Chapter 774: The Arrival Of The City Lord Of The Night Sorrow City (Part 2)

But even after waiting a while, they didn’t see anyone coming out from the stabilized passage.

After a while, two young devils came running out with unhappy looks on their faces.

Once they were out of the passage, they showed relief at having survived.

When they saw their elders, they immediately began to cry.

"Why are there only two of you? Where are the others?" The others couldn’t hold back and rushed over.

Just as the two were about to speak, the vortex of the passage twisted again.

Not long after that, a blood-covered figure in green then fell out from the vortex.

"Al’gath!"

A middle-aged devil recognized the figure and rushed over to catch him.

When he saw that Al’gath was covered in wounds that were still bleeding, he was furious.

As soon as Al’gath exited the passage, he lost consciousness.

The middle-aged devil quickly tried to stop the bleeding but found that the wounds wouldn’t be closed.

Even after transferring energy into his body, he could only slightly slow down the bleeding.

At that moment, The City Lord of the Night Sorrow City walked over and noticed the wounds.

His eyes narrowed slightly and said, "These injuries aren’t ordinary; the wounds are being damaged further by blade energy."

"Please, City Lord, help him," the middle-aged devil pleaded.

Seeing the City Lord of the Night Sorrow City gave him hope.

If anyone could help, it would be him.

"The blade energy is very strong, but the one who wielded it is still weak."

The City Lord of the Night Sorrow City placed his hand on Al’gath’s wrist, sending a powerful surge of energy into his body.

The overwhelming force crushed the stubborn blade energy, and finally, the bleeding stopped.

The middle-aged devil had just let out a sigh of relief.

"Don’t get too happy yet," the Night Sorrow City Lord warned, "That blade energy has probably been in his body for at least a day. The damage to his body is severe. Even after he recovers, his power will definitely decrease."

The City Lord of the Night Sorrow City held back his urge to question more.

If it weren’t for the fact that Al’gath was one of the most talented young devils, he wouldn’t have gone to such lengths for an ordinary devil.

"No matter what, it’s good that he’s still alive. We can deal with the rest later," the middle-aged devil replied, though deep inside, he felt a growing sense of dread.

Al’gath was incredibly strong, so for him to be this badly injured, could it mean that there was an even stronger genius among the humans?

Only someone of equal talent could injure Al’gath this severely—unless multiple human geniuses had attacked him together.

The middle-aged devil gave Al’gath more life-saving medicine before turning around to the other two surviving devils.

"What happened in the secret realm? How did Al’gath get so badly hurt? Where are the others?"

The two young devils suddenly shrank back, one of them widening his eyes in fear.

"Speak," the middle-aged devil commanded loudly.

One of the devils shouted, "They’re all dead. Only the three of us survived."

His eyes were wide with terror as if the scene was still playing out before him.

The elders of the other devil factions looked grim.

They never imagined they would suffer such heavy losses—everyone had fallen inside.

"What exactly happened? Did the demonic beasts inside suddenly go on a rampage?" one of the devil elders asked, unable to believe that the humans were that powerful.

"The demonic beasts did go on a rampage..." the young devil hesitated.

"I knew it," the devil elder nodded their heads, satisfied with the explanation.

There was no way those humans were that strong.

The young devil noticed that the others had misunderstood and became a bit anxious, but he found it hard to say the words.

His reaction caught the eye of the Night Sorrow City Lord, whose expression suddenly darkened, "The demonic beasts went on a rampage, and then what?"

His voice was filled with barely contained anger, making the young devil tremble.

He was even more afraid to speak, thinking the City Lord of the Night Sorrow City was also angry at them.

"I...," the young devil stammered, looking like he was about to cry as he glanced at his elder.

The middle-aged devil quickly realized something was wrong, "So, does this have nothing to do with the demonic beasts?"

With a trembling voice, the young devil replied, "The demonic beast rampage wasn’t our fault. It seemed like the humans caused it. Our people were killed by the humans."

Even though the devil elders had suspected this, their faces still changed when they heard the confirmation.

"Who killed Aarzostes?" The City Lord of Night Sorrow City could no longer contain his anger.

He grabbed the young devil, who started shaking like a leaf, his lips quivering as he struggled to speak.

"City Lord, please calm down. Let them catch their breath. This is a serious matter, and they’re the only survivors," one of the City Lord’s trusted aides quickly advised, seeing that the young devil was about to faint from fear.

The City Lord of the Night Sorrow, though anxious, knew his aide had a point.

He finally let go of the young devil.

The young devil’s elder immediately stepped in to comfort him, "Zuvid, don’t worry. We’re outside now; no one will hurt you. Just answer the City Lord’s questions truthfully."

Zuvid calmed down a little and nodded his head, "Okay, Uncle, I’m not scared. I’ll tell you what happened inside."

"I don’t know who killed Aarzostes. When our people arrived, Aarzostes was already dead. A lot of the others were killed by the disciples of the Green Lotus Sect."

The young devil briefly described their battle with the human disciples, showing a hint of fear, "The Green Lotus Sect disciple named Amalia is very terrifying. The reason Al’gath was so badly injured is because of her. Even though she’s only at the mid-level of the Golden Core stage, she could easily defeat Al’gath, who is at the Great Leader-level. She might have been the one who killed Aarzostes, too."
