Chapter 767: Slaughtering (Part 2)

A while later, Ding Huiqing glanced back, dissatisfied, and said, "He’s still following us. What’s his deal? Does he expect us to protect him all the way?"

Renshu Chang gave him a cold look and spoke loudly, "Brother Liao, you know exactly why those demonic beasts were chasing you. There are some things I don’t want to spell out too clearly."

Ethan Liao’s face stiffened, his eyes widening slightly.

Does he know something?

How could he know?

Fearing they might kill him for his treasure, he slowed down his pace, while Renshu Chang took the opportunity to lead the group away quickly, disappearing from sight.

Ethan Liao stood frozen, his face shifting between uncertainty and frustration.

There was no time for him to think it over as the angry roars of demonic beasts quickly echoed from behind him, making him even more irritated.

These demonic beasts never seemed to let up.

Why did they always find him so quickly?

He hesitated, wondering whether to follow the direction Renshu Chang had gone, but he feared they might kill him for his treasures.

In the end, he decided not to take the risk and fled in another direction.

In the dense forest, the blood-red light and flames formed a pillar of light that was shooting toward the sky.

The nearby birds and demonic beasts scattered around in panic, fleeing as far as they could.

Within a few hundred meters of the two combatants, everything was destroyed, leaving behind only the smell of burnt wood and earth.

When Kenny Lin arrived, he saw a large crater on the ground.

At the edge of the crater was the upper body of the person he was looking for, with a small pool of blood at her feet.

On the other side, Al’gath didn’t look much better.

Blood flowed from multiple wounds on his body, forming small streams around his feet, and he was still bleeding heavily.

Seeing Amalia, with Kenny Lin behind her, Al’gath’s face twisted with hatred, as if he wanted to devour them both.

He was out of tricks; even his strongest blood blade couldn’t defeat her.

The other devils were either dead, injured, or had fled.

Feeling the danger emanating from Kenny Lin, Al’gath gritted his teeth.

Suddenly, the blood at his feet began to move.

Just as Kenny Lin’s sword slashed towards him, the blood quickly enveloped his entire body.

The sword’s energy pierced through the blood mist, but Al’gath had vanished.

Several more sword strikes created another crater in the ground, but Al’gath was gone.

A cold aura surrounded Kenny Lin.

"Stop staring and help me up," Amalia said.

Kenny Lin came to her side and supported her right arm.

His palms were warm and sticky, covered in thick blood, and the air around them felt heavy.

"Are you badly hurt?"

"It just looks bad on the outside," Amalia said confidently, "He’s in worse shape than me. My original flames and the violent blade energy should be enough to take him down."

Even though Al’gath escaped, with injuries like that, if he didn’t get immediate treatment, he’d be as good as useless.

And with only one day left until the portal reopens, he had to survive until then, or else escaping would be pointless.

"I won’t let him go," Kenny Lin said.

"Do whatever you want," Amalia replied, not intending to stop him, "Did you leave that thing behind?"

Kenny Lin’s eyes flickered, "What thing?"

Amalia rolled her eyes, "I’m not dumb enough to not notice what’s happening with my own blade energy."

The black mist drained of the devil life force in the cave, and the way Nith looked after being seriously wounded—her eyes weren’t blind, she could clearly see what was happening.

"Martial Aunt," Renshu Chang said as he and Ding Huiqing finally arrived, looking at the scene of destruction around them.

They could already imagine how fierce the battle had been.

"I’m fine," Amalia quickly said before they could even ask.

She didn’t want to repeat herself.

Everyone was briefly stunned.

Renshu Chang said, "Good to hear. Should we head back to the portal now?"

Amalia nodded her head, "There’s only one day left. No need to keep hiding."

"You all go ahead. I have something to take care of," Kenny Lin suddenly said.

Amalia gave him a calm look and whispered a secret only the two of them knew, "Just one hour."

"Got it," Kenny Lin agreed without hesitation.

With only one day left until the portal reopened, the humans and devils who were scattered throughout the secret realm began making their way to their respective portal points.

A devil flew up from the bottom of a cliff.

Although he was covered in signs of a struggle, his face showed joy.

He had gained a lot this time, more than he had expected.

Shortly after entering the secret realm, he had fallen to the bottom of a cliff because of a demonic beast.

However, to his surprise, the bottom of the cliff was filled with valuable treasures, and no one was there to compete with him.

The devil had spent his time searching for resources at the bottom of the cliff and missing the major battle that had taken place above.

Only on the last day of the month-long period did he fly back up.

After determining the direction of the portal point, the young devil quickly sped off toward it.

He was fortunate not to have participated in the battle between devils and humans, so he was completely unaware of what had happened in the secret realm.

As he moved swiftly through the forest, a sudden scream echoed ahead.

The young devil recognized the scream as coming from one of his kind and hastened his pace.

Without the trees blocking his view, he finally saw what was happening up ahead.

His entire body went cold, and a shiver spread from his heart outward.

In the trampled grass ahead, two devils were crawling in fear, one missing a leg, the other missing both a leg and an arm.
