Chapter 64: The Xia Patriarch’s Wrath, and Lan Qisheng’s Uncontrollable Laughter"
As everything came to a close, laughter and smiles filled the atmosphere, and celebratory sounds echoed all around. As everyone was basking in their survival, Sian observed that the masked rescuers who had rescued them had vanished into thin air.
Not dwelling much on this, Sian turned to the Xia family, a wide smile on his face, and said, "All is okay now. Let us go home."
Of course, those were directed towards Lan Qisheng, beside the Shi twins. Yet, for some unspoken reason, the entire Xia family seemed targeted by those words—to think Sian was going back with them.
As Madam Xia was on the verge of saying something, there was a boisterous sobbing which cut into the tranquil atmosphere. Bai Yushi himself was the source of the crying, hiding his face in Madam Xia’s arms and sobbing, "Mom! Mom! I was so scared! Mom."
Bai Yushi continued crying, but a few seconds later, realizing nobody was holding him or comforting him, he dropped it. Slowly, he withdrew from the arms of Madam Xia and stared at her and the twins beside her distrustfully.
The Xia family always tried their best to bring a smile to his face, never letting him endure any grievances. Madam Xia, especially, couldn’t stand to look at his tearful eyes. Now, however, everyone was gazing at him with the same expression as if he were a clown. freёnovelkiss.com
And all because of him.
Bai Yushi scowled at Sian with dagger-packed eyes, hate blazing from their depths as he stood to the side, regarding her with perfect disinterest.
One would have thought one had neatly forgotten that which he had just a moment before—forgotten himself, erased from his mind that which had been. How typical of a rank lotus, rank to the core.
"Scowl at me like that anymore, and I’ll pluck those eyes out for you."
Who was Sian? Even if he seemed like a harmless lamb at the moment, he was nothing less than a fierce predator. He had no reason to tolerate anyone who showed him hostility—especially not some brainless lotus, full of schemes and filth.
"Brother, look at him! He wants to hurt me!"
Naturally, Bai Yushi clung to Ziming’s sleeve, knowing full well how much Ziming resented Sian. But to his misfortune, after everything that had just happened, Ziming no longer harboured any hostility toward Sian. In fact, there had never been any true hatred to begin with.
When facing Sian, Ziming had always felt anger and frustration—not because he despised him, but because Sian had always met him with cold, mocking eyes. But now, after Sian had shielded him and grasped his hand in that moment of crisis, all his grievances melted away. He was even grateful for the shift in their relationship.
Well, they did say that blood was thicker than anything else.
"Get away from me."
Ziming shook Bai Yushi’s hands off him and said coldly, "After all the benefits you’ve received from our family, the moment trouble came, you ran away, saying you had nothing to do with us. You’re nothing but an ungrateful wolf. From this day forward, don’t show yourself before me again. Otherwise..."
Ziming clenched his fist and raised it slightly toward Bai Yushi, who froze in fear. At that moment, Bai Yushi finally remembered what he had done—what he had said.
Panic set in as he frantically tried to explain, looking at Madam Xia and then at Weilian. "I-I was scared... I didn’t know what to do... I... I’m part of your family! I was just so frightened that I said those things, but I’m your son, Mom!"
In the past, Bai Yushi’s tears had always been his ultimate weapon against the Xia family. They simply couldn’t bear to see those amber eyes filled with sadness. As a result, Bai Yushi had become a master at turning on the waterworks, using his tears as a high-quality, foolproof trick. Whenever he made a mistake or wanted something, he would cry like a waterfall, and the Xia family would cave to his demands.
"Bai Yushi."
Weilian called out his full name, making Bai Yushi flinch and immediately stop crying.
"Do you really think we were unaware of your petty little tricks? We’re not fools. From the moment you entered the Xia family and pulled your stunts, we knew everything. We just never exposed you."
