Guide To Reign My Tycoon Husbands-Chapter 532: No moon Prev
When the servant who brought his child to work saw the scene on the balcony, she was startled. She immediately rushed past the crowd of onlookers and then helped her son up before bringing him into her arms. Nervously, she stood up and looked at Luo Huian and Fan Meilin. She had no idea what had happened, but from what she could see, her son seemed to have caused trouble.
"I— I-I am sorry. My husband is sick today and we couldn't leave the child at home, or else he would get sick as well. So, I brought him along with me. I didn't know that it wasn't allowed," the servant apologised while sweating profusely.
From Fan Meilin's expression, it was clear that he disliked children and yet she brought her son with her. The servant was worried that she would be kicked out and thus apologised again and again. frёeωebɳovel.com
This job was really good, and she didn't want to lose it.
"There is no need to apologise." Luo Huian glanced at the mer whose complexion was rather pale and said, "This is our fault. No matter what the situation might be, my husband shouldn't have hit your child. I will apologise to you in his stead."
Fan Meilin stiffened when he heard his wife's words. The anger in his heart spiralled out of control and he stated angrily, "I just despise children; is there something wrong with that!?? He is the one who clung to me when I was least expecting it— I was simply startled."
"Who asked him to act all whiny and clingy with me? And just because he didn't get what he wanted, he threw a hissy fit. So, who do you think is at fault?"
"You are an adult, Meilin." Ye Shun frowned when he heard the words of his son-in-law and reproachfully said to him, "You cannot say such words to a child. Are you going to do the same thing when you have a child of your own?"
Ye Shun's casual words poked the wound in Fan Meilin's heart. However, he still remembered the words of his father and knew that he couldn't show his feelings on his face, so he drew in a breath and then walked past everyone.
Qi Yongrui watched the mer leave and frowned. This was his first time seeing Fan Meilin acting like this. Though that mer was indeed a bit bad-tempered, he had never done anything that would ruin his or the family's name. What was going on? What made Fan Meilin so unhappy?
He was not the only one having such thoughts; even Luo Huian was troubled by Fan Meilin. The reason was simple, as the mer's aura of gloom was going crazy. She raised her hand and pinched the space between her eyebrows.
What kind of tantrum was this? He hit the child and then did such a thing?
Though Luo Huian was confused by his actions, she had understood the mer a little these past few days. Though he looked like he was bad-tempered, arrogant and ruthless, Fan Meilin was really soft and docile.
Like a porcupine, he would not say a word against anyone unless something big happened. Which meant that he didn't lose his temper for no reason.
She sighed and then turned to look at the crying child before saying to him, "It's alright; sister will give you cake. Do you like cake?"
When the mer heard that he would get to eat a cake, he stopped crying and looked at Luo Huian with big, fat tears in his eyes. He blinked his lashes and questioned, "Really?"
"Really," Luo Huian agreed.
When the servant saw that Luo Huian was coaxing her son, she raised her hand and waved in refusal. She said, "There is no need, miss. My son is a real troublemaker. I told him that he should stay by my side, but he came out of the kitchen."
"There is no need to blame him." Luo Huian touched the cheek of the mer who was looking at her with wide, grape-like eyes. She said to the woman, "He must have felt hot due to the weather and the steam in the kitchen, which is why he left the room. How can we blame the child?"
She smiled at the child, who smiled back at her. Seeing that the little one was coaxed, Luo Huian heaved a sigh of relief. She then thought of the big child who was sitting angrily in his room and sighed before thinking of making another cake to coax him.
Fan Meilin was indeed sitting in his room with his face buried in his knees. He wished he could slap himself in the face for acting like an idiot. Now that he was calm, he couldn't believe that he pushed the child away in surprise and caused the poor guy to cry like that.
No wonder Luo Huian looked at him like that; if he were in her place, he too would have looked at himself as if he were a disgusting creature. Was there any difference between doing that and shouting out loud that he couldn't have children? He didn't think so!
The sound of the door opening caused the mer to stiffen. He was certain that Luo Huian was about to yell at him. But when the sound of footsteps echoed in the room, it brought a sweet scent of a tempting delight instead of the yells that he was waiting for.
He raised his head and looked at Luo Huian, who was standing right next to him, with a bunch of Mont Blanc cupcakes on the tray that she was holding.
She said to him, "Here. You didn't eat anything, right? Take a few bites of this, and if you feel like eating, I will bring you a bowl of rice and soup."
After she finished speaking, she turned on her feet to head out, thinking that Fan Meilin wouldn't want to see her at the moment, but the mer reached out and caught her wrist. He said to her, "I didn't do it." He raised his head and repeated when he saw that Luo Huian didn't understand what he was trying to say, "I didn't hit the child. He fell on his own when I turned around."
Luo Huian arched her brow; she said to him, "I know."
"You do?" Fan Meilin repeated with a confused look in his eyes. "But you—"
"I said those words because I was worried that the servants would blame you if you were not punished for your actions. Now that you have been told off, the servants would at least discuss the matter, but won't say things like, we bully them in front of others."
Luo Huian was considerate of things, which made Fan Meilin even more ashamed of himself. Just now, he thought that Luo Huian was blaming him, but it turned out that she was looking after him. She was right. If he wasn't scolded in front of others, the servant would think that he was a tyrant, and the rest of the family was not a good thing either.
It was better to be embarrassed for a while than to get his reputation smeared.
"I apologise." Fan Meilin lowered his head as he took the fork from Luo Huian and then started eating the Mont Blanc cupcakes that she brought for him. Just like always, when he took a bite, all the feelings of gloom and resentment calmed down, and he said to Luo Huian, "I really didn't expect such a thing to happen. It is always like this. When it's a no-moon night, something bad always happens to me."
He had just finished speaking when Luo Huian beside him stiffened.
No moon night?
She raised her head and looked at the sky, which was so dark that she could only see a few twinkling stars; it was just as Fan Meilin said. There was no moon in the sky, which made the entire night even darker. Seeing this, Luo Huian cursed out. She should have paid attention to this thing. Now this was good; she had caused trouble for herself on her own.
"You should finish eating the cakes if you like them." Luo Huian looked away in an instant as if she was trying to avoid the temptation in front of her and then said to Fan Meilin, "I will go and take a look outside to see if everything is alright or not."
After she finished speaking, she turned on her feet and headed out of the room, but she didn't even take three steps outside before the mer on the bed reached out and held her hand. He questioned, "What's wrong? Do you dislike me now?"
Because he had been filled with anxiety, the sudden change in her attitude made Fan Meilin really worried. Everything was fine, so why did this woman say that she was leaving? Did she think that he was being irresponsible by putting it all on fate? But he truly meant it!
