Chapter 71: Paragon fгeewebnovёl.com

The sound of clicking filled the small lit bedroom. A pair of earbuds dangled loosely from Adam’s ears, his eyes glued to the laptop screen, illuminated by the soft blue glow of the game interface. It was late, no, early, but time had long since become meaningless.

He couldn’t stop playing.

Ascension.

A game he’d downloaded on a whim because of the Harem and R18 tag, and like any curious, lonely guy with too much time and a strong internet connection. But what he hadn’t expected was to stay... not for the porn itself, but for the story, all he was expecting to beat his meat to the porn, which he did, but... soon the porn felt meaningless at this given how good the story of Ascension truly was.

Ascension was, at its core, a cosmic horror plus high-fantasy visual novel about evolution, transformation, and the chaotic beauty of what it meant to stop being human. In the game, humans could become something called Metahumans, hybrid beings infected with supernatural DNA.

Each Metahuman bore traits of the monster they were derived from, becoming a twisted version of their Monster parent species, but with the capacity to grow far beyond them as a result of the human endless potential for evolution, and possible paths they as a species can ultimately become as a product of natrual selection.

Adam had played a dozen other H-games before, but Ascension? It was different, it was the type of game that hit just as Hard as HDXD. It was not just merely enjoyable; it was the type of game that could change your life, change your perspective on things. It was...an experience; that was the best way to describe it.

An experience that was.

Deeper...

Richer...

And hits you right in the feel...

But overall, despite its unforgettable harem of 5 girls in total, there was one girl that stood out the most... the main love interest, but also the final boss...and her name was...

Yarquela Mortlake.

The laptop screen faded in, and there she was.

She was completely naked, and as she stradle her fat ass on the Johnas meat, as he struggle to stay compose, as he was still very much inside her, and deeply at that. Her hair cascaded down like a black curtain around his face. Her skin was pale and flawless, almost glowing in the low light of Johnas’s room.

She had a voluptuous figure, curvy in all the ways that made teenage Dane drop his mouse the first time, or rather cough...cough, play with one hand. Yarquela was very beautiful, she had thick thighs, a large chest, and sexy demonic/occult-looking tattoos all over her body.

She may look 28, but in reality she was 98 years old at that time in the game, you can even say she was milf material.

Even as she straddles Jona.

Her expression coming off as.

Scary...

Cold...

And distant...

But she was not cruel...ok, maybe she was...but Dane simp for this characther alot.

But her action’s although selfish, questionable, but ultimately all for the MC’s growth.

As a result, she was a complete mystery, and even in the most intimate moment, she kept that air of authority, like she was letting Jonah close but never truly opening up.

But there was one moment in the game Adam could never forget; it was one of his favorite moments in Ascension, when Yarquela finally took the next step with the main character, who at the time asked her, why did she turned him into a superhuman, and why is she so obbsess with his life, going as far as to decide for him, saying that her action as rather selfish, but at the same time, it help him alot.

And when Jonah asked that.

She looked down at him, cupping both his cheeks, as she said.

"Do you want to know why I did it, Jonah?"

She asked, her voice low and unshaken.

Dane leaned forward at his desk, eyes glued to the screen, heart thudding with the same excitement as he was finally going to find out the truth behind Yarquela’s actions.

"Here it comes...the long-awaited lore drop."

Dane said to himself as he continued to play the visual novel.

And this was the reason she was his favorite character in the whole damn game.

Jonah looked up at her, breathing heavy, his hands gripping her hips like he needed something to ground him.

"Why?"

He asked, voice low.

"Why me? Why turn me into... this?"

He asked again.

Yarquela didn’t move, however.

Her violet eyes locked onto his, still and unblinking.

That was her thing...no matter how close you got, she always felt a bit out of reach. But in this moment, something cracked behind her gaze.

"I want to see the pinnacle of human evolution."

She said softly.

Dane, watching, leaned forward with interest.