Weilian’s gaze was sharp. "But that wasn’t because we adored you so much. It was because our mother wasn’t in good health after losing our little brother. Years ago, when you and your mother showed up, and she saw your eyes, she was reminded of him. Our younger brother had almost the same eye colour as you.
"Since then, when you started coming and going from the Xia family, our mother’s condition improved slightly. That was the only reason my father and I turned a blind eye to your antics—why we tolerated your arrogance, your flaunting of wealth, and your belief that you were the only cherished son of the Xia family. But now..."
Weilian glanced at his mother, then shifted his gaze to Sian, who stood quietly nearby.
Sian’s amber eyes were the rarest, most beautiful shade—like the most exquisite gemstone.
Weilian’s memories of their younger brother were hazy, as he had been too young when the kidnapping occurred. But for some reason, he felt that if their little brother’s eyes had been as bright as their mother always described, then Sian’s eyes were the only ones that could match them.
Weilian didn’t say anything more. Instead, he simply ignored Bai Yushi, took his mother’s hand—who, in turn, clung tightly to Sian’s—and led her out of the hotel.
Of course, their departure wasn’t as peaceful and quiet as their arrival.
Downstairs, police cars, ambulances, and reporters filled the scene. It was complete chaos.
The primary reason for the police’s delayed arrival was that no one had been able to contact them earlier. So, when the masked individuals stormed into the hotel so openly—without any attempt at concealment—the people downstairs, naturally, called the authorities in a panic.
But as always, the police only arrived after everything was over.
Truly, what was the point of them?
As the Xia family exited, Madam Xia was nestled completely in Sian’s arms. He had draped his jacket over her, shielding her from the blinding flashes of cameras and the suffocating questions from reporters. Then, they swiftly made their way to the car Lan Qisheng had brought over at some point.
Sian, Madam Xia, and Ziming sat in the back, while Weilian took the passenger seat next to Lan Qisheng.
Their destination? The Xia family’s villa.
Not because Sian had any intention of going there, but because Father Xia had been calling non-stop, demanding to know about his wife and children’s condition. And so, Lan Qisheng had no choice but to drive them there, despite originally planning to take Sian home.
When they arrived at the villa, the car slowly rolled to a stop beside the grand fountain in front of the entrance.
Sian stepped out with Madam Xia and the twins, followed by Lan Qisheng. But before they could take another step, Father Xia’s voice rang out.
"You’re back! How are they? Are you injured? Huh? Is anyone in pain? I’ve brought the medical team—they’re inside!"
Amidst his barrage of questions, Father Xia didn’t remain idle. He immediately rushed to his wife, checking her from head to toe for injuries.
He only stopped when she smacked him across the face.
Only then did he shift his attention to Sian—doing the exact same thing.
Sian froze. The others did too.
But Father Xia was too preoccupied to notice. When he rolled up Xian’s sleeve and saw the faint bruises and purpling marks, the old man’s eyes grew misty.
Then, he turned to the twins and scolded them fiercely.
"You useless brats! How could you let Sian get injured like this?! Huh?! Why didn’t you protect him?! What’s the point of all those muscles?! Why do we even have a two-million-dollar, top-tier training room in this villa if you can’t even handle a few men?!"
Weilian: "..."
Ziming: "..." (●_●)
Lan Qisheng couldn’t hold back his laughter and burst out laughing.

Song Zijian: "Why am I not in this Chapter? I was at the party too! I was there, but you made me a laughingstock, crying in some abandoned corner where no one even cared about me! And to make it worse, you took my brother Jiang, and I have no idea where you kept him all night—I couldn’t find him anywhere!"
....
"I am the star! I am the protagonist! You should have focused on me and Jiang Hangyu, not that whore! I alone deserve to be in the spotlight! I’m better than Xian in everything! I... I... I—"
Erato-san:"...Alright."
"I’ve had enough..."
"I’ll just kill him."
"Yes, let’s just make him disappear from this world."
"Don’t stop me."
"Let me go."
"I said let me go."
"... I’m killing this $##$#...."
