Galaxy Domination Guide-Chapter 782 - 768 fast response
Chapter 782: 768 fast response
“Alarm! A large-scale Swarm force has emerged in the Square Arm Great Star Zone at Clinch Star, led by a previously unseen Duke of the Swarm, with unknown capabilities!”
Almost two seconds after Duke Qingye appeared in the orbit of Clinch Star’s Gravity Well, Bai Zhongqi on the First Galactic Star had already received information from the early-warning system deployed there.
There was no need for Bai Zhongqi to authorize or issue commands; to hasten the response chain, the United Empire’s quick response forces immediately mobilized. Bai Zhongqi had established a total of 22 quick response forces specifically to deal with sudden Swarm attacks. The finest generals from the Iridium Star, including several Knights, were on rotating shifts, ensuring that at least two-thirds of the units were on standby at all times.
Upon receiving the alarm, without the need for a commander’s orders, the preemptive system’s AI automatically allocated Chi Jia’s unit for action, which had already initiated warp. Although warp initiation naturally took some time, this response was so swift that Bai Zhongqi was also left speechless.
“Within just five seconds, the quick response forces have already begun warping, I think we have a chance this time,” Lingjiaweixing excitedly said to Bai Zhongqi.
Bai Zhongqi, although silent, couldn’t hide the anticipation in his eyes.
The dispatched Knight Chi Jia was acutely aware of the pressure on his shoulders, as the United Empire had seen more than a dozen planets damaged to varying degrees. The entire United Empire, including the nearly thousand affiliated civilizations, was eagerly hoping that the formidable military might of the Iridium Star could achieve results in the actions against the Insectoid incursions.
Chi Jia had almost memorized his combat code, but facing an almost Star God Level Duke of the Swarm, he still felt somewhat uncertain.
This Knight’s nervousness did not escape the keen observation of Valkyrie Captain Aili, who accompanied him. Taller than Chi Jia, the Valkyrie revealed a slight contemptuous demeanor.
“Let us, the Valkyries, handle that Insectoid Duke, Sir Knight. Your task is to initiate the Spatial Seal and deal with the fully-formed Insectoids,” she said.
From the corpses of the Insectoids, the people of the Iridium Star had gained some understanding of what kind of beings they were dealing with, and the difference between mature forms and fully-formed Insectoids. The Iridium Star’s biological research institutions were also working day and night attempting to develop a biological weapon targeting the genetic structure of the Insectoids, but this project was still without a breakthrough.
Chi Jia glanced at the fit Valkyrie captain, clearly aware of her disdain for him. However, from what he had seen of the Valkyries he had interacted with, these frighteningly powerful female monsters seemed to look down on everyone except Bai Zhongqi, exceedingly arrogant, yet also profoundly uncomplicated, devoid of cunning and wit.
Chi Jia wouldn’t engage in a war of words with Aili. He knew Aili had a clump of Primordial Matter bestowed by Bai Zhongqi, which was currently the best weapon against the Insectoid Duke. What he was mainly concerned about was how to successfully open the Spatial Seal and protect Clinch Star to the greatest extent possible, as there was a significant difference between the overall survival or destruction of Clinch Star.
On the orbit of Clinch Star, Duke Qingye already surveyed the entirety of the planet, not even bothering with a glance at the retreating Star Whale squadrons, nor caring for the evidently reinforced orbital weapon platforms.
The defensive system of Clinch Star’s orbit had been recently enhanced; Bai Zhongqi had started sending automated military bases to all affiliated civilizations, these platforms fully operated by AI and equipped with Atomic Substance Construction factories. The affiliated civilizations supplied resources to the orbit bases, which in turn automatically produced various types of deployable orbital attack modules.
These newly-formed weapon platforms were a heavy investment from Bai Zhongqi, who even implemented some technologies previously not considered for these types of facilities, such as the Incandescence Cannon and the latest generation of Super Fusion Fusion Bombs.
“Tumble and twist, you creatures driven by desire, erupt with your instincts, slaughter, pillage, consume, let me see your magic!” Aoyama’s insectoid hands seemed to spill out a myriad of stars, scattering them towards Clinch Star.
Unlike the direct and domineering abilities of Dukes like Lindong and Canxing, Aoyama’s power was psychic waves. Many Star Warriors researched this, using waveforms to guide and manipulate living organisms, causing them to do unexpected things. And Aoyama’s psychic waves were so powerful they could affect all the creatures on an entire planet, sparking their most primal savagery and destructive force.
With just a gentle push from Aoyama’s demonic hand, the whole Clinch Star plunged into a state of madness, unless they had sufficient Star Energy to resist, everyone was dominated by a strong desire for destruction and violence, and they began to furiously attack every living creature or object around them.
Aoyama’s methods might have been more brutal and bloodier than those of Lindong or Canxing, but they wouldn’t destroy an entire planet in a short period.
And that gave Chi Jia and Aili the opportunity to strike.
Fifteen seconds after Aoyama launched the psychic wave attack, a large number of Iridium Star Warships arrived via warp.
A hint of shock and rage appeared in Aoyama’s insect eyes because the force the Iridium Star people sent this time was somewhat unbearable.
The tens of thousands of warships from a Strategic Fleet immediately began a frenzied assault once they finished warping. Many warships, very purposefully, enveloped Aoyama in their firepower. Aoyama had to reduce her psychic wave output on Clinch Star and initiated a short warp to dodge immediately.
However, even as she dodged swiftly, the super-dense firepower from tens of thousands of warships still meant that she was hit by the explosion nearby right after she dodged the first time.
The defense platforms originally in orbit around Clinch Star were very formidable on their own, and when the millions of fully-formed Insectoids first emerged, they hadn’t been able to completely destroy these platforms—even suffering heavy losses from them. When Chi Jia arrived with the large fleet, the power of the second Swarm was severely curtailed immediately.
Chi Jia took action right away, launching the ship in the fleet that served as a Spatial Seal generator. A colorless shockwave suddenly expanded outwards from the ship at its center.
When she felt this shockwave, Aoyama’s face changed. Her insectoid face trembled slightly, clearly understanding exactly what had just taken place and what it meant for her.
“Spatial Seal completed, the Insectoid Duke can no longer leave the Gravity Well of Clinch Star, commencing encirclement combat mode, the operation to deploy the portable Stargate begins.”
Bai Zhongqi didn’t design the rapid-response units to create something like a fish tank where both sides fight to the death in a confined space, like Pilgrims might. He equipped the rapid-response units with a Spatial Seal generator, as well as a portable Stargate. Although this Stargate was one-time use and could only be maintained for 12 hours, it was enough for Bai Zhongqi to deploy even more forces afterward, to completely defeat the Insectoids.
