Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge-Chapter 81: I’m worth more
Chapter 81: I’m worth more
Everyone turned to look at Cecilia when they heard her voice.
Cecilia wasn’t particularly eager to help Diana. It was just that seeing Diana being ridiculed reminded her of when she first showcased her talents abroad and faced jealousy and difficulty from others.
Besides, apart from her, Diana was the only other younger relative from her Great-aunt’s side. If Great-aunt knew Diana was being bullied, she might lose sleep. So, for the sake of the old lady’s well-being, Cecilia decided to help.
Thinking of this, she turned to Diana and said, "Tomorrow, I can call Rainy and ask her to come to your place to guide you."
Everyone was stunned again.
Diana thought Cecilia was just saying this to help her out of the awkward situation, but she didn’t know the impact Rainy had domestically, so it seemed exaggerated.
However, Selina and her friends knew of Rainy’s influence and thought this would only lead to Cecilia’s ridicule.
She shook her head and said.
"It’s okay, Cecilia, having you play with me is enough."
"Let’s go practice quickly."
With that, she grabbed Cecilia’s hand, intending to leave the whirlpool of conflict, but Selina wasn’t willing to let them go that easily.
"Why don’t you switch to orchestral music instead of playing the piano?
"Let me think... What’s the best instrument for you two to play...? freewebnσvel.cѳm
"How about... blowing your own horn? You seem pretty good at that."
Selina’s words caused everyone to burst into laughter.
Richard joined in the laughter too, but when he saw Diana’s disappointed look, he quickly restrained his smile and spoke up for her, "Alright, Diana didn’t mean it. Her cousin here is from the countryside, inexperienced, so don’t mind her."
Richard didn’t actually intend to help Diana, but as her boyfriend, he couldn’t go too far.
After all, he needed Diana and Selina to compete for him until the graduation ball was over. Only in this way can he gain resources from the big shots without having to pay for anything.
Four years ago, Richard had fought his way out of the small town with his skills to get into this top music academy, becoming the town’s pride. But what then? Without these two women, after graduation, he would only be a teacher in a small town.
So, everything he had was changed by his desires.
And Diana was his first target at school—she was obedient, understanding, quiet, and reserved. A perfect example of an affluent young lady. Most importantly, she listened to him, making her easy to control.
So, appropriate rewards and favoritism became his ultimate tools to hold Diana under his thumb.
But this time, he hadn’t expected Diana to actually not appreciate his help with Cecilia by her side.
"What do you know? How dare you speak about Cecilia like that?!"
Cecilia was surprised to hear Diana speak like this. It was her first time seeing Diana angry, and she hadn’t expected it to be for her.
Having been pushed aside by Sophie since childhood, she had never experienced sibling friendship, and naturally, she didn’t know what it felt like. But this time, she actually felt it from Diana, whom she had just met a day ago.
Selina was also taken aback by Diana’s outburst, and seeing Richard saying nothing, she coldly snorted.
"Even if we don’t know her well, we know Rainy very well. For her to say Rainy would guide you is only something shamelessly ignorant people would say!"
Cecilia smirked.
"I keep my word. Not only will Rainy coach Diana, but I’ll also ask her to blacklist you directly."
With that, she pulled Diana out.
This wasn’t a good place to stay anyway. Old Ari’s place had plenty of good pianos.
As they walked, Diana suddenly stopped.
Then she held her legs and crouched down, her shoulders shaking, clearly crying.
"Do you really like him?"
Diana nodded. She didn’t know Richard targeted her from the start. She only knew Richard had given her warmth and care, making her gradually fall for him.
Cecilia frowned. She clearly couldn’t understand what was so likable about such a man.
But she still said, "If you still like him, I can bring him out to meet you, so you two can reconcile."
After a long silence, Cecilia lost her patience.
She was about to go back and drag Richard out when Diana grabbed her hand.
"No need, Cecilia. His love is too cheap. I’m worth more."
Cecilia hummed in agreement, but she couldn’t stop the smile spreading across her lips.
Diana was surely Walton’s daughter.
After clearing things up, they were in high spirits and decided to indulge a bit.
An hour later, they found themselves in a luxury private room in a club.
Originally, Diana was the only one drinking. But after she got slightly tipsy, she looked at Cecilia with a lovely smile.
"Cecilia, you’re so nice. Why didn’t we get to know each other sooner?"
Cecilia chuckled, not responding.
Diana grabbed a bottle and skillfully opened it. On the surface, she seemed harmless, but she was evidently a regular here.
Cecilia had a newfound respect for her.
"Cecilia, drink!"
Cecilia intended to refuse, but seeing Diana’s eager eyes, she took a sip.
It turned out that one sip was enough to let Cecilia completely let go.
Before they knew it, night had fallen. Their cheeks were flushed, and their speech slurred.
"Cecilia, as a woman...we should just ask for what we want directly..."
Cecilia raised her bottle. "Right!"
With that, she opened her phone and called someone.
The call was answered immediately, and Steven’s deep voice came through.
"Miss Morrison?"
"Steven... I want... I want you..."
