Nothing was stopping Kyle from taking the much-needed step to redeem himself.

He felt lost however he couldn't escape his fate.

Kyle came back home but this place didn't feel like home.

It felt like a prison. The air wasn't refreshing; it was poisonous, but Kyle needed to face this.

Something was standing in his way, what was stopping him from remembering?

Where did this system spawn from and why was it giving him skills associated with the things he lacked during his childhood?

Kyle ran to where the police officers were located because he knew things could escalate if he left them alone.

The people here weren't a fan of the cops and perceived them negatively.

But upon Kyle's arrival, he saw that Priscilla had everything under control but there was no ambulance in sight.

"What the… Where is the ambulance!?" Kyle was furious but Priscilla didn't look bothered by his tantrum.

"Where are they?" Priscilla asked, ignoring his request.

Kyle knew there was no need to get all worked up because Priscilla was the kind of person who was in complete control of her emotions.

Oliver looked worried about the situation, Kyle could tell with a single glance that he was the empathic one among them.

"This way," Kyle led them to the corner in which the fight occurred.

He was worried that the damage he had done to the man could potentially leave him brain-damaged but he had a little sister to take care of so if Kyle took him away from her.

It was only a matter of time before she died as there would be no other means for her to survive.

Kyle didn't know about this or he would have taken a different approach but he had a choice to make in the end.

Kyle led them right to the child and her unconscious brother, the child had a wide smile on her face as she was munching on something.

"Hello Jasmine," Kyle greeted the child and she turned away with excitement in her eyes.

"Kyle!" Jasmine exclaimed, running right at him, she had 0 survival skills if he was this trusting of strangers.

It was understandable considering the way she lived her life but this also showed her brother's inability to protect her.

If he was a junkie, there was no way he could protect his sister when he was only worried about his next fix.

Jasmine hugged him and Kyle looked over at the officers, trying to give them an explanation but there wasn't any to be given.

"Are these the doctors?" The child questioned but this was proof of her innocence.

She stared at them with a look of curiosity but Kyle understood it was his duty to educate her about these things.

"Those are police officers and they are here to help your brother," The moment Kyle muttered "police officers," He noticed Jasmine tense up.

This wasn't a new word to her, she had this and immediately ran to her brother.

"DON'T HURT HIM!" Jasmine exclaimed with her arms outstretched like she was forming a barrier that rejected anything outside of it.

"Jasmine, it's not like that. They are here to help," Kyle reassured.

"LIAR! POLICE ARE BAD!" Jasmine exclaimed and tears welled up in her eyes but Oliver stepped forward.

Kyle didn't know what he had planned but felt safer with Oliver handling this situation as opposed to Priscilla.

Oliver was more in touch with his humanity rather than Priscilla.

He stepped up to Jasmine and the way she was trembling, it was like her little body would crumble at any moment.

"It is fine… We are here to help your brother," Oliver reiterated.

But his voice softened and thankfully, the girl was still on the naive side so she was easily swayed by words.

"You promise? Pinky swear!" Jasmine exclaimed but Oliver had a kind smile.

She wanted a pinky swear and got it, Oliver did it and that was enough to gain her trust.

She stepped aside and Oliver gestured for Priscilla to come over.

They examined the unconscious man and Kyle found himself feeling anxious.

He didn't want more blood on his hands and the thought of taking this girl's brother from her would make him feel guilty for the rest of his life.

It was something that he wouldn't be able to move past.

"Okay, it looks like he will be fine. You did some harm to him but it isn't as bad as it looks," Oliver said.

"But we cannot know the full extent of his injuries until we get to the hospital," Oliver added but Kyle could tell by his tone that this wasn't something that he needed to worry about.

Or could it be that Oliver was simply trying to reassure him?

Kyle felt a smaller hand crawl into his, it was Jasmine.

Kyle realized he couldn't leave her here alone and would have to take her back with him.

At least, until her brother was alright.

But he was a junkie, Kyle didn't know how safe Jasmine would be with him.

Oliver gently lifted him and placed him in the back of the police car.

Despite Priscilla's opposition to coming here, she helped her partner in every way possible.

This was the nature of their partnership, just because they didn't agree didn't mean they wouldn't do their best to offer support to each other.

"Do you want to follow us?" Oliver asked, revving the engine.

"We will be right behind you," Kyle reassured him.

Oliver zoomed off and Kyle was quick to call an Uber but no one accepted his request.

Of course, they won't and this prompted Kyle to chat with one of the drivers via the app.

It was a difficult conversation but Kyle offered to pay double the price.

And luckily, he had nothing but good reviews from the various drivers that had previously worked with him.

This was his saving grace because the driver soon arrived and thus concluded his journey back home.
