on his bike and headed home.
Just as he got on the bike, maybe there was something under the front wheel, or maybe the seaside mud had gotten too slippery from the rain, Han Qiwu barely rode five or six meters before his bike tipped over, and he ended up eating a mouthful of mud, with the bike crashing onto him.
"Blegh, blegh, blegh!"
It took Han Qiwu a full minute to recover, pick up the bike, and slowly pedal home.
Travel is cursed!
You win this round!
When Han Qiwu returned home and stepped into the yard, he could immediately hear a commotion.
"Roar roar roar!" That’s Little Prince.
"Cheep cheep cheep cheep!" That’s the noisy little chickens.
"Whimper whimper, whimper whimper!" That’s...
Little Shui?
Why does it sound so much like a baby crying?
A frantic Han Qiwu didn’t care about the mud all over himself and quickly followed the sound to look for Little Shui, shouting for Little Prince along the way.
"Little Prince, don’t bully Little Shui!"
Doesn’t matter if you’re actually bullying or not, just shouting it first. Better safe than sorry.
Who told it to get here first? It’s the elder sibling in this household! It has to take extra care of its little sister!
"Roar!"
"Aaah!"
Little Prince’s cries sounded full of grievance as it ran toward Han Qiwu, covering its eyes.
"Run all you want, but why cover your eyes and pretend to be shy?" Han Qiwu stared at Little Prince in puzzlement, but once closer, he spotted a deep brown scarf rapidly moving across Little Prince’s body.
Wait a minute, where did Little Prince get a scarf from?
That’s not a scarf—
That’s Little Shui?
This little creature moves this fast?
Standing beside Han Qiwu, Little Prince still refused to uncover its face, and instead let out pitiful growling noises to plead for mercy.
"Little Shui? Sweetie, come over for some fish." Han Qiwu pulled out a large eel from his storage compartment and held it on his arm.
"Whimper whimper."
Spotting the food, Little Shui immediately let Little Prince off the hook, jumping off it and directly onto Han Qiwu’s arm, where it started eating.
When stationary, Little Shui looked obedient and absolutely adorable, letting out satisfied hums while munching on the eel. Its tail swayed from side to side—the little thing really must’ve been starving.
Its body measured about 0.4 meters long, covered in dark brown fur that gleamed with an oily shine. Touching its fur felt silky smooth, with an incredibly pleasant texture!
"Little Prince, did you provoke Little Shui earlier?" Han Qiwu questioned sternly.
Little Prince shook its head repeatedly, gesturing dramatically to explain.
The general gist was that Little Shui had suddenly appeared in the fish pond, and driven by a sense of duty to protect the house, it went over to investigate—only to have Little Shui climb onto its back.
Essentially, it claimed it was innocent and should be rewarded for defending the home.
"Really?" Han Qiwu asked with a hint of amusement.
"Yeah!" Little Prince nodded emphatically.
Han Qiwu pulled out a pound of honey from the storage and handed it over. "Fine, fine, good performance. Eat up! Remember, from now on, she’s your little sister—this household’s little princess. She’s young, so you can’t bully her."
"Okay!" Little Prince nodded while happily devouring the honey, though it still felt slightly indignant. When she grows up, who knows who’ll be bullying who!
"Even when she grows up, you still can’t bully her." Han Qiwu added.
"Whimper whimper."
"What’s wrong?"
Hearing Little Shui’s cries, Han Qiwu quickly lowered his head to inspect her condition.
What he saw gave him quite the shock.
The two-pound eel—within mere moments of conversation—had already been devoured entirely by Little Shui.
"Whimper whimper."
Little Shui clasped her hands together, bowing repeatedly. She half-stood upright, pleading pitifully.
"This doesn’t make sense. Where did you even fit all that meat?" Han Qiwu muttered as he pulled out another fish, balancing it on his arm while checking Little Shui’s stats.
One look, and Han Qiwu’s ominous feeling was confirmed.
Indeed, the system’s notes never lie.
A two-pound fish—something even Han Qiwu himself would feel full eating—barely increased her satiety by 8 points.
And, perhaps due to being in the infant stage, Little Shui’s maximum satiety capacity was a whopping 150 points.
Quick estimate—Little Shui would need about twenty eels a day just to feel full.
"Oh gods! How is this a reward? This is a trap!" Han Qiwu felt like he’d been conned.
Can I pick the reward again??
Who can even afford to raise something like this?!
