"Do you wish to become my Spawn, Adam?"

"A word of caution, darling, your body is already perfection incarnate, thanks to your Shinso Human lineage. I haven’t the slightest clue how my DNA will react when introduced to such flawless human design. There’s a chance it could tarnish that perfection... but if it does? Well, you’ll be reforged in the image of something great in power. After all, I am no ordinary monster... to the humans, I am beyond what the inquisition considered S-class."

Echidna’s voice echoed across the void that was his mind.

From where she stands on the other side of this world, inside her own domain, back in the mansion, her eyes gleaming with maternal love. Along with something of much deeper intimacy.

Adam, though still bodiless in this pitch-black abyss, didn’t hesitate.

A way out was a way out; for that reason, he agreed.

"Yeah. I am willing to take the risk, big sis."

He replied without blinking...not that he could blink, given the lack of eyelids at the moment.

"Let’s do it."

The moment Adam said this, Echidna began to grin from where she was.

And the grin that curved across Echidna’s lips could’ve made even a Demon King nervous.

"Mmm... such resolve."

She commented.

"You may very well be the only creature in this universe mad enough to gamble with perfection. Many would kill just to reach their perfect state."

Adam chuckled dryly as he jokingly responded.

"Lady, I am a five-year-old human kid who lives among monsters, and craves the Greek man’s lifestyle, mentally and physically... I’m knee-deep in irreversible territory in more than one way. Besides, if their anything I’ve learn about gacha games, is that risk is needed for growth."

That earned a melodic laugh from her...sharp, amused, and maybe even impressed.

"Pfftt... yare yare... well that’s the preferred mentality I would rather you have, it’s the reason you are compatible with Typhon."

"But before I remake you...

Echidna paused, getting a little bit more serious here, as she says.

"I need something from you in return."

These words took Adam by surprise, as he was not expecting that her help wouldn’t be free.

But he doesn’t have much of a choice either.

"...What kind of something?"

Adam asked warily, the playful tone fading from his voice.

"The Codex of Typhon, also known as Pandora’s box, the artifact I had Roland pass down to you, moments before your mission, it houses the sealed power of the first Divine Monster."

Adam blinked internally.

Or rather, he already knew this as well, but pretended he didn’t as he just went along with Echidna.

"Typhon... Never heard of him."

"Yes, a Primordial being created by The Divine Spirit of Yin itself. A Divine Monster, half-spirit, half-physical, yet entirely monstrous. Unlike the first Overlord of Humanity, who was created by the Spirit of Benevolence, Typhon was made to be the embodiment of evil and corruption. The Father of Monsters, the first nightmare... The Source of all corrupt energy, it was his dreams that created the first half of the Dream World, and gave birth to Miasma, which leaks into the Monster World."

Sad Echidna her fill with both reverence and loathing alike.

"Every vampire, Siphe, agmos, chimera, rebis, werewolf, dragon, wraith...every monster species born of mating, evolution, or whatever other means they can stem from, they all originate from him as the embodiment. And after defeating his brothers and... mating with their wives, his spawn took shape and began spreading across the world."

"...And now that very power, the raw chaos of Typhon’s being, is inside you."

Adam stayed quiet for a beat, letting it sink in.

This was both stale and new information.

’...The system said there were seven locks in the Codex.’

He said, acting surprised.

As such, he commented.

"By the way, the Codex comes with keys; two doors are open, but I can’t open the others, so how do I go about opening them?"

Hearing this, Echidna began to explain, it was good that Adam found the keys early on, left in the doors.

"The first two doors are physical in nature. So they are easy to access. But the remaining five...

She paused for a brief moment, then continued.

"They are metaphysical...born of concepts, not keys. Each one is a fragment of Typhon’s soul. And I’ve sealed them away to protect them...by implanting them into five very special girls."

"Wait... You did WHAT?"

Adam responded, as the system said they were most likely scattered across creation, their locations, however, were unknown.

