FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO-Chapter 326: A Futile Bargain
"Traitor." Regina snarled behind Sam as the old Butler led them through the narrow hallway that led to the guest rooms.
Sam didn't reply to her hostile remark. He pretended as though he didn't hear anything she said, infuriating Regina even more.
"Sister, what do we do to traitors, who backstabbed their mistress while pretending to be loyal?" Pearl sneered at the old butler as the latter stopped in front of a guest room and slowly unlocked the door for them.
"We pay him in the same coin by destroying his reputation before the same people he now serves. We also make sure he spends the rest of his miserable life in jail or worse, death." Regina spat out, her tone laced with enough venom to kill a thousand armies.
"Unless...." Pearl drawled, stepping in front of the old man and grabbing him by the collar of his neatly ironed suit jacket, in an attempt to choke the life out of him.
"Miss Pearl, please, you are harassing me." Sam's voice was hoarse as he struggled to release his collar from Pearl's choking grip.
Regina turned her head to the back to ensure no one was spying on them. She was unaware of the discreetly installed camera above them by the outer and inner door frame, which was currently capturing both their actions and words. She came up to the old man's side grinning devilishly.
"Unless you are ready to atone for all your sins by denouncing your employer and pledging your loyalty to us."
"So... Do you denounce your loyalty to Gregory Shaw and Amelia Anderson?"
"Never!" Sam choked on his words, heat and bile shooting up to his throat.
Regina leaned closer, grinning like an evil clown.
"Then prepare for destruction and death. I will take so much pleasure ripping your heart out of your old and stinking carcass."
"Let go of...."
Sam had barely completed his faint statement when two indoor security guards showed up unexpectedly.
"What is going on over there?" One of the security guards demanded harshly.
Pearl quickly released Sam and impulsively threw her arms around him, while some gulped in enough oxygen into his lungs.
"Oh, thank you, Sam. You are indeed a father with a kind heart." Pearl feigned a broken voice, squeezing out a few tears as she listened to the sounds of approaching boots.
What's happening here? Are we now in a military zone?' Regina pondered in slight alarm as she glared at the hefty guards.
"Madam..."
"What are you two doing here?"
Regina cut them off, raising her right hand in the air to stop them from coming any closer.
"We are doing our job, ma'am." The first security guard said politely. "Please, step aside."
"Inside the mansion!" Regina's eyes widened, her feet rooted to the ground. "Since when?"
Pearl quickly used these few moments of distraction to send home her threat. She leaned closer to Sam's right ear and whispered.
"If you breathe one word about our discussion to anyone, consider yourself a dead man. Have I made myself clear?" She dug her sharp nail into the old man's wrist.
"Can you please let go of me?" Sam shouted,
forcefully freeing himself from the demented woman's grip while allowing her to bruise the back of his wrist in the process.
This sudden twist of events and emotion forced Regina to snap her head backwards,
The security guards moved closer to investigate.
"Sam! What is wrong with you?" Pearl held her chest as if Sam had touched her inappropriately. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
"What did he do to you?" Regina's inflamed eyes narrowed at Sam's bruised and now bleeding wrist, while cursing under her breath.
"I was just hugging him in appreciation for everything he has done to keep the mansion intact, and then he forcefully pushed me away, hurting my babies." Pearl pouted, pushing her lips out as if she was about to cry.
"Sam!" Regina marched up to him and gave him a dirty slap. "How dare you touch my sister's breast, you old slimy maggot? Is this what you now do?"
Sam swallowed the stinging pain, raising his bleeding hand to his wrinkled cheek as evidence that everything Pearl said was a lie.
"I didn't touch her, Madam."
"Shut up! Are you calling me a liar?" Pearl screamed, her nose flared. She reached forward to also strike Sam, but one of the security guards stopped her.
"What are you doing?" Regina cried out in alarm, thinking the guard was about to beat them up.
"Get your filthy hands off me," Pearl wriggled her hand free, while shouting at the top of her voice, expecting some family members to hear her.
Sadly, no one heard her because they were all outside the mansion waiting for the senator and his brothers.
"Have you all gone mad?" Regina screamed, her flared gaze darting between Sam and the guards. "Don't you know who I am anymore?"
"Tell them, sister." Pearl sneered, her narrowed gaze fixed on Sam.
"I am the wife of the Senator Gregory Shawls, the lady of this mansion. I could have all of you fired for this insubordination and gross disrespect."
"Please forgive me, ma'am," Sam spoke up, maintaining a polite tone.
"Now the fool is sorry." Pearl scoffed, crossing her arms above her chest. But sound ignored her as he continued to address Regina.
"We will now leave to let you get ready for the welcoming party. I have already opened the door. Everything you need to get prepared is in there."
"Get lost, all of you." Regina bellowed, pointing forward.
Sam gave the security a nonverbal signal, and they all quietly left.
"Something is wrong." Pearl leaned closer, whispering into her sister's ears.
"And you think I haven't noticed it." Regina flashed her sister a nasty glare.
"What did I do?" Pearl frowned.
"Let's go inside." Regina turned the door knob and pushed the door open, pulling Pearl by the arm into the room. She slammed the door shut and further secured it with the inner locks before pulling her sister closer and whispering into her ears.