"Humans are...messy... Fragile... But adaptable. And when that adaptability is pushed...is when it’s forced into conflict with something greater...that is when true change happens."

She brushed Jonah’s cheek with her thumb.

"Evolution can only go up. Never down."

Dane smirked to himself. She sounded like a villain, but she wasn’t, well, at least not in this moment. Like most humans... She just... wanted to see what came next.

Yarquela leaned down slightly, her lips close to Jonah’s ear.

"Monster DNA is diverse and chaotic. It holds more potential than any human could reach on their own. And when fused with the right host, it doesn’t just create a hybrid. It creates a Metahuman...something beyond both species, typically speaking, but most of the time this isn’t always the case, as most Metahuman never reach their full potential."

She sat back up, her posture perfect despite their closeness.

"I chose you, Jonah, because I saw the future...

"Ha, you can see the future, too. Just how many abilities do you even have?"

Johna asked, surprised that she could also see the future, and Yarquela gave him a cold look, but her finger circles around his chest lovingly, her expression was cold, but her actions spoke more for her than her looks...as she said.

"Yes, Johna, I can see the future... and I saw a possible future where you surpass even your monster parents... initially, your Wendigo lineage is weak. But in the desired future I yearn to reach for, you were strong. You will become the strongest of us all... once you reach Paragon class."

Said Yarquela.

As she continued.

"Look at me, for example. Look at how much I have achieved. In that future, you were vastly stronger than me, and what is even more impressive is that my Monster Parent is vastly stronger than your monster parent...and yet you still manage to surpass me in that future."

"I was turned into a Metahuman 80 years ago... by a Chalkydri."

Boom.

That was when everything changed for Dane at the time, her monster parent took 3 years to be revealed.

Even now, Adam remembered how hard he had to scramble to Google what a Chalkydri even was, and after some researching, he found out that the Chalkydri was some kind of angelic serpent-dragon from lost mythologies.

This means that Yarquela’s monster parent was no C-tier horror like Jonah’s Wendigo parent. Rather, hers was straight-up divine horror...a cosmic being with the power of light, sound, and knowledge, and was classified as S-Rank.

And Yarquela?

She had evolved so far past her own monster parents that even her powers had reclassified.

Yarquela could see into both the past and the future...not through magic, but by reading the frequency of particles around her. Everything leaves a trace, and everything moves in patterns. By analyzing how those particles once behaved and how they were set to shift, she could piece together what had already happened and predict what was coming next.

She could travel between dimensions by phasing her own body...breaking her particles apart and slipping them through barriers no one else could cross. Time itself bent for her; by altering the frequency of its flow, she could move through it like flipping pages in a book.

She could shapeshift by adjusting the frequency of her cells, changing her body on a molecular level with ease. And when it came to energy...cosmic, light, gamma radiation, even the tiniest electromagnetic waves, she could manipulate it all.

Every form of matter and energy had particles, and every particle had a frequency. If she could understand how something worked, she could rewrite how it behaved.

That’s what made her terrifying.

In the world of Ascension, monsters were already strange. Their particles weren’t like anything from the human world, they were alien, unstable, and impossible by the natural laws of the world. But Yarquela’s metahuman abilities did not care. If she could decode it, she could control it. To her, reality wasn’t fixed.

Now, personally speaking, this got Adam thinking as he remembered the good old days playing Ascension.

And seeing this place was literally called the Monster World, and the game universe that Yarquela came from had Monsters, or supernatural entities from another world, to sire humans into their children as monsters come from another plane of existences called the Monster Realm, as that is how they take over universes.

They will sire non-monster life forms by converting the life forms of those universe into their own until the universe they invade is full of nothing but their kins, and the process repeats itself, over and over again, and again, and since they were infinite universes out there in Ascension, it was a never ending cycle of invading and converting.

Now knowing that Yarquela existed, this made Adam wonder as he ran to the hole and jumped straight down while saying to himself.

"What if this world... this Monster World I’m in now... is the same one from Ascension?"