For that reason, this news came as a shock.

But it was Echidna, said next, that truly left him speechless.

"I made the keys into people, Adam. Or rather, I sealed each soul fragment inside a Shinso girl. Girls that you are already familar with... your five big sisters."

Adam’s soul would’ve facepalmed if it had a hand.

"Wait, wait, wait, are you for real?"

"...I am dead serious, darling."

Echidna said, confirming her words.

"These five are unlike the others. I made them the keys for a reason; they’re all Shinso, just like you, and they’ve already begun to form bonds with you."

"But more importantly... Typhon once had seven monstrous queens as his wives, each bound to him; they are to Typhon, as to what Lucifer and Michael are to God of the Bible."

"His most precious treasures. I’ve chosen five of them because their bloodline is special; as such, they are also perfect vessels to carry fragments of Typhon souls without the fragment rejecting them, even for normal Shinso existences, they are a tad above most due to this. And the only way to unlock each key... is to make them fall in love with you."

The silence that followed was louder than any explosion.

Adam, on the other hand, reacted to this as follows.

"...That makes things a lot more easier... Say LESS."

"...Minerva was right you are one horny brat... I was right in picking you indeed."

Said Echidna, on that note, however, she changed the topic once, and said.

"Now then, darling, it’s about time you start...

"I am ready whenever you, big sis, but how are you going to transfer your DNA to me from here?"

Her reply, however, was shocking.

"It is quite simple, darling. The moment you agreed to become my Spawn, you gave me a singular, exquisite privilege...full access to your body, just this once. And I do intend to enjoy it."

"I’ve already begun the process... infusing you with my blood and venom alike. You’ll start to feel it soon... your body waking up, little by little."

Echidna said to Adam.

"I see... so I should be waking up any...

BADUMP!!

Adam’s words were cut short, as a wave of sensation hit him at once.

"I see it’s starting to work just fine... your body is reacting quite strongly to me... OHHH MY... Wait... isn’t this... too...

But at that moment, Adam could no longer hear Echidna’s voice.

Something ancient and wild surged through him, the energy of a Primordial Monster, and it swallowed everything. Sight, sound, thought, even the sense of who he was... all of it drowned in a deep black sea. He felt like he was sinking...deeper and deeper, into the darkest part of his own soul.

Logic slipped away, replaced by raw instinct. Two forces coursed through his body now, one was his own, the monstrous energy that came with being a Shinso Human. His body, already perfected, created an endless supply of energy for him to rely on, like a candle that could never burn out. It was stable, unchanging, infinite.

But now, something else was bleeding into it.

A dark, foreign energy.

It moved like a stain across his essence, trying to infect and convert his infinite power into the energy that invaded. It was trying to push past the limits that made him a Shinso Human to begin with. A foolish ambition... and yet, with enough power, even the impossible becomes possible.

As the Primordial energy fed on Adam’s own, it began to grow, expand, and multiply. It was trying to replace his existing power entirely...rewrite him into something else.

But it wasn’t going to be that easy.

The moment that foreign energy tried to dominate him, his own power pushed back. Violently. His Shinso DNA...his perfect, flawless design and state, rejected the invasion outright.

It wouldn’t tolerate being rewritten. It didn’t need to evolve into something else. For it was already the final product.

So it fought back.

The infinite energy within him rose like a tidal wave and crushed the foreign essence, devouring it completely. Like a matchstick swallowed by the sun.

The Primordial energy had no chance. Overwhelmed, it surrendered, forced to submit to the existing energy in Adam’s body.

And as it did, Adam’s body changed again.

Treating these changes as a superior level of adaptation, refining new natural skills in his body.

His Shinso cells did not resist the change, for Echidna DNA was forced to abide by his body’s will. The new power wasn’t rejected, it was absorbed... refined... and then reshaped to suit the body.

And then...

He heard a voice.

It seems familar, as the voice said.
